Hello My Family Garden .We live on Vancouver Island Home to the worlds largest collection of slugs .Nematodes are awesome .Balanced land using Bio Char and wood ash works awesome . leaving a large flat board in the garden will attract the slug to the cool wet area under the large flat board .Lift up board and dispose of slugs by turning the muscovie ducks and chickens loose . If no duck or chicken then pick them up or spread a little wood ash on them . Slug slime is a powerful anti cancer .Much love and respect . Howie
Hi Howie, as always you're full of a wealth of information, i've been using wood ash, and my brother has stated making bio char based on your advice. thanks you so much
Someone asked me if I sell nematodes last week. I’ve seen them under the microscope in castings. I might need to look into that more. Thanks for sharing!
“It’s kind of gruesome, I know” 😂 I’ve been attempting to keep on top of the slugs with my sand moat around the garden and also by trapping them with pea leaves on the ground, which they love, then smashing them. If things get bad I might try nematodes, so thanks for this great instructional video.
i have to warn you, monty, manchester slugs are hard nuts to crack. watch out for the nasty ones. they wear string vests and bowler hats. lol..............brian
Are you still using nemasys slug control after 3 years and how have you found it? I was wondering if slugs were wiped out the next year as well due to them (slugs)not being able to lay eggs.
Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi wabarakatu how are you brother hope you’re ok. Just wanted to ask a few questions 1) what happens to the adult nematodes? 2) do they reproduce and start the cycle again or do I need to buy more regularly? 3) how effective has it been for you? 4) is it for slugs and snails? 5) have you done an update video on this if so which one? Jazakallah brother I have found your videos extremely useful
If you like what you see don't forget to hit the like and subsribe for regular updates!
You can buy nematodes from amzn.to/2LEbOs8
Oh man I'm so soft hearted idk if I can do this now that I know what happens!!! LOL!!
Lol, you could always pick them and feed them to the chickens...
@@MyFamilyGarden LOL I can't even do that! I get sad LOL. My chickens won't eat them anyway but my ducks sure will!
I know, it makes me sad too. I pick them and quickly smash them with a rock so that at least it’s over quickly, but it’s no fun 😝
Interesting method and it's organic ..👍
Thank you for sharing this information
Have a great evening
Thanks for watching really appreciate it
@@MyFamilyGarden you're welcome
Great alternative Monty. Thanks for sharing friend! 💚👍🏻🌱
Thanks for watching really appreciate it
Great information, Monty and a great tool in a multi-pronged attack on pests.
Rob
thanks brother, it's the first time i'm trying them so we'll see how i get on

Thanks for the wood ash suggestion.
Great information Monty! We get a ton of slugs here too. Thank you for sharing dear
Thanks Brenda, they've been an absolute nightmare this year
Same, we have those slimy vermin here as well...
They're such a pain
It is a gribbly thought Monty but a good alternative to slug pellets, great video 😊
Thanks Bethan, at least it won't harm the environment in the same way
Thanks again for another beneficial vid to rid those nasty pests. 👍❤
Slugs are my worst nightmare, they destroyed so many plants
Great info Monty 👍thanks for sharing 🙂🦋🐝
Thanks Jackie
Great video
Thanks Paul

Totally ordering, thank you, now about the beetles! I never newny of this, so TY , monty!
I'v seen a difference in the last couple of weeks since I started using it. Thanks so much for watching
Thank you. 👌💕
Learning something new, thank you my friend.

I'v tried a lot of predatory approaches and failed this year simply because it's been so wet. So had to try something new. Thanks for watching
Hi Mothin, is it working? And just wondered what these creatures eat? Double tasking. So sorry if I missed that bit.
Hi Sharon, i think it worked really well last year, not needed anything this year so far because of how dry it's been
0:20 Be careful PETA can hear you. They are listening everywhere!
Another good organic method is to use beer traps.
Who's PETA?
@@MyFamilyGarden People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
@@SmallGardenQuest lol 🤣😂🤣 they can't be any worse than some of the right wing nutters I get
In that case I'm sure they'll behave ethically with me...
Found ya at the bee lady...my new friend 😊

LMAO! I think I might be winning!
Lol I saw that film as a kid then watched it a couple of years ago after it was edited down, it’s not the same ☹️
@@frankcoldwell4424 what film? Am I missing something?
A Clockwork Orange.
@@frankcoldwell4424 never seen it
Thanks brother where can I buy some from?
Jazakallah for watching you can get them here amzn.to/2LEbOs8
Wish i could buy that brand in the States...
Is there something similar?
I haven’t found it yet

I need this for my strawberries
It does make a difference
to date, i STILL haven't used any slug pellets...................brian
How have you managed that? That's amazing
@@MyFamilyGarden i can only assume its down to attracting birds into the garden ( or i scare them because i need a shave. lol ).............brian
@@briansgardenandpolytunnel8172 i'v not been seeing as many brown ones the last couple of years but a lot of green/yellow ones and small grey ones
@@MyFamilyGarden if the green and yellow is in patches, they are leopard slugs. they eat other slugs................brian
@@briansgardenandpolytunnel8172 it's not the leopard slug it's the other on that looks similar, I wish I had leopard slugs
Great...and snails? Just heard you mention snails yay! Trying to increase biodiversity to see if this will help manage the slug population next year
They need applying a couple of time in a season but you can make them for free
@@MyFamilyGarden 😯. OooooooooO how?
Did it work
Are them poor slugs they were enjoying your juicy strawberries 😂never herd of that stuff before great information to get rid of slugs
They had plenty of my strawberries! Used to have to throw away a bowl full every day last few weeks! No more lol
