the differences are SO subtle. the main thing I notice is that the Moollon sounds SLIGHTLY beefier with more low end, but again, super small difference. Couldn't go wrong with any of these
I own Fender 72, Mooloon P4 classic and Olinto P4 recently. Tone wise there are somewhat same :-). The difference to me is the ergonomy. Olinto has more flat neck profile and is substantially lighter-weight than the other two (in my case). I find Olinto to be easier to play, Moollon is a bit naughtier. Olinto has much more defined attack with the tone rolled off. Moollon is a bit muddier with the tone down. Both are fantastic and I would choose either over the original 72 (which is just a fantastic bass too but for different reasons).
Great Video! Best overall is the Olinto- even/smooth tone and full mids. The Moollon is next best- nice and open sound, but a bit thin sounding. Then comes the 65- sounded good, but probably suffers from an unexceptional pickup. CBS started machine winding early on and also skimped on wire, losing some tonal richness. Last is the Fender Custom Shop- the quarter sawn neck dampens and takes away warmth and P Bass character.
The differences are really subtle. The Custom Shop sounded shockingly good! The Moollon sounded like it had less output than the rest. I’ve never played one but I heard a Moollon jazz bass once and it had great sustain. The Olinto had a great low end.
This video is helpful and you’re playing was great. Thanks for sharing. For me, it’s a tie between the Olinto and the Moollon, but the CS sounds the best with the tone rolled off. I’m surprised at how underwhelmed I was with the vintage Fender.
All 4 basses sounded great, but the 65 really has the best low-end and definition. The Olinto sounded surprisingly close compared to the 65... WOW !! The CS59 had a lot of lowend but not as much definition as the others, but it's a great fat tone ! The moollon definitely had the most brightness and definition. Maybe too much for my taste...The « snap » is because of ebony instead of rosewood. Chill out with all the hype on these basses! ;) I would love to hear another demo with a band mix or at least with drums !
The '65 is kind of the benchmark in that that's what La Bella, Moollon and Fender's CS are trying to emulate. That Olinto had a noticeable low end richness to it; perhaps a little deeper than even the '65. I own a Moollon P4 and I love it. The craftsmanship is truly next level. The note sustain is almost shocking. I particularly appreciate the feel of it and that the neck is chunky but not too chunky. It must be super interesting to play all of these side by side, as I am sure they each have their own unique feel to them, as well as tone. I've read that the Olinto necks have some significant girth to them; more so than Moollon. I'd like to hear more about how they compare feel-wise and how they play, now that we've heard them. Thanks for sharing - and wow, what a nice collection of basses!
with tone 100% moolon was just somewhat deeper. no tone, fender was softer and close to vintage sound. All so close and all sound good. Seems like some EQ could bring anyone of them to the sound you're looking for. Different strings would also be another factor.
to my ears they are exactly the same, I am sorry.... Therefore: the original one is out of budjet, and CS would be my first choice for it holds better resale value.
@@MingQu I did not mention the obvious fact that all 4 are awesome, I just feel that at this point the differences are more nuances than real departures from the "tone".

Hello ! I prefer 1965 Fender PB, thank you very much ;-)

I like Moollon too

all 4 are great, great collection
Thank you!
All basses are top!!!!
But my opinion is next:
1. Fender vintage
2. Olinto
3. Fender CS
4. Moollon
Sorry, i think
they all sounded amazing but the Fender 59 CS ran away with it. My favorite tone wise.
For me the one that sounds better is the Olinto
Olinto all the way!!
I think the 65 sounds the best. Next is the Olinto…Moolon and CS

Very well done! That Moolon really sounded great!
Fender CS won it for me... by a microscopic margin
Fender did it in 65' All hail the Mighty Fender, simplicity done right✌️

try NYBW (new york bass works) basses.. you'll sell all your other basses.. they're the best. great video

Olinto bass growls... lovely tone... Thx for the video. what was your best?
I llike them all, they are different, this is not a "which is better" question for me.
Awesome! Great video 👍
Nice comparison! What is the Olinto fingerboard wood?
Madagascar Rosewood
Fender 65' with that low tone
The Moollon comes in first.
Nice videos
Olinto > Moollon > vintage > custom shop
真好
我来了,老师。给你从内网点赞到外网哈哈哈哈
哇哈哈,多谢多谢
Fender '65
May I know all of the bass use the same strings?
Yeah, all Elixir 45-100,that’s the basic rule of a comparison video.
@@MingQu Thank you!
Lots of people are making bad comparisons out there haha you'd be surprised . Thanks for video

Oops I always thought it was Mollooon not Mooolon. 😂
Moollon.

Well, this is a persontal taste thing, everyone should believe their ears. Thanks for your comment😄

Moollon’s typically sell for $1000-1500 over the price for a new bass. I would say that the opposite is true for CS.
