- Welcome to another Qsuite video, this time from Doha to Montreal on the only retro jet in the Qatar Airways fleet!
While you may consider yourself fortunate if you ever get to fly the Qsuite, keep in mind that it’s not always the product you might get. My journey starts in Sharjah flying the worst premium product in the fleet followed by the incredible Qsuite. I’ll include some of that footage too.
We’re flying all the way to Montréal from Doha, which gives us just over 12 hours to enjoy the exclusive Qsuite product.
While it has been quite a long time in service, it’s still a product that hasn’t been beaten yet.

Als ik in de Qsuite vlieg houd ik de deur steeds open, hetzelfde gevoel als jij hebt.

De eerste keer dat ik ooit met de “Gamechanger First Class” van Emirates vloog hoorde ik een Zwitserse man achter mij klagen “this is how horses get transported, I hate it”. En terwijl dat een “First world problem” is heb ik hetzelfde probleem. Ik zit gewoon vast in een bakje.
Deurtje laat ik altijd open maar bijna iedereen om mij heen had hem dicht.
Ik voel mij heel alleen op een lange vlucht en dat gaat tijd heel langzaam en zit ik maar niks te doen. Vreemd gevoel.. 😬
🙋♂️, A stunning watch indeed and Hamad airport is just on another level 😍, looks more like an art gallery/shopping Mall than an airport. Qsuite is just another level of luxury and indulgence and it’s not even first class just amazing. Always a enjoyment to watch 👍👏
Thanks for being here Paul! Regarding Doha, I’m there almost twice a month so it feels like home. It just became “the gate is either close or very far”, “it’s empty or packed with people” or “I’m headed to this lounge or that lounge”. That shows how easy it is to get used to the good things 😞

I flew the 737 max with qatar airways from Medina to doha in Business. And tbh I really enjoyed it. I was the only passanger in business with one older lady and the Crew was awesome, also loved it that I had one of the first class busses basically for myself^^

hey alex, i love your vids bro and for me i think you are my fav youtuber and the best aviation youtuber out there mate, i have sub from day one as your timing on the vids are spot on! Now i got something for you if you go to Asia, so book a flight with Bangkok airways from Bangkok Thailand to Koh Samui Thailand on the a319 in Asia's most boutique airline for as cheap as other low cost airlines, this will offer you free service to the rest area at both airports and buffet room for free as well, you get 2 free meals on board and also a free seat selection, and when you arrive at Koh Samui airport you will be blown away as it is called the outdoor airport as there is nothing inside, so i hope you do this trip report as i really recommend it

I remember the CSA B737’s! They were amongst the last in Europe to fly the classic B737’s and I enjoyed spotting them in AMS.

Beirut to Dubai is a very popular flight. Plus my best friends in Dubai are from Lebanon, so I hope to be able to go back with them soon!

Qatar Airways or Emirates should now increase their presence in Vancouver. Huge potential compared to Montreal. Excellent video as usal.
I’m sure they would but can’t due to frequency limits into Canada by the Canadian Government they can’t. Air Canada now flies from YVR to DXB and EK codeshares on it.
@TheLayoverAviation The Canadian Government is protecting Air Canada. Recently they increased the number of flights between two countries but Emirates choose Montreal. So here in West coast we are desperately waiting for Emirates or Qatar airways

My Parents travelled on this route from Canada to India. Vice versa. They had 2 issues at Doha airport. Otherwise the flights were fine
This beautiful video brought back wonderful memories of my years in Doha. The country has grown significantly since then. At 12:58, in the lower left corner, you can see the pyramid-like structure of the Sheraton Hotel. Back in the '90s, it was one of the few landmarks, as there were no other towers. However, I noticed an error: you mentioned the population of Qatar is 666,000. The actual population is around 2.9 million, with native Qataris making up about 300,000 to 350,000 of that number.
13:57 I love how the Rockwell Collins Airshow 4000 Moving Map is generic on QR compared to EK on their older A380s and 777s (I thought it was Airshow 500) 😂

1:56 Yeah I too knew that QR had a sub-fleet of narrow bodies with these basic interiors. That said, they are only used on very short hops (less than 2 hours). I honestly think it is a waste to send a fancy wide body with lie flat suites and flagship product on a flight that is barely 1 hour as there is no time to enjoy it. Nonetheless great video!
I've always wanted to fly Qatar airways out of Toronto, but they only fly out of Montreal so that adds another connection or me, glad to see the service is still great. Can't wait for Qatar to start service (if that'll ever happen) out of Toronto and give EK and EY a run for their money.
1:41 The A320 Business Class seats being sold as First Class is literally something Qatar Airways’ oneworld partners, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines would do, except Alaska Airlines only flies the Boeing 737 while American Airlines flies the Boeing 737 and A320.

I think I’ve seen a lot, but one of the strangest experiences was also a sad one. It was a woman in her early 30’s with some hardcore schizophrenia. She had run out of medication while on her holidays so she was experiencing a lot of effects during the flight, and somehow got acquainted to me so lots of those effects, visions and things were directed to me.
Won’t go into details but it made for a very long flight.

16:36 I love how you pointed out that majority of passengers are Pakistani or Indian because literally the majority of the passengers are Pakistani or Indian on many Emirates flights between Dubai and Toronto 😅.
I not sure about this, but i found that on routes with majority of the passengers from South Asia, the odds of getting upgrade is higher than any other routes. For example, i scored one from Doha to Colombo. While a UA-camr got his from Karachi to Doha.
That has an easy explanation; flights to/from Asia have a massive demand in Economy Class but much less in Business Class. It is normal to just have 3 passengers booked in Business Class while Economy is overbooked by 40. So many do get upgraded.
It’s however different for the major Indian cities though, there is a lot of Premium demand there.

i travelled in the same flight from doha to montreal this aircraft was very noisy not sure y but compared to A350 and other 777 which i have taken as connecting flight was much better but particularly this retro aircraft was a bit old and very noisy making the the journey a bit unpleasent but the service from qatar airways was top notch

No polar Route for QR? How come???
It all depends on what route is the most fuel saving one. Sometimes there are less winds when over Europe.

QR gives the best rate from South East Asia to North America. Wonder what nationality your captain is?
There were three pilots from what I understood. It sounded like a Spanish Captain, Qatari F/O and the third I didn’t hear. The hard landing was by the Qatari pilot 😂

An average price will show once you search for it online.. It’s not that cheap as seat capacity is very limited to Canada.

I think the Canadian Government just allows them to fly to Canada once per day.
The Business Class cabin: **Highly Luxurious, Spacious and has modern IFE**
The Economy Class cabin: 💀💀💀
(The way they retrofitted the outer skin of the aircraft, They better retrofit the inside of the aircraft too with the NEW UPDATED Qsuites and a new Economy Class seating. Because honestly, the economy seats are FAR TOO Outdated)
the things is that even when the Economy Class is outdated when compared to their own cabins, it’s still a very competitive product in general.
But yes, I agree with you. I guess these older B777 are on their way out soon.
