Free Brad
UA-cam has struggled with the concept of fair use for years now. It started with horror story narration channels back in 2015 and since then it seems like every type of video has had issues with it too. That Google legal department is lazy

I hope Brad doesn't stop posting bc of UA-cam's bullshit shenanigans. He 100% deserves to have a platform here, what he does is extremely transformative and valuable. His criticisms are so good and really make me think deeper about what I listen to.
Honestly Brad would be much bigger on Twitch, even if he had to start from scratch. Simply a way better platform for streaming.

Ethan has had loads of videos critical of him, and never threatens to sue, but then he's heard that there are things in that video that rose to defamation. Just because Ethan appreciates fair use, he doesn't have to just let people blatantly defame him.
Can't remember what Ethan said about that fund. I know he had a reasonable explanation, but people just want to hate on him. I'm irritated with him for other reasons, but important to be honest and fair about things

This is why most react to music on Twitch or other platforms. They don’t have to worry about getting claimed. You play it during the stream and they mute it in the vod. I am surprised he made it this long on UA-cam. Hopefully, they fix this.

UA-cam is biased when it comes to big artists like Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift, the UA-cam app itself promote their stuff on YT Shorts through ads, and if any other content creator like Brad uses the copyrighted music in their videos, even it is fair use and only for constructive critiquing purposes, they get banned like this. It is so absurd.
I'm surprised it took this long. He basically plays 90% of an album while talking periodically. I like his content but, it does not seem like fair use to my limited knowledge. He does take money and I've watched plenty of his VODs so I don't know why he says the opposite.

@fundude6127 Are you a lawyer? Cause if not odds are you know as much as me. I can tell you this though. You'll lose rights to a song over a 2 second instrumental you didn't clear. That's not speculation, you can hear music producers discuss how it happened to them. Say what you want, Brad puts a large percentage of other people's music in his videos. Sometimes he says nothing. He ABSOLUTELY takes money and even does viewer sponsored album reviews. I can't rent a movie, play the entire movie for a group of people, and call it a movie review. That's what the FBI warning at the beginning of DVDs/VHS tapes back in the day said. So how is playing an entire album for a few thousand people on the internet and calling it a "review" any different? He has obtained no permission from anyone and frankly is just some random dude who's opinion doesn't matter outside of his fan group. I like his content and his persona but he's really stretching fair use if not outright breaking it.
The UA-cam copyright system is so stupid. Genuinely entertaining creators like Brad should not be paying for it.

if UA-cam doesnt fix their goofy ahh website the solution for Brad would be moving back to Twitch. But I highly doubt UA-cam has enough intelligence to retract thier automatic system decision. At this point I dont believe there are any humans left in youtube, all of them are robots or replaced by an AI.

I'm late, but if this was going to happen to anyone it was brad taste in music. He puts all his eggs in one basket by streaming entire albums for hours on end. Not sure why this was a shock to so many people.

listen, i like brad, I've watched his streams for years. But let's not pretend he's not playing in the TOS edge. In basically every stream he plays some songs for their entire duration without commentary. He has a procedure for when the stream takes a hit because it happens so often. Obviously youtube is not cool with his business model. Is copyright law as written dumb? Absolutely. But it's still the law, and youtube has to make a good faith effort to play ball or uncle sam gets pissed.

Live reacting to uncut, freshly released music is not an edge case or an accident, it's damn near textbook. I'm sorry, if it were up to me it'd be allowed, but that's the law.
lol its so comical to me when left leaning people thought they would never be affected, now its happening and theyre losing it. Maybe people would be more willing to stand up for it, if you didnt let it slide when it happened to them years ago. Or if some of them werent on the forefront of banning certain types of music because of the lyrics. I do not care. Also the videos ive seen he doesnt even review the whole thing, granted I havent seen a ton of his content. But the videos ive seen he listens to between 5 to 30 seconds of a song then judges it. If you were the artist, you'd likely be pissed the guy is making money on such shitty takes on your work.
People should have learned when they pushed the wider clear net to absolutely not allow the sale of certain albums the censorship was coming full circle. It doesnt stop at just NSBM or OI or whatever.
