- Another bike I ve never ridden, the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory. Having always been disinterested in Aprilia because of my memories of seeing broken and mistreated 50/125cc bikes that had been ragged by kids enjoying themselves (not that I wouldn’t have done similar though would like to think we did take better care of our bike at that age). Would the Aprilia feel like the crude, brittle, unreliable bike I had imagined?

I took the RS 660 out as they didn’t have the Tuono 660 available at the time I loved the induction noise so additive the factory Tuono was the one I was considering

Beautiful bike. I was seriously considering a RS660 but at the time they were having big reliability issues. I think that is sorted now and watching you ride this beauty gets the itch going again. Cheers.

I got myself an rs 660, its a lot of fun to ride, and its absolutely beautiful. Only fault ive had is a squeaky back brake, you will love it.
They are not sorted. My brand new just burnt 2 quarts or oil in its first 600 miles. I regret buying it.

Your mention of the outfit reminded me of the bloke I saw shopping in Tesco the other day, in old bike gear and dayglo jacket. Shopping with his wife. I saw them leaving later in an old outfit with the ‘On The Buses’ style covered ‘60s outfit! Olive ensconced in the outfit protected from the rain! 🤣🤣

I should hate sidecars, I suspect they are the reason my left eye is nearly redundant!
We moved up to Birkenhead from Llanelli. Water Street near the famous ferry across the Mersey! Playing with other children, aged about 3, we used to go down to the factory, at the end of the street, and collected steel marbles in the road! The factory made them. I found a corker and turned round and was struck in my head above my left eye by a sidecar! 🙄 I was carried home by the rider and of course no talk of suing him instead I got a scolding! I could have damaged his sidecar! 🤣 Soon after I had a patch on my left eye and hospital visits putting the parrot in its cage! And four eyes at school! 🤣
BONUS being - if TAYM appears in his videos I look only with my left eye and, thank goodness, he’s out of focus! 🤣🤣🤣

Great video Mr TAYM. Marvellous bike with a superb sound. What the early MT09 could have been if Yamaha had not cheaped out on the suspension.

It's funny, just as you got off the bike, I knew it didn't have a center stand, my Café still doesn't. But I was just smoking a pipe and it didn't have a centerstand. I guess I like things to stand on their own too. And not lean!

Evening Mr TAYM. Now we’re talking. I really like these, not so much in the gory colours, but in subdued colours like this one. As you know, I like being naughty occasionally, and the Tuono 660 would definitely be one to think about, if it wasn’t for the price. Unfortunately, they are out of my reach, even a 2 year old one is just too much for me. Then there are the servicing costs, which I am guessing isn’t cheap, then insurance……..tyres…..😢 Enjoyed looking at something I like, but couldn’t own, thanks for that 😂

That is a naughty boy bike I think it would definitely draw the attention of the Rozzers but it has got a nice bark to it and it was nice to see normal handlebars so that the elderly and infirmed like me could ride it without spending a week in bed afterwards 😁

Is a lightweight bike with upright bars not clip on's.
You could grow a moustache.Comes with a Akropovic Exhaust too jump on & ride & enjoy don't really need to mod it.

If Yamaha had let an Italian design team take charge in 2015 , this is what the MT07 would have looked like ... I know which I prefer !!
I had the original Tuono 1000 in 2004 , an absolute beast and stunningly brutal looking for the time. It was faultlessly reliable as well but too tall for me which eventually led to me selling it .... wish I still had it!

Well TAYMmy first thought is , it's a greyhound/Lurcher in liquorice with it's arched back I think on side view the fairing looks somehow disjointed from the bike a bit like the Fazor 1,000 kind of to far forward . Typical Italian flair to be sure a very neat exhaust to me it looks like a sports bike with higher bars kind of a highbred ,so Street triple or Tuono similar in price I think I no which one I would choose 😉👌👍
😂😂😂 after riding both (privately) down the back roads, if I could sum up the experiences by reference to appearance, after the Tuono I looked like James Dean. After the 765RS, like a surprised wurzel gumidge 😂😂😂😂 the 765rs is a rocket ship. 😁 thanks Crumb 😁

Nice review/rideout Taym. Good looking bike, reminds me of the Honda cbr 650r, can`t fault its looks, sounds earthy like it. Pricey though, 10k, the Honda can be had for 8.5 grand and its a 4 cyl. Horses for courses .

