This tourney was absolutely insane! I had a ton of work to do on Saturday, but I just had to tune in to your Twitch and watch you compete. Always a pleasure. What I love the most about you is your aggressive PvP style and how you're unable to resist a fight... not matter what, lol! You even inspired me to stop by for a few hours. I tried gatekeeping the copper mine for a bit, but everyone was too dang good. Even though I got whooped so many times, I did learn so much from the battles I had. Keep it up, Strange, you're doing an incredible job!

32:12 An area to improve on: see player kill player. At this moment you have your entire copper weapon's worth of cooper + forge in your inventory, as well as an extra set of gear from another kill. File that fight under "not worth". You are way better off (just my opinion of course) running those mats to base.
I'm not sure how it played out, I'm trying to comment before I see the result. It's important not to judge if an action is correct based on the outcome, but rather based on the information going into the fight selection. edit: the payoff was obviously huge, but oh man that fight could have gone a different way so easily (chaos volley + wolf and higher level vs your nothing).
Just a suggestion - It won't hurt to slow down inside your base. Keeping thing simple and organized will save lots of time in the long run.
Keep your refinement and refined materials inside your refinement machines and build chests with exclusive purposes (like 1 for tailoring mats + 1 for gems) and keep them near their respective crafting stations.
Your a pretty good PVP player and the that content (especially in a tornament setup) is FREAKING AMAZING but the moment u step inside your base it becames a clusterfuck of emotions XD

I agree with this comment. Recently found you, you are very entertaining, great pvper. I do feel you lose so much by starting out unorganized, it doesn't serve you well in the long run. And not having wolf form hurt to watch lol You use salves a ton, it would behoove you to hit graveyard early to stock up on rats and bones. Enjoying your content, Looking forward to more! :)
@@Joviaddict1 For wolf form, you have to watch other tourney starts and participate in extremely fresh wipes (day 1-3) to see what that's actually a GOOD play to skip wolf. People waste 30 minutes fighting for wolf, and then going to keeley and wasting another 30 minutes doing that. They are often still level 0 to level 3 because they are surrounded by so many people and there's no mobs to kill for bones. As a comparison, his opening wasn't even that ideal in this one and he was level 20 at 26 minutes here. You can always pick up wolf later without losing too much.
You probably can't destroy the heart because your PC clock has to be in the same timezone as the server clock. For example if the server is hosted CST, you must set your PC clock to CST to be able to key AT ALL; even during raid hours. This is a bug for every server in the game at the moment.

Honestly, your statement, that every PvP fight won will put you way ahead is wrong, because then you get stuck fighting every battle and just stagnate getting basic loot without actually progressing anywhere, while your competition gets into T2 and so on. Once you stop fighting and start trying to progress just as you do in your speedruns - i believe then you will be on the top! Keep it going!
Geeez, Clive was so messy. That took nearly 3hour+ to get loool. That's why I got it super early. At 1 hours and 23min mark when you see me at the armory. I was using the double dash already. I grab some low set that I got from players I killed to kill the armory boss since I kept getting ganked by players and ihumilitant ganked me when the boss was low x.x Time to watch part two!
My favorite fight EVER is against Ihumilitant during day 2. Soooooo long with both of us peeling and chasing across 2-3 different zones hahaha. Clive was nuts I have to learn to avoid pvp sometimes to be honest.
@@SoBadStrange I saw some of that fight. I was in rat form watching you two fighting in the cursed forest then taking that cave exit. I was thinking of jumping out of rat form and fighting but you two was having an intense battle so I just watched hahaha.

Yikes this run. I don't know what to say, but I was on the server here also, and I ran straight to T2 because I knew people would be killing clive and it would be a total mess there. So instead I went to keeley right away, then armorer, then straight to T2, made a base, emptied iron mine and cotton THREE TIMES uncontested. Cleared so many T2 chests and containers. Then I swooped in and picked up clive maybe 10 minutes after you, except at the time I was T2 castle and full stone walls with honeycomb. I was unsiegable, so even if someone with explosives came, I'm safe. I was also the 2nd quincey kill this tourney. Hearing you say "pro progression" when you are one of the farthest people behind is just so weird. Hearing you get excited about spending 3-4 minutes killing someone for plated boneguard sets at 2 hours into the tourney is just hilarious. What is up with wasting time at polora earlygame before you even have a keeley kill and a tanner? Someone else mentioned you need to focus and that's definitely it right there. Zero focus.

