Great video Jennifer. My wife has a bank account in the Philippines so we are transferring to the account. I used to be a US Customs officer at Philadelphia International, so I'm use to the money rule. It was a problem with multiple currencies being brought in the country, but doable. Keep making great videos.
From the bottom of my heart, Thank you so much Jennifer Teri 🥰🥰for your all-about travel vlogs to the Philippines. Great help. Traveling with kids, non-vaccinated is a hassle. But you answered all the questions I have. Once again, Thank you! More power to your channel & God bless you more! 💕💕💪💪
Jennifer, I think for the UK pound conversion to dollars, you were supposed to MULTIPLY pounds by 1.16 (not divide) to get dollars. So, 9500 pounds = 11.020 USD which is declarable.
The easiest way to bring money to the Philippines is with a ATM card from a bank that don't have fees for overseas use. Then use HSBC Philippines ATMs which don't have a withdrawal fee. If your from the UK the best ATM cards for no fees are with . 1. Starling bank 2. Chase bank UK.
I used to use my Nationwide bank UK account, to draw from from atms here in the philippines, cost 250 pesos local charge and nationwide charged the same for overseas use, so about $10 ( 500pesos)a time, for a maximum of a 10k peso withdrawal!! 😥😖😖
@@rogergarnham3202 yes nationwide has fees. Your better off opening a new bank account with a bank which has no fees for overseas use. In the Philippines the only ATMs with out a withdrawal fee are HSBC ATMs or use BPI ATMs as you can withdraw 20.000 pesos per 250 fee.

All ATMs in the Philippines apart from HSBC have a 250 peso withdrawal fee . HSBC can withdraw up to 40.000 pesos . Other ATM can only withdrawal 10.000 for 250 pesos
Not true. I regularly withdraw 20k pesos from BPI or China Bank with a 250 peso fee. However, all ATM fees are refunded to me since I use Charles Schwab.
Hi Jennifer. If I declare ladies bags in my baggage, do I have to take pictures of it and post it in the ATTACHMENT section of the online registration? Thanks for all the info you give to us travelers. God bless.
Ms. Terri anong effective date tong updated system about taking out of the Philippines more than 50K pesos? I arrived in the Philippines last April and departed July and flew with JAL (round trip) but was never given Customs Declaration Form by the flight attendants. But before pandemic each time I go back to the Philippines flight attendants handed the Form at least an hour prior to arrival.
Why would they change the way it is calculated because it's a whole number? that just changes the the actual calculation completely and is wrong for the UK pound as it is actual worth more than USD and should be 11k USD not the 8k you said
That's great news that a family may bring over $10.000 into the Philippines but be aware that according to the U.S. Customs and Border protection "members of a family residing in one household entering the United States that submit a joint or family declaration must declare if the members are collectively carrying currency or monetary instruments in a combined amount over$10,000 on their Customs Declaration form"
Yes a family traveling under the same last name collectively can only take out $10,000! So if there are 5 members each can carry $2,000 , any amount over you have to declare it. It is not per person!!
Your calculation on GBP to USD is wrong. Arithmetic is wrong. One pound is worth approx 1.14 dollar. 9500 pound sterling is 11k+ dollars!!!!! Pound is worth more than dollar.
Yes she changed the way she calculated it for some reason but it is worth more and that can also be seen in the chart. Maybe she wants the pound to worse than the dollar but it is better.

Did they change the amount of money to bring in? I saw that it is 10k PHP, anything above you have to pay a tax? Also, I have a prescription pill for viagra, I can’t bring that in? Can you please find out about this? Thank you
I’ll found the answer Sharing cash or non-cash forms of money to avoid reporting obligations is called ‘structuring’. It is against the law. For example, a party of travellers, such as a family, might choose to break up a reportable amount of currency among themselves, so that each traveller is carrying less than AUD10,000. If this involves, for example, a young child ‘carrying’ AUD9,950 across the border, it may be considered that the main purpose of dividing the cash among the party is to avoid the reporting requirement. It is illegal to make multiple trips across the border with amounts of cash less than AUD10,000 to avoid reporting requirements. It is also illegal to make someone else do this. Penalties for structuring include fines and imprisonment.

