Thanks Jennifer, you’re so smart giving informations to our travelers going back to Pinas. I am sure, all appreciated your informations for them.
The key thing is to do everything by the book and not try to take short-cuts. Before I relocated to the Philippines I transferred USD 15,000 every month for two years. I informed my own bank, the bank in the Philippines to which it was being transferred and, through my lawyer, the authorities. I had all the necessary paperwork to prove it was legally obtained. This was never questioned. When my wife and I relocated permanently I transferred a considerable sum of money, generated by the sale of property. Again, I informed the authorities and was required to complete some paperwork. All that the authorities in the Philippines required was proof of the source of the money, I presume to address the issue of money laundering. I had a brief interview with a consular official and everything was fine. Yes, it all amounted to a degree of bureaucracy, but hardly enough to make my life difficult and ultimately everything was official.
Any US bank you can recommend that does direct transfer to the Philippine Bank. Thanks.
Hi Jennifer thanks for the advice hoping to come and see Philippines soon.

I checked this, and its to stop money laundering of the peso

Hi MS Terri can I screenshot my PCR results to my one health pass
Thank you very much for that
I refer you to all my friends who are traveling to the Philippines
Thank you for your info.
Just arrived in Cebu today.Everything went smooth and quick. No problem.
I WISH I HAD DONE THIS. Like an idiot I picked Manila just to save a little more money on the dang airfare. I will never make this mistake again. Now very shortly I have to fly thru Manila. Its too late to change. Im so nervous of having stuff taken at security.
Thanks Jennifer
Changing Money 💰. This gets easier if you have a Trusted Philippine Friend. One with government photo ID and a bank account. We have mostly changed money at SM Mall (pictured in the video). I noticed, on my recent trip, the Form got more Complicated. It was a good thing I had someone with me that had the Necessary ID's & Requirements.
SM money changer usually ask for passport and I.D.
So Thank you Very Much for this Reminder.
You Always Have such Informative Little Tid Bits for Everyone .
this is incorrect. You can only bring 50,000PHP or equivalent into the Phillipines
You can only bring in 50,000PHP she is wrong
@@aicy5020
Maybe she is , maybe She Isn't .
Maybe you can only bring that much without declaring it on a Special Form.
Dig deep. Maybe rules have Changed since you Last traveled, ever think of that?
Jen, also it you have a banm in the Philippines and have more than 10,000 dollars in it you have to file a Fincen 105 form when you do your taxes in the USA.
Thank you
Thanks ✌️👍
U said per person right? Thank you very much for ur information, we really do appreciate all ur help.
Good info
I went to the Philippines , I brought $1,500.00 in US and I brought 15000 PHP
I wish I had a bank there in PH when the country opens right now with the php to dollar ratio its good. I hope the country opens up soon everyone around PH is open even Australia
This is good
What we did when we went to the Philippines. we didn’t Carry much cash. Then we used Remitly app on our cp and sent to us or our trusted family to pick it up for us for our weekly spending we didn’t have any problems on picking up our cash in Philippine currency the exchange was great 53 pesos to a dollar at that time..
“Trusted” is the key word here 😂😂😂
Great video about where to get money. I usually bring a few hundred dollars with me and when I need more cash I would either go to a bank or Robinsons or SM Mall.
Are there ATMs at those malls or banks that you get the cash?
@@jeffjohnson4920 yes, there are ATMs in most malls
@@jeffjohnson4920 I think Jeff Chipps is talking about foreign money changer, which is now all over the place in the Philippines, even in Malls.
Hurrah for Jennifer!!!!
put it in your Bank account and use your credit or debit card withdraw it on arrival in the phillippines
I exchange money from $ to pesos in banks, SM and Exchangers. Banks and SM takes too long process (is., paper works) Others money exchanger no paper works) However Banks are safer (inside the Bldg with guards ). when you bring $1k (100 bills) exchange to 55k pesos (1k bills) too thick carrying cash without bag.