Yeah, this was before wolf and horse leaping, which I think came out in Gloomrot soon after this? The lack of mobility options made Horses the king early game at least. There is no escaping them, and horse lording was impossibly OP without more options.
Hahah horse lording was insane before the nerfs and wolf utility. Its probably similar to how history was where they just fled before a cavalry charge or got scythed down lmao

2:30:30 Never kill your wall first. That and the almost 4.5 mins that followed where you just left your base wide open was honestly just baffling!! Then someone comes into your base, almost zeroes you, steals a horse and you STILL didn't close the wall and instead built 3 others, leaving base wide open for another few minutes, all while talking about how if you got zeroed out you would possibly rage quit, but you STILL don't close the base for another few minutes. I honestly don't even know how that line of thinking happened. LOL love your channel and you are a great pvper but good Lord plug that hole in your game!! Much love brother, take this criticism well, but find out what caused that to happen because that was absurd.

28:00 I've found a few copper clusters that are fairly reliable early game. The whole northern edge of the map from Clive to the pathway out to Dunley seems to spawn fairly regular copper nodes. It's not uncommon to find 8-15 copper nodes in that northern edge. IMO much superior than heading to the copper mine. Also all the base plateaus seem to have a fairly high spawn rate of copper. Edit: you did kind of go to a similar spot, but next time keep going north and ride that edge a bit and you'll find way more than near the main path.

Look at where Strange’s base is. It’s right on the main road. Also, the Polora fight and the error with the base expansion took less time than the stream is delayed. Stream snipe wasn’t possible. The guy just wandered past. I suspect he just decided his tournament was over when he got zeroed and just decided to troll at bosses.

3:24:00 Why are you still pvping at Clive after killing clive? You went there for a horse, found one, so now get out and go do "pro progression plays". You still don't have a tanner, no wolf form. You want to siege players but need way more sulfur. You have 1 forge, and the you need 5 bombs per player, per airlock, and each bomb is like refined 8 sulfur (?), so 160 sulfur. It's also 4 whetstone each, (20 total) which you have nowhere near enough of. I think a huge hole in your game is focus. It's 3.5 hours into a run and you've been pvping at Clive for like 2 hours of it.
Also, people just unlocked explosives (1 clive kill before you, which was who knows how many people, plus your kill for 3 more). People are going to be getting their explosives, so you need to honeycomb or lose your base.
You have so many things you need to be doing right now, and you are wasting time gatekeeping clive.
IMO, this is a great time to be moving your base, and setting up in T3, or in a really odd T2 place so that you yourself don't get zeroed. But whatever you do, you need to get better at coming up with a plan and focusing on it, and stop getting distracted by so much useless PvP. Don't get me wrong, PvP is fun (and I suppose you are also doing it for the views), but at the same time you tunnel on it so hard that you miss the forest through the trees.

Man your narration is on point. Always hyped. You should dial down the tunnel vision a bit though. If you killed a few bosses it would be even more fun. Not having wolf for so many hours is insane. Also imagine having devourer to drop all the bone weapons = infinite salves. I know you know this but you can't resist lol.
Im going to try though I swear, I improve slowly and still make mistakes but Day 2 brings EVERYTHING back.
36:00 Blood altar is an okay build and worth the resources IMO. Main uses:
1) Track Lidia for chaos volley.
2) Track Tristan for greater blood recipe.
3) Track Christina the sun priestess for glass recipe.
All 3 of those things will be useful in the first 2 hours of a good run.
Ok, sorry. I'm going to say it. But please believe me when I say that I'm not trying to be an ass here.
Your duelling is brilliant. You frequently outplay people with better equipment and sometimes that really helps you.
Your play by play commentary is also good. It's the only thing that keeps me coming back.
Now the negatives. Honestly, it's cringeworthy to keep hearing "the best PvPers in the world". Your tournament prize is $100...do you really think you're atttracting the big names? Lay off.
Similarly, "pro-progression plays". Man, other people have said it but you're in an echo chamber here. You're squabbling for loot at low end bosses and you're the best of the bad bunch. So the result is that you think you're doing well. But whilst you're winning fights at Clive, there are some people out there making real "pro progression plays". They're farming Tier 2, then swinging back to finish T1. One guy turns up at Clive having a stone base full of iron and cotton. He takes one look at Clive, sees how many people are fighting, nopes out to Ferocious Bear and downs Quincey whilst you're still making "pro progression plays" farming (and destroying freshly made bone armour.
It's now coming across as bragging with no right to. It's embarrassing and honestly, a little off-putting.
Saint, I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to critically analyze and assist me to become better as both an entertainer and a competitive player seriously.
Although I do think many of these players are the best V Rising players in the world right now, we see their names in every single tournament week after week and also on fresh start servers and duel servers, I will layoff that phrase if my squirrel brain allows it.
I continually try and train myself to make Pro Progression plays and encourage others to do that but I definitely make terrible decisions to fight people with a full inventory and as you say(literally laughed out loud reading this) squabble for loot! For the $150 cash cup this weekend I will hone my skills further and attempt to get into Iron within 2h and avoid fights I don't need to take. I learned a lot this tournament and your feedback is spot on! Have a super day Tom 🥰