I have a question that you or one of your subscribers may know the answer to. If I plan on staying 45 days can I go ahead and buy the round trip ticket for the 45 day. And just extend once I'm there or do I have to buy a throwaway ticket?
Yes, you can bring that but you'd have to declare it since that would be more than 10k usd. You can exchange it at any SM Mall (customer/ business services). You can also use money changers. If you have a debit card, you should be able to withdraw from local ATMs (with a small fee).
You can bring £10,000 sure but because it is more than $10,000 you would have to declare it at customs and probably have to explain why you need that much money and unless you are living there why would you even take that much cash with you?? The banks or any money changer might not even change it for you as it is such a large amount of money, 650,000 peso!
Hi, Jennifer. My name is Rafael Martinez. I will be traveling to the Philippines at the end of the month. I have a distant relative who resides in the USA but went home to the Philippines for a vacation. She ran out of her cancer medication (Anastrozole) and her blood pressure pills (Lisinopril). My question is : Can I bring her prescription medication with me when I go home to the Philippines? Please advise.
Question, I saw another video about visas from another UA-camr. I gotta know, can you still get a free visa arriving to the Philippines? I'm a US citizen. I want to know if things have changed. Thank you in advance
Come on man every other video of hers and everyone else's along with embassy postings say that as a US citizen you get automatic 30 day visa ON ARRIVAL... But FYI at any point before the 30 days u can go to Immigration for another 2 month extension then before the end of that extension you can get a 6 month extension. Then again every 6mos up to 3yrs. Or just in case, its rumored (no personal knowledge of course😉) at the 1st immigration visit for a 30 day extension, In one swell "paid off" swoop...you can bypass all future Formalities and jump strait to 6 month extensions. Apparently it could be a perk for those with enough cash....hypothetically with a well sliped, $100 USD bill...TO "HIRE" A "Government agent"..to expedite your paperwork. So for a small fee of $100 usd I only have to revisit one time. Again I'm not saying this could ever happen but who knows.😉😉 we can dream. After all it's not like anyone is ever on the take right?
If it's more than 10k usd, kailangan nyo po ng i declare. Pwde rin na i-send nyo sa Pinas via bank transfer (sa account ng trusted relative nyo) para di ganun karami cash ang dala nyo.
If i declare it, what will happen? Kukumpiskahin? Ibayad ng tax? O hulidap ang bagsak? Iyon po ang tanong, no problem kung ideclare, yung action ng customs ang problema. Remember, it is my savings from my salary.
@@reynaldoancho5712 from what I've read, they just ask some questions re: source of funds. Some officers don't even ask, they just take the paper/ form. Hindi naman kinukumpiska. If you don't want to bring that much cash, do a bank transfer. Pwede rin yata na western union (to yourself) pero mataas daw ang fees sa WU.
And the thing that you said about the whole number / decimals? It is only applicable if the exchange rate is lower than USD (like PHP to USD wherein 1 USD is ~₱57). If the currency has higher exchange rate to USD (such as the GBP), you would still multiply (example on my first comment). Wrong calculation will lead you into trouble so watch out po.
This form that Jennifer is showing here for declaring money only, not the arrival card you are thinking about even though it does ask if you are bringing more than 10k it is not the same form.
@@thembones12 That's not the question I asked. I asked were would pick it up the money up ? Like were you would pick up Western Union or a MoneyGram ? Because they don't have a bank account and I would also like to send money to myself, while I'm there .
Thanks for the video Jen, I wonder why you’d take $10k in cash ect…I’m going for 3 weeks and still not sure how much I need to take in both uk currency or in peso but definitely not 10k 😅
Take about 10k peso which is about £150 for anything when you arrive and then use ATM when need more or a money transfer which some use as ATM charge 250 peso each transaction and it depends on your card or bank if they charge abroad also. UK pound is up to you but I would not carry more than a few hundred to be safe.
Cash gives the best exchange rate but it isn't safe. ATMs are the most expensive way to exchange money. Using a (debit) mastercard or Visa can give very good exchange rates at little or no fee.

Your computation is wrong, remember pounds is stronger than the US dollar so you have to multiply it 9500 pounds is over 11,000 US dollars.
BPI ATMs allow 20.000 per withdrawal for 250 pesos.
All ATMs in the Philippines apart from HSBC have a 250 peso withdrawal fee .
HSBC can withdraw up to 40.000 pesos . Other ATM can only withdrawal 10.000 for 250 pesos
$3 is pretty much same everywhere outside of your banking network right?
Not true. I regularly withdraw 20k pesos from BPI or China Bank with a 250 peso fee. However, all ATM fees are refunded to me since I use Charles Schwab.
Thank you So Much Jennifer ☺️
Hello Jennifer, mag declare din ba kapag may mga chocolates na nasa luggage?
Hi Jennifer. If I declare ladies bags in my baggage, do I have to take pictures of it and post it in the ATTACHMENT section of the online registration? Thanks for all the info you give to us travelers. God bless.
Can I asked Jewelry I’m wearing in my body do I need to declare ?
Miss jennifer what about sa mga personal na alahas ko do need to declare?tia
hi jen. appreciate the information.
Why would they change the way it is calculated because it's a whole number? that just changes the the actual calculation completely and is wrong for the UK pound as it is actual worth more than USD and should be 11k USD not the 8k you said
Do you have to declare laptops, jewelry, phones, and cameras for personal use?
That's great news that a family may bring over $10.000 into the Philippines but be aware that according to the U.S. Customs and Border protection "members of a family residing in one household entering the United States that submit a joint or family declaration must declare if the members are collectively carrying currency or monetary instruments in a combined amount over$10,000 on their Customs Declaration form"
Yes a family traveling under the same last name collectively can only take out $10,000! So if there are 5 members each can carry $2,000 , any amount over you have to declare it. It is not per person!!
Were allowed to bring 30 k dollars
Hello Jennifer my question is , can you bring frozen meat to the Philippines from U.S.A. ?
Kailan po to effective ? Thanks 😊
Great info. You just need to speak a little less in volume and you sometimes did it. Great job..
Hello Ms. Terri! Is this per family or individual? thank you for your time.
Per individual
good info. given. thanks .
May I ask if we can still use paper forms for the customs declaration in NAIA 1 this October 2022? Thanks so much in advance for your reply. :)
Hi. Anyone know what i need to enter the Philippines from Australia. Thanks

