Hey Steve, I was the Italian guy with the Lancer. I did that stupid mistake on the final laps because I shredded the front tyres and had tons of understeer... It was a shitty race of mine also... Hope to have another race (maybe in the front even if you are way faster😅😅)

The only reason I would doubt that is the frequency of some tracks being picked over others. We'll know when we get Samba bus on SS Route X, or something.
@@Loctorak only if you think that it’s randomised from a group of all tracks and cars. If it’s just set up with most tracks, and only some car classes per race, A, B and C, certain tracks coming up surprisingly often is actually stronger evidence of real randomness.

the pit stop feels like the Joker Lap on Rallycross races. I wouldn't call it pointless. in fact, the point of it is exactly to get clear air. for example, you can pit early to get clean air and floor, if the guy ahead of you is hard to pass
Yes, agreed. The main point of it is to avoid traffic I guess. Still, it's quite funny watching all of the pitstop mechanics stand there doing nothing!

Its so slowwwww this week and the car is such a drama queen when shifting its weight (controller), so if I make any sudden movements while turning I'll fling myself to another dimension and attempting to make up any ground at all is humiliating cause I could walk up the back straight faster than that car red-lines it.

The "pointless" pit stop actually helped me win at least 3 times here- by jumping others during pitting. I don't know if other players were aware, that you don't actually need to change tires. Just roll into pits, select "Don't change" and obviously "no refuel". Saves you close to 2 seconds. Not an awful lot, but just enough to exit pit before the guy that pitted in front of you (as long as you were less than 2 seconds behind)

Reminds me a lot of the days I spent on Project Cars 2, don’t know how many 7 lap races I did with a pointless mandatory pitstop. Especially when the soft compound in the GT3 class could last 20-25..
The video title really drew me in. The assessment that the pit stop was pointless is a fair conclusion to draw. I wonder how much time PD spends on the drawing board with these daily race combos. Okay that's enough for this long, drawn out comment.
I know in the GT3-WEC and in the US there are mandatory Pitstops... usually, I believe they are for driver changes, but I know I heard a rule about that somewhere, maybe they are emulating this or something.
The Mazda Atenza (Mazda 6 here in Colombia) has always been a popular choice as a sedan. As a racer car, though? I can't really say that it's slow, it's just that there are better choices out there, as Steve discovered during the first race.
I always wondered about your car choice - I would try them all, decide which ones are for tight, medium and big tracks since the performance points don't always get it right..
