I like that Memnon won the sword duel. Although Mathayus is stronger and more resilient, he's clearly not the better swordsman of the two, and that's fine. Honestly, that's quite unique for an early 2000s's action flick that features The Rock. Nowadays you wouldn't dream of seeing him lose a fight at all.
Great point. I liked that as well. And it made sense for Mathayus to kill him with the arrow and not the sword duel, because not only was Memnom a better swordsman, but he was also the greatest the world had ever seen, as the narrator said in the intro of the movie.
That fact kind of points out how underrated this film was. Sure there were cheesy moments, but that was expected and required because it was an action pop corn flick. They didn't have to add some depth to it but they still did.

I always thought it was cool that this movie was meant to be a prequal to the mummy 2 with how he become that giant scorpian monster and that deal he made with Anubis, but I wont lie and say really hate the later films that very much milk the scorpian king into the ground
