Anyone who takes about a minute to look will find that it is cooler now than before the start of the industrial revolution. Could we potentially have an impact? Sure. Have we? Not yet. Every time I talk to someone about global warming I ask them if they know how the Grand Canyon was made. We have been told that it was carved out by a giant melting glacier. Then I ask exactly what could have melted the glacier long before factories and automobiles? Could it have been the sun?
yeah seriously. Also this it what ancient civilizations used to do. They would recognize weather patterns based on the sun then tell people the weather was a sign of end times and they needed sacrifices and offerings to appease the god. Obviously the people telling them that would keep the offering. They are now trying to get us to giving the offerings in the form of taxes and sacrificing self sufficiency and nutrient dense food.

I'm going to remember this, the next time someone preaches to me about climate change, and global warming.
I completely and wholeheartedly agree. Gregory is the voice of reason in a world that has gone mad, as is/was Bill Burr, George Carlin, and Andrew Dice Clay. These are my four favorite comedians.

@@somedude2630 I think he had gastric bypass surgery and lost a ton of weight...so that's prob part of it (I had it in may and when it comes off so fast you get a lot of loose skin) he used to be really heavy

Stupidity and denial are not humor. Sometimes comedian use irony and the opposit of what they want to convey to their audience. No, this old guy wasn't doing that. He is uneducated on the subject, in denial and wants people (younger generations) to be like him.

@@offsuit27 I don’t think there is anything wrong with being “an intellectual”. It’s just that today, any conversation about climate change involves intellectuals somehow. And in a comedy setting, a lot of well intended wrongs can be said about intellectuals and their take on climate change.
When has a meteorologist ever been correct in their predictions of future weather events? They sometimes get lucky but only when they have new batteries in their crystal ball.

Had CV19 at age 74. I have had worse winter colds. It is more about being healthy vs. obese, smoker, drinker, carouser or other things that destroy one's natural immune system.

I live in East Tennessee used to get snow every winter to the point they would run out of salt to put on the road it has not even really snowed here since 2018 had 1 inch last year and the summers have been getting way more hotter and humid too now we have Georgia weather

I read this one a while back but thank you for the refresher. I think that dependant on the implementation of the initiative it is in essence a good idea, why not have a crack at it after all? My worry lies within the implementation however, several countries have to work together to ensure proper allocation of funding and that there is absolute responsibility taken in maintaining the project until its completion.
I understand that all parties involved are taking steps to reduce the risk of a monoculture but this all remains to be seen. Essentially, I hope it works.

My question is are the added carbons in our atmosphere just a natural part of our cycle? And if so does that mean we're going to start getting megafauna again huge trees like the Redwoods everywhere

Well, I doubt people criticizing him don't know what a comedy is.
On the other hand, if he's sarcastic, then the actual message he's putting forward here is "climate change is real and it's very worrying". But why do I get the feeling this isn't the actual message? If so, then why do you call this sarcasm?
Furthermore, which part of this monologue is a joke? Is saying that summers have always been hot a joke? Climate change is not about summers not being hot in the past. Is bringing up the (probably made up) article about the projected two degrees increase in August compared to the previous August a joke? Most likely the article that inspired him was comparing the August temperature to the average, but it's irrelevant. Two degrees Fahrenheit on average is a lot. That's what climate change is about - it won't get 20 degrees hotter overnight, we are talking about single digits over long periods of time that make a global difference. So what's the joke even about?
In fact, while writing this, I sort of started to agree with you that the guy's just being very deeply sarcastic and making fun of all those sitting in front of him and laughing at his jokes ;)

I'm 67 in NYC (Queens) and a tornado went through the neighborhood back in 1986. A derecho went through Brooklyn in 2002. The NY State fair was wiped out by a tornado in '88(?), and that series of storms went all the way down to Plainfield NJ. Bleep happens, it's not new. You just don't remember any of it.