If you bring in Philipoine Pesos you can only import 50,000PHP
However in foreign currency you can bring in $10,000 .
Yes here in Germany that’s only allowed currency to bring in the Philippines if you don’t need to pay tax. If you bring more than 10.000 € declare it in the airport you must pay tax !
My bf will bring 50k in pesos with him in cash so its okay?
@@dashbored24 of corz, that is only less than $1k.
Cool 😎😎😊😎 thanks
Thanks Terry for a very clear explanation regarding monetary hand carry. May I know if husband and wife could bring 10taw dollar each
i am a Superannuant from New Zealand What i have done in the past is just carry a minimum of cash into the Philippines and then use my debit card to withdraw cash from the ATM. in Manila .I also get a copy of my bank statement to prove i have an income from my fortnightly payments from the New Zealand Government i have never had any problems using this system.
Hey Jennifer, thank you for all the info. Quick question, I am coming for a month long vacation, landing and staying in Cebu, where should I exchange USD to Pesos?
SM and BDO are good to exchange your foreign currenxy
We have follow u and it helps soo much. What about transfering gold silver ty
You have to specify $10,000 USD.
Thanks Jen also if you are bringing in Philippine many (peso) ,,,
A person may bring into (import) or take out of (export) the Philippines, either physically or by electronical transfer, legal tender Philippine currency of an amount not exceeding PHP 50,000 (fifty thousand pesos, Philippine currency) without prior authorization from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. The monetary forms include legal tender Philippine notes and coins, checks, money order and other bills of exchange drawn in Philippine Pesos against banks operating in the Philippines.
The increase to PHP 50,000 in the allowable amount of Philippine currency brought in or out of the Philippines took effect on 15 September 2016, per Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Circular No. 922, series of 2016, dated 23 August 2016, titled “The Amendments of the Rules on Cross-Border Transfer of Local Currency”.
50,000PHP is alot less than 10.000 dollarsUSA
@@aicy5020 Yes and i think that before it went up to 50,000 PHP it used to be only 10,000 PHP
@@aicy5020 P50k is less than US$1k at current exchange rate at P54.
@@MRDPG59
Its only 50,000PHP to stop money laundering of peso.
But you can bring in $10,000 equivalent in any other currency and convert it to PHP of you like.
@@aicy5020 Correct :)
I just wanted to add this in case somebody was planning on taking a large amount of Peso into the Philippines :)
have a great day :)
Hi Jen. How about my personal check. Do I need to declare the money ? I'm from the US and planning to stay in the Philippines I'm not sure for how long. I will be bringing my personal check and the money will be over the limit. I don't want get in trouble for not declaring how much money on my bank. I will bring my personal check because I can use it in the Philippines to deposit my bdo dollar account. I can't deposit my bdo dollar account now because it was dormant so when I will be in the Philippines I need to go in the bank to reopen it. Thank you.
Hi Jennifer I am going in Australia on November as tourist how much money do I bring or might the immigration will ask any documents? Please advice me thank you, Jennifer
Good morning to you Jennifer, I always put my hundreds in between a book a month or two before I get there because some places refuse to take it if it's even has a little bent corner. But when I exchange it I get the nastiest looking old dirty pesos you can't believe, wrinkled and dirty. Why do sometimes I have to go to two or three places to exchange them? Why are they so particular about US dollars? (Ricky)===:::
Have learned my lesson 10 years ago. Thank you for the information you have showed me.
I have heard that some people send money to them self when they are in the Philippine with Western Union, Remity, WorldRemit, ........
Will try that when i will be there.
I do that, works well
@@scottramey4443 Western Union?
@@peraakeoerneving1955 sorry..yes ..I use WU
I do that.
yes it works ill do the same everytime i go for vacation
My GF declared my USD in Davao and donated $100:)
Many pick packeter this is very true dont cary your jewelry And be careful
The one thing I really hate is that vendors always say they don't have change for your 500 or 1000 peso bill. Sometime its true and other times, they just want you to tell them "to keep the change". Especially the taxi drivers.
good callout
Keeping the change is the way we as a society pay for our politicians' sins of corruption. God bless y'all.
