Some guy crushed me with a voltron version of this deck. There was nothing I could do if I wasn't in the right colors because of indestructible.
Given the amount of keywords Tajic puts onto the battlefield, I'm really surprised not to see Odric, Lunarch Marshal in the decklist. Maybe you forgot about him, but he seems perfect for this deck to me.
Yeah, I did run him in my version of the deck. Got me quite a lot of turn 4 kills.
Possibly the most busted 3 drop you can curve into Tajic with is Savior of Ollenbock. Just about an automatic win if it doesn't get removed the first turn it comes down.
I think I do own a full set of those. Never found any exciting use for them though. Thanks for the tip.

I play all board wipes, targetted removal and protection for tajic. Works great.
See, that's the insane thing about Tajic. He's so good that you can even run him in control as a beatdown card.

Nah brawl feels like a creative and fun gamemode, I'm having a lot of fun exploring wild ideas I get.
It's all I played for a long time. Recently I've picked up a Standard deck I like, but I'll probably go back to just Brawl when that deck rotates out.
As long as you don't play the top tier commanders, it's really fun! Otherwise, I hope you enjoy playing against the endless piles of removaltribal.dec
I think you had too many top end cards in the deck. You often needed more small cards or spells. Of the 10 cards with 4 or more mana, you played 1-2?
I want to like these brawl videos, but without a competitive que its like watching someone play standard in the Play que. Literally, almost every match in Hb can be won right now by picking Teferi as the commander and cast a counterspell or two then opponent either scoops or alt-F4 to peave you waiting 5min for a win that does nothing for you other than progress dailies.
Its just not good, brawl itself is a great format, WotC just needs to add a ranked que for it. I think the only reason they havent yet is because it would cause a massive dip in players for the other ranked ques

When you talked about hating this card and how powerful it was the other video, I checked to see if you had made any decks abusing it and was surprised you didn’t. I’m not surprised anymore lol
I get that with most of the Boros or Red-White oriented decks I try to build. I think it's because that color combo is still extremely lacking in broad card advantage or ramp - while yes they do have tools for both of those things to some degree, it's almost always so specific that it pigeon-holes you in to playing a certain way. If you're trying anything else, you're relying on a great hand AND a few good draws (or vice versa) and if not, you're screwed unless your opponent has had a very bad start.
Conversely anything centered on Green-Black, Green-Blue, or Blue-Black, you get such easy access to ramp/card draw/mill + recursion/all three, that you can kinda do whatever you want around it and probably make it work.
I think the coolest trick is you can stifle the chance for Glory lose the game and your creatures PERMANENTLY HAVE INDESTRUCTIBLE

I hate this commander design so much. It asks absolutely nothing of you. You don’t have to worry about what the rest of the board is doing, how you might grow your commander, how you are going to attack without it dying, how you’ll protect it from removal, how you’ll build a board around it. You just play it and turn it sideways. This is what people are talking about when they complain about modern commander design.

No. Targets are chosen at the trigger moment, so while it can go on the stack after, the new creature is not on the board at that time.

I played against this deck with my BG spider deck and I killed the opponents angel that allowed me to play small creatures from the graveyard. The opponent conceded because I just kept gaining life

How do you determine what gets precedence when one card says “you can’t take damage this turn” and the other says “damage can’t be prevented”?
If the cards said that, then you wouldn't take damage. But they don't.
Protection says, amongst other things, "prevent all damage that objects with the stated quality would deal [to the object or player with protection]". The damage restriction from protection is a prevention effect. That's why an effect that says that damage can't be prevented overrides it.
(Compare Teferi's Protection: "Until your next turn, _your life total can't change_ and you have protection from everything. All permanents you control phase out." Note the highlighted part: since your life total can't change, you don't actually lose life when you take damage, even if the damage isn't being prevented.)

Those effects are usually worded "Prevent all damage that would be dealt to you" and "damage can't be prevented", so here the "can't" wins out and the damage is not prevented. The rules say that "can't" effects take priority.
For *protection,* the underlying rules also clarify that it works by *preventing* damage.

i used this Tajic in Brawl a few weeks ago he was absurdly good,
I no longer play red or blue. I feel like a basic bitch when I do. Direct damage and counter spells are for the weak.
In the first game if you had played the lord and tapped down he may have blocked preventing more damage than you did by not playing it until after combat. Not a punt, just a bluff!

Idk if you want to take a challenge from a fan for a video, but I would love to do Anim Pakal vs Tajic. Best of 3 and no early scoops. I think my Anim Pakal deck is better than the Tajic deck, especially in a VS. It's much more explosive. If you win, I will subscribe to the cool kids club. Indefinitely.

Honestly, the alchemy cards don't bother me as much as the rebalances. The alchemy cards are busted but the rebalanced cards get twisted with the real cards in my brain. Timeless brawl when?

Bruh I have fought so many of that dam commander in the last week is crazy. I have two decks specifically design to destroy that commander.

My Tajic is running every 1-2 mana rock, every nonexile board wipe, and every counter spell i can run.
Run out Tajic or a high power card as fast as possible. Destroy everything the opponent plays.

btw, Teferi (the Hero of Dominaria one) got his old voice back somewhere between recent updates. And that voice is MUCH better.

Finally, some respect on Tajic's name.
He's definitely over developed, but man is he fun.
Feels just like the build, Im running a good 65-70% win rate un hell queue (where this commander is ran). I just go less for boros good stuff and pure gotta go fast, cards like mana tithe,etc while good tempo are dead cards when trying to kill them before they go off. I have an easy 100% win rate against nivmizzit(UR variant) as an example. The bane of my existence for this deck is actually mono blue combo, like emilia, where my variant of this boros deck sports something like a 20% or less win rate.
I don't think Tajic is hell queue. I've been running into him quite a lot with my Sorin deck, so far my win rate is nearly 100%. It's amazing how effective having a lifelinker, a vein ripper or cordial vampire in the way can be. I do get an harder time against pure control versions though.

If you want some advice from a random: download Arena and play it. The tutorial is excellent. I'll admit I wasn't new to the game when I did that, but I hadn't played in literally 20 years.

Please, please wizards make a historic brawl option for people that want nothing to do with alchemy. Until then, all I can do is hand out free wins whenever I run into an alchemy card because I refuse to play against it
