- A major report by Save the Children has found that one girl under the age of 15 is married every seven seconds. The study says girls as young as 10 are forced to marry much older men in countries including Afghanistan, Yemen, India and Ethiopia. Model Poppy Delevingne has been to Ethiopia to talk to some young girls about their experiences.

No, in true Save the Children has already significantly helped these women, but the BBC intentionally recorded them in their formerly lowly state to agitate pathos and awareness of this issue.

The rules are different if the country is impoverished. For one thing, families can marry off their daughters at the early stages of adolescence because they feel like they need the money more than they need an education. Basically, when you're desperate you'll stoop to anything.
Also, there are cases where you are considered a full fledged adult once you've reached puberty.