Did they change the amount of money to bring in? I saw that it is 10k PHP, anything above you have to pay a tax? Also, I have a prescription pill for viagra, I can’t bring that in? Can you please find out about this? Thank you
10,000 each person , so it means my wife can bring 10,000 and me 10,000 is that right
Good question!!!!!!!!
I’ll found the answer
Sharing cash or non-cash forms of money to avoid reporting obligations is called ‘structuring’.
Gold coins allowed to carry?
Only if you're John Wayne!

If bringing peso overseas do we have to convert it in 10k US or AUST $?
I have a question that you or one of your subscribers may know the answer to. If I plan on staying 45 days can I go ahead and buy the round trip ticket for the 45 day. And just extend once I'm there or do I have to buy a throwaway ticket?
You have to buy a throwaway ticket which leaves in 30 days or less or buy a flexible ticket
Tanong kulang po , Kong magpadala nang 60k euro Bank to bank to philippines mag declared pa ba?
If you did the bank transfer in your country of origin before your flight, no need to declare.
You'd make a great teacher
Not at all her mathematics was wrong
Hi Jen..pwd ba ako magdala ng 15k.dollar
Pwede po pero kailangan nyo i-declare.
I need to find a bank here in the US that I can set up.my direct deposit
And ???
Can i bring £10,000 into Manila and where is the best place to change it?
Yes, you can bring that but you'd have to declare it since that would be more than 10k usd. You can exchange it at any SM Mall (customer/ business services). You can also use money changers. If you have a debit card, you should be able to withdraw from local ATMs (with a small fee).
@@kitty_s23456 thank you.
You can bring £10,000 sure but because it is more than $10,000 you would have to declare it at customs and probably have to explain why you need that much money and unless you are living there why would you even take that much cash with you?? The banks or any money changer might not even change it for you as it is such a large amount of money, 650,000 peso!
You got your pounds to dollars totally wrong. £9500 = $11017.24
I'm sure you can. I am bringing medicine in and just declared it on my form.
If you are dual citizen what to declare when you fill up this form? Filipino or US citizen?
Question, I saw another video about visas from another UA-camr. I gotta know, can you still get a free visa arriving to the Philippines? I'm a US citizen. I want to know if things have changed. Thank you in advance
of course. you can always extend when in the country.
American citizens automaticly get 30 days free visa upon arrival in 🇵🇭
Come on man every other video of hers and everyone else's along with embassy postings say that as a US citizen you get automatic 30 day visa ON ARRIVAL...
But FYI at any point before the 30 days u can go to Immigration for another 2 month extension then before the end of that extension you can get a 6 month extension. Then again every 6mos up to 3yrs. Or just in case, its rumored (no personal knowledge of course😉) at the 1st immigration visit for a 30 day extension, In one swell "paid off" swoop...you can bypass all future
Formalities and jump strait to 6 month extensions.
@@mikepettit5782 It happens all the time. When I arrive I do the very same thing at BI in Bacolod City 👍
At least minimum..10,000 usd
Jennifer , love ❤️ you lots but you need a maths class ! Pounds are more than dollars 💵. Thanks 🙏 for all your (usually ) great information 😂
You are wrong, Jennifer. £1 is US$1.15 so ang £9,500 is US$10,918. Need to declare
Yes correct but the pound is actually over 11k when converted so need to declare yes.
Isn’t it the custom form is giving out sa plane before the plane lands?
This form that Jennifer is showing here for declaring money only, not the arrival card you are thinking about even though it does ask if you are bringing more than 10k it is not the same form.
Thanks
Hi Jennifer,
If you send money with PANGEA or with WISE , were would I pick that money up in Davao, Philippines ? Thanks
Deposited to most banks or have it delivered to the persons (family, relatives or friends)
@@thembones12 That's not the question I asked. I asked were would pick it up the money up ? Like were you would pick up Western Union or a MoneyGram ? Because they don't have a bank account and I would also like to send money to myself, while I'm there .
How do I know which terminal I'm arrivlng? Will the airline tell me which terminal ahead of time. My flight is from US-Korea-Manila. Thanks!
It’s in ur etenerary

May babayaran ba sa airport going back to US?lalo na kong immigrant?
10,000 dollars or less, its no fee