Haha I went bear and quincey and was level 50 when this guy was still fighting people for boneplated gear at clive. And he is getting excited about taking T1 loot at 3 hours into the game. I was pushing Octavian by the end of this stream.

Thanks Itchy! I think most bosses have a guaranteed research drop but most of them are just rng. Clive is a merc weapon, grayson is merc armor the rest are luck i believe 🙌

bit sloppy to not take your fast horse back first lol. You need to apply your pro progression plays to pro progression decisions imo. Chest organization is way better this time. Now just to iron out some sloppy thinking with basic logistics! Love your content btw! subbed for sure!

At 2:32:30, can you not expand while your base is closed up tight ?? Like… why wouldn’t you just keep it locked up while you build?
Feels like raphtalia was just streamsniping you ever since you first killed them. Just always showed up when it was most convenient. The horses, when you were killing the boss, and your base being open.

IS it possible for an Admin (or such) to track a persons stats ... ex. amount of kills, highest level achieved and/or kept, ect...?? the reason I ask if it would be possible that could open up to giveaways/rewards for when a set bench mark is met. Ex 1st one to kill 20 players gets a weapon/high level receipt or just about anything
Now yes, only through 3rd party tools but i have seen a killboard and gear score leaderboard the past three days. Hopefully SLS will add some of this officially 🥰

Yeah the pro progression thing is almost too much. It's one thing if you are ACTUALLY making progression. It's another thing when you say pro progression play and haven't killed wolf or keeley in 4 hours.

This stream like watching squirrel play. Oh look, fight. Oh look, more fight. Never progress. 3.5 hours and no keeley yet? Bad base location for server where people can raid early. No honeycomb. Leaves base wide open when destroy wall. Scatterbrained play. No plan, just fight. Get excite about spend 10 minute kill someone for materials that take 2 minute to gather. Bad decision for 4 hour straight.
Watching a squirrel play is exactly how this felt. I know English isn't your first language, but you are bang on.

Turns out its a known bug based on server location vs your local time. To combat this we will turn sieges and keying hearts to 24h during siege window and then restart with it off after sieges end. Gportal needs more settings for sure!

I think farming the starting area for bones is the play
There are never mobs there. The actual play is to go to the cliffs where most people build bases and clear the wolves up there for bones. Nobody is there and it's easy bones. Heck you could even run right into Dunley and farm wolves there as you set your base up and hit level 27 or so with zero competition in like 15 minutes. Then go contest Clive or horse lord the bear and do quoncey while you are 27-34, depending if you want to also grind gravedigger ring, which is also super easy in dunley.

Coralvanda absolutely outplayed at 1:04:00. You were unaware that castle heart actions on live hearts are like siege actions, and only work during siege hours; there is no way to set "castle heart action hours", because those hours are just PvP hours. Moving base items only requires being able to see and click that item, which you can do through walls, the same way you inspect the insides of enemy bases; it is in no way a bug, and moving things from room to room in your own base would be incredibly annoying if you couldn't do it through walls. Being frustrated about that while simultaneously attempting to horsejump-exploit into a base - an actual bug, that they would be much more likely to try and fix - is pretty silly. Coral played it perfectly, unafraid of the heart being keyed, locking you inside, and using superior game knowledge. They would have been able to move the castle heart too, if they wanted to.
As an admin, you should have recognized that you were outplayed, digested the information about the game you'd learned, and unstuck'd. You were not bugged. Admins being able to destroy bases that nobody else can is not a bug, it's a quality of life feature for owners of the server. It's pretty unsavory that you, as a fellow admin, essentially abused your admin connection to free yourself from that outplay, and implied that you would use other admins to commit siege-actions outside of siege hours for you in the future; it's just another reason why admins should be hesitant to participate in tournaments they are hosting. And if they DO participate in their own tournaments, they should always defer to impartial players in gameplay disputes.
No, the siege hours were live the first four hours of the tournament. There is a known bug where your computer clock counters castle heart hours which is why 80% of the playerbase were destroying castle hearts you can see it in chat. We should have let the admin key the heart but I was confused and wanted to keep playing. Admins have no special siege powers, the fact that the admin could key the heart at that time also proves this.