You can also just use world remit to sent money to yourself trough Palawan and stuff like that 😉 wich you forgot to mention
I went back home I Brought 7, 000. 00 pound I didn’t declare it because mostly airport allowed to bring the equivalent of 10 thousand US dollars
JT...sorry I had to take a call and was distracted, what my lawyer and accountant suggested was $9,990.00, trivial as it may seem, there is a paper trail that should be followed for transfers between banks .
Just went to Philippines this august 1 it was a freaking long que before you get to immigration make sure you got your one health pass
And they keep updating what information you need to upload!
We're not rich enough to take the full amounts but you are also allowed to take 50,000 php AND $10,000 usd in foreign currency before declaration.
A useful thing to to do and our bank has this service, we convert most of our local currency to php before we leave so we don't have to deal with airport exchanges
Individual hand carry is 10taw us dollar
You can send by western union up to $50,000 if your ID IS verified to yourself. When you arrive , just go to western union and get your money. You can declare if you want to. They do not check .
Will WU give you your $50k in US currency?
@@bella7079 Hi , i have only paid a service fee for sending. I use 2 companies . 1. Western union
2. MONEY GRAM.
@@bella7079 you also can send a cashiers check if your spouse has a bank account in the philippines. Dollar account. It will take a week to clear the cashiers check
Amazing video. Ty for the info. Question, is it individual $10,000? What if I travel with my two underage kids. Can we bring $30K? Ty!
For me personally being signed up with a bank and exchanging cash are very outdated to me.
Meron po akong naka meet through dating app. Medyo natatakot akong magbigay kasi malaking pera nga and wala akong masyadong alam pa sa ganitong law. Then tumawag ulit sakin yung officer sabi pinag sign daw ng waiver si afam (akala ko naman para ma clear na sya, yun pala nabawasan ng 50% yung fee na need nyang i settle which is 27500 down to 13500 nalang) napapaisip ako kung magkasabwat ba yung afam at yung pinay? 1 month ko palang kausap yung afam and everytime na tumatawag sya sakin yung number nya is pang uk so convinced talaga ako. Pero this time parang may mali 🥺
If you want to get rich, focus on creating value to the market, then the money itself will flow in, Value itself is the symbol of money you are making, a fellow creator ~~~----
The customs form says you must declare more than 10000 PHP
Pls help
Hei miss jen what are the requirements returning back to Norway ?
What about gold silver
What if from Philippines to other country how many currency do they carry it
When using an ATM in the Philippines, what the the normal maximum withdrawal allowed by Philippines ATM's.
Do you know why all the bills have to be fresh and crisp with no tears and brand new?
Sana all 😂 dbah!
I have a question. Does gold and or jewelry considered money.
What if I bring $10,000 and 10bars of gold?
Great Attitude...and smile. Thanks for this. Suposedly we can olny bing in 50,000 Philippine Pesos into the country. What to do if I want to bring in more pesos cash then that? Is it as simple as just declaring it at the airport ...fill out a form and no fees?
Never mind...I found another vid by you!! :)
How much in gifts am I allowed to bring in without needing to tell customs?
How about bringing in gold or silver
coins.
Hei miss jennifer can i bring vitamins omega 3 in my check luggage going back to the philippines next week 10small bottles
What if you bring a large cashier's check and don't file but yet try to deposit it in a Philippine bank?
Ung foreigner pag pasok ng pinas kilanga paba ng result ng antegin test? Kahit fully vaccinated at 2 booster shot, galing sya sa italy
Probably a dumb question but does this apply yo php as well? Only asking because on their site it says 50,000 php max
I only have 2k for my 20 days vacation to Philippines this sept :(
Hi Jennifer, Is the $10,000 dollars for both husband and wife or $10K for husband and $10K for wife.
Is there a limit on the amount of Philippine pesos that can be brought into the Philippines
