stale meta -> exciting card comes out -> craft deck with new card -> get destroyed by established decks -> play established decks to keep up with everyone -> stale meta

There used to be this thing called "rotation" that broke that cycle.
I dunno what happened to it. Guess we needed a bunch of strictly worse reprints and a slight variation on depopulate to replace all those cards that are *still here.*
If a new card came out and was so dominant in the format n the first week, then it would be a bad design. I for one am happy with the meta - it's so much more healthy than having one deck dominant.
Tell that to my boros burn control deck that is happy with lightning helix reprint. No one plays my list and its REALLY good in the meta. There is a huge card pool right now and lots of good answers. Im looking forward to brewing some new stuff once I get an idea what I want to use wildcards on

That game where you just destroyed that person's lands made me laugh. This was a fun looking deck.

I made a ramp into ‘ Virtue of Strength’ play ‘outrageous robbery’ deck, and it’s indeed outrageous fun.

I ran into this on the ladder today, playing Dimir control. Between the two of us we had maybe a half dozen threats. I had countermagic and Memory Deluge. He had an artifact that milled me for three every turn. He won.
anytime I see the green/white Enchantment deck take an L I feel a sense of euphoria
I cannot verbally express how badly I hate that deck

the worst part is this deck should have rotated out but instead it gets new and better cards every set.
I hate kami more than jukai
As a bloody Selesnya player I hate that deck. Selesnya Enchantments is close to but not quite as bad as Mono Red Aggro and Mono White Soldiers both to play as and to play against.

I know you're an almost pure Spike player, but sometimes we can see sparks of Johnny joy in there and it's just as amazing.

every time I play this deck I end up saving my opponent from flooding out, causing me to get flooded instead

Been working on a kaya deck that works off jadar and/or wedding announcement to get the full removal combo. Getting some use out of her in standard.

You won the match anyway, but @ 56:40, tap all gobby tokens with Warden, get three +1/+1 counters flying and vigilance, knock them down to 2, Shelly finishes them ftw :)

I'm trying to make Outrageous Robbery work in every colour combination (mostly dimir). It's absolutely my favourite card from the set.
That Boros war leaders call deck looks very fun I might just come back to arena to try play that deck.

Robbery is great! People are calling it a worse silver scrutiny, but I think there's a big upside to exiling cards versus drawing them to your hand.

"as though it were any type" jumped out at me as weird templating for this card. I assume you could spend normal mana as though it were snow mana, therefore? Are there other options there?
Oh, I guess it can also be used to make colorless for anything that specifically needs the diamond colorless rather than generic, which "as though it were any color" doesn't cover.
Could we get an ultimatum here CGB? If this video gets 2K likes by end of the month, you make a reanimate Jin + Outrageous Robbery deck eventually? You know, for the memes?

so I gathered from this video that Boros and Orzhov are both broken af now
I think you can kill the enchant creatures during end steps to get around the kami return trigger
honestly last time i played outrageous robbery (an overpowered and mean card if you ask me) it was versus a guy playing no jerk-exile, no jerk-counterspell, no jerk-stealer, not even graveyard hate...
I felt bad and surrendered/gave him the victory.
Why didn’t CGB cycle his fields to thin his deck against the Rakdos midrange deck? He peeked at the deck and didn’t see creature lands. Am I missing something?
That also confused me. I don't see why he hold onto those land destructions when he got to a point in which it was mass removal or bust.
@@ArchbardWava agreed! It felt like a missed opportunity to skin basic lands out of the deck so he might find his answers on draw.

That lifegain deck is actually cracked with that saga
CGB, I want to see a deck with both Outrageous Robbery and Phyrexian Jace because casting Robbery reduces the size of your opponent's deck... making it easier for Jace to mill them out.

Outrageous Robbery is like a mostly-better Silver Scrutiny, this has to be effectivly one of the most potentally powerful card-draw spells. I feel like there's got to be some no-win-con control shell that does very well indeed with this, shutting down the opponent early on and then outplaying them with their own deck. I'd bet the best version lies outside of mono-black, but not sure where.
Sultai ramp mill with this to steal like 6 on top of jace etc.

I feel like this would work better as a golgari deck. Replace the ramp artifacts with that new green case that lets you play more lands and Asuza saga, plus Assassins Trophy sets up the ability to blow up a land, then you can outrageous robbery all their basics
Having grabbed the list from his Moxfield and been playing it, I'd say that this works pretty bloody well now.
I can see a similar Golgari deck working, but you'd have to refactor a solid bit of the core of this one.
maybe im stupid but I dont see a reason to pass with all mana vs that rakdos deck and not just use fields to thin your own deck to get better chance of not topdecking swamp. Is there something I am missing?

In the orzhov lifegain game, I'm very surprised you didn't hit the first Gumdrop Poisoner with The End while they were tapped out and couldn't potentially put another on an adventure. It's not every day you can delete a significant portion of a deck's removal while you have 2 Sheoldreds in hand, but that is definitely a game-winning approach.
My surprise turned to frustration on the second and third poisoners, and you even ending up burning a better mass-exile effect on them anyway because of their reanimation (some of which you'd already seen when you passed on The End line). Your disrespect really came back to bite you. 💀