Yup, I learned a ton this tournament. I was one of the first players into merciless copper ~ I 100% should have went to get iron and cotton but I couldn't focus day 1. Thank God Day 2 was a popoff becoming top 3.
while i do enjoy these videos and i want them to keep coming, i admit it does frustrate me alot to see you constantly lose focus and go for things that arent needed at all. the moment u see a player your mind just goes blank and you start wasting tons of time for a few scraps you could have already farmed in a few minutes yourself.
just feels weird for someone who has played this game so much and seen these high level players play the game yourself to be wasting so much time in a "tournament" setting.
just feel like you need to concentrate more on your actual progression rather than pvp so much before. but as i said, i do love the videos, just want you to succeed more :)

I am content in many regards to get into random pvp and take unnecessary fights but this tournament I basically lost all forward momentum until Day 2 where I made a miraculous comeback. I solemnly swear to push into Iron asap next tournament and write a little sticky note on my screen to dodge a fight once in a while haha.
Just finished watching the whole thing. I wanted to wait to comment until I saw it all happen. I think the plan this run was really poor, and your focus was terrible. Raiding being open so early, I think the right play would have been bear, quincey, build base in T3. I could have killed Octavian by the time you spend 3 hours killing clive. I mean literally, I can kill Octavian in 3.5 hours. Just put that into perspective. You spent literally hours at Clive pvping. Once you saw that there was 5 people there regularly, you need to make an audible and change your plan. The goal on these servers is to do a boss way ahead of when others will want to, and then sweep around and clean up the ones you skipped after everyone else has already done it and there's little contesting them. It's 3.5 hours and you have no keeley or wolf. Those bosses aren't skippable, you have to get them at some point. I dunno man, love the content, and I'll keep watching because you are the best V Rising content creator at the moment, but this 4 hours was really hard to watch. You keep saying you are making pro progression plays and outplays across the board and making huge pickups, but I just see an incredible amount of wasted time, poor strategy and terrible decision making. You are talented in duels, but the strategy, logic, decision making and focus are like 1/10. Maybe it's for the content, but I think great content is ruined by really bad choices. Spending 4 hours and getting almost nothing done in terms of "pro progression" isn't a good run, or video. Hope you take this all well, I know it's hard to take criticism. I hear day 2 is better, so I'll watch that next. This one was a dumpster fire. Someone somewhere could be in T2/T3 with 10 forges pumping out iron, and 3 full chests of cotton by now, pushing level 60.
Hhahaha Jim honestly it is easy to take criticism for me, especially when it is so perfectly accurate. I always read every comment and constructive criticism and I am so thankful I have a community who wants to help me succeed. I couldn't agree more with everything you said and to be honest I nearly stopped streaming several times for Day 1 because I just couldn't focus and I felt low energy and I was baffled by my own inability to actually get anything done.
Let me know what you thought of Day 2, I honestly believe I would have been top 3 this tournament had we extended a day. Cheers and thank you for your time 🥰

How is that stream sniping? He spent 3 hours at clive. He wasn't sniping anything, he was just trolling people horselording clive and stealing every horse he could. That guy was the best part about this 4 hour dumpster fire of a run.

Sure thing bud, either you're the douche doing it or you've the same morals, so gg. One thing I agree with is that it was a dumpster fire run, attention span of a gnat doesn't help him ^^
Look at where Strange’s base is. It’s right on the main road. Also, the Polora fight and the error with the base expansion took less time than the stream is delayed. The guy just wandered past.
Oh and people keep saying it, but your chests are brutal. Seriously, just build a chest at each refining station and put stuff related to that refiner in the chest. Then you know where stuff is. It's not hard man. Don't just put down a chest and dump random sh1t in it. You had stacks of the same item in various chests, that's just wasting so much of your time. I don't know how you play like this and still haven't fixed it. It's super easy to fix. It's like watching someone play world of warcraft and manually clicking all their abilities on the hotbar. It's that basic.