The one I bought 10 days ago burnt 2 quarts of oil i it’s first 600 miles. I should’ve got the XSR900.

Thanks for the information. I was debating to get this or Kawasaki. I seen in another review that Aprilia loves to refuse to give the okay for repairs covered under their manufacturer’s warranty.

Italian motorcycles do have a look of art to them.
Love my V7 but alas it is too undependable for me.
Had it for 40 months now and it's been out of service for 10 of those months.
Coming to the realization at my age I just don't want to be bothered anymore.
Very disappointed.😢.

Oooh, a proper naughty boy's bike, one with a bit of a reputation. I generally like black bikes but somehow this one doesn't quite " shine" or stand out like black red and white " factory" colours I'd have expected 🤔😳 Also I always thought the "factory" model was their top of the range, so I would have expected better than an 80's hand held games console in the dash.
It did sound nice and angry and looks to have plenty of poke though I'd have expected the torque to horse power ratio to be a bit closer. A marvellous review all the same and it seemed to have fun factor, which is ultimately what naughty boy bikes are all about 👍😀

I can assure you your mice did justice to the sound of the bike when you whipped past the white car 😂 sounded superb and I think you would struggle to improve its sound to be honest. As a previous owner of an early Street Triple, this bike for me would have also been a good choice . Would be interesting to see what you thought of the cheaper version of this bike, I bet it would also be very impressive. 😊
Well, I thought the cheap version of the 765 was fantastic so if the Aprilia cheap version was similar I am sure I would feel the same 😁 thanks Peter 😁
One Aprilia dealer is knocking £1305 off the Factory. They're selling it for £300 less than the standard! And my bet is prices will come down a bit more in Nov/Dec. 😉

Being of a certain age I haven’t been impressed with these modern looking things however watching your reviews might sway me into the modern world one day. Did I really just admit that?? Better not let Betsy or Anni hear that. Must be time for a bex and a good lie down. These modern bikes missing their centre stand really irritates me. Luigi has gone to the shop to have one fitted today. I spent far too long cleaning & oiling Anni’s chain this afternoon. She has a booking for her centre stand fitment, December 18th.🙃. @@TAYM correct mate, Chain lube on Luigi doesn’t seem to do the job🤣🤣🤣, however as he only has a sight glass for engine oil inspection & the book says check with bike upright, I understand there’s not much between my ears however I can’t figure out how to check the oil level when it’s missing a centre stand.Anywho problem solved, nothing more $$ won’t fix, as usual 🤣🤣. @@TAYM yes mate, definitely agree. I have been called a dipstick in the past by some who supposedly know me, however that shouldn’t give bike manufacturers the green light to omit such things 😳🤔🤣🤣. I am a beginner. I want something to use both intracity and for long ride time to time. But I don't want a touring bike I want something faster and more agile. This one is the best I could find so far it's not that fast not that slow. They say it's comfortable too and it's pretty loaded in term of electronics and features. Would you recommend me this one?

Now that’s an interesting question🤔 they are very different 😁 the Aprilia seems to be smoother. The Suzuki feels quicker but only because the Aprilia does it much smoother. You look down at the clock and think, wow, I didn’t realise 😂😂😂 if you know what I mean 😁 obviously none of that business went on (on camera)😁😂😂😂

Naughty boy TAYM, lost his license exam on the start 🤣. The new Tuareg adv bike has the same engine, I believe 🙄 .. Italians have the best looking faired bikes period..But naked ones, It's hard to beat RE and Bertie's close family. If I had unlimited money to buy just one bike and ride it for a long time, It would be something Italian.. Guzzi .. The old V66tt .. I would sell a kidney for that old bike NOS /new old stock/ 🤔🤣🤣
