Caffeine seems to have a dramatic effect on my energy levels and my dopamine two or three years ago. I decided to give it up because we went on a cruise and since then I’ve also attempted to give it up multiple times with varying levels of success, but the one thing I noticed, every time is three or four days afterwards, my energy levels go through the roof higher to no caffeine in my system. My dopamine and overall enjoyment of life is much higher noticeably higher. It’s just so freaking hard to give up if I could do it all over again 15 years ago, I would never, start drinking energy drinks
3 weeks cold Turkey from weed, nicotine and caffeine( 400mg) daily. Had a heart palpitation and then a horrible panic attack filled Week. I DONT recommend cold turkey but definitely quit eventually. Being stimulant free is self Liberating and feels amazing. No “ come downs”
@@Keviekev115 I stopped cold turkey for caffeine a couple years ago, it really opened my eyes to realizing that I was addicted. Caffeine was the cause of my anxiety, mood swings, poor sleep at night digestive issues, and other things. Recently I’ve been having a single cup of coffee on Saturday morning’s, and that cup still makes me have withdrawal symptoms for the next few days after and it’s terrible. I wish more people would quit drinking caffeine just to see what it feels like to be normal again

I gotta clap back a little to Andrew's Point on Zyns. I used to be a vape fiend. Was going though the largest disposables in less than a week. Taking a hit probably at least every hour while at work or every couple minutes while at home. Thank God for good friends that incessantly bullied me to get off of the vape and just try Zyns. That was less than 6 months ago and now I'm at just around 2-3x 3mg a day. Recently had a super busy day at work and only had a single one after work. Now I'm at such a low amount I hardly feel any physically discomfort if I go long periods without nicotine. Before After a few hours I would start to feel uncomfortable. Hard to accurately describe nicotine withdrawal, just a general discomfort, uneasy feeling or mild anxiety, and occasional ache.
Yeah the hardest part of nicotine withdrawal is the lack of productivity. Especially if you need to perform at work, it’s hard. I’d recommend quitting on vacation or something.
I just stopped one day. The withdrawal was 100% mental. It’s really not bad dude. Just stop. If you can afford a few days to stick to yourself, that’s even better. Stopping caffeine, is infinitely harder to stop than nicotine At least in my experience
@@seanfrancis7101 That's pretty interesting, I had the opposite experience. Nicotine withdrawal was way more intense for me, but both withdrawals lasted about the same duration ~ around three to four days and I was feeling human again.
I stopped drinking coffee 4 weeks ago. I only drink thea. I have more energy, sleep better and I feel more social. Mornings can be tough because i would rather have the wake up boost from coffee than from thea but it is absolutely worth it
This is the problem with pre workout supplements with me. Every since I started taking a pre workout or some kind of caffeine back in 2012, I can now almost exclusively never workout without it. It's 100% an kind of addiction/habit. What's weird is I had the motivation to go workout everytime, but I still needed the hit to crush the workout. It's gotta be some kind of mental acuity for me.
Bro same. I used to get upset when I’d drink the recommended serving scoop and didn’t feel the effects kick in because of tolerance. Then taking more than the standard scoop became the only way to feel satisfied. Then that came with stomach aches and feeling jittery and dehydration and not being able to sleep properly and recover. Eventually I stopped going to the gym and now im realizing pre work out played a factor in my loss of interest in exercise for a while. I drink a small redbull before I work out and it’s more for a placebo effect for me. Pre workout made me go up and down and crave more caffeine
I respect Joe Rogan's philosophy. He won't play music during workouts because listening to music gets you pumped up, and then your motivation isn't internal--it's external--so in his eyes its cheating. While I don't do it myself, I respect the heck out of being able to work out and do these intense, excruciating things, with nothing but internal self-motivation. It's very monk-like, applied to the modern world.
Whatever gets you to the gym and to workout, just do it. I’m so tired of these health and fitness influencers always trying to one up each other and find the next “hack” based on “science”. Let me just live my fucking life and enjoy my coffee
The cool thing is that your body will give you the requisite dopamine to start and finish a good workout all on its own, without the music. That's the magic of the brain. Adding music only makes music required to preform the task. The hard thing is you need to do the practice consistently in order for your body to want to do the practice consistently lol
My problem is I need caffeine to focus. I have adhd but I don’t take medication. But caffeine helps my mind just narrow down to one thing instead of being scattered brained constantly. Yes I sleep well, exercise and eat healthy for those curious
I mean I’ve done that basically for years I was a blackjack dealer from 6pm to 4am so that’s high speed math while people try to steal and cheat so I had to be on the ball I also drank a vitamin water and at least 2 bottles of water throughout the day though and sometimes ate a steak after work but otherwise I didn’t have time to eat on work days and I’m still alive
I will say that caffeine is a stimulant that I tend to rely on but I have also found a balance when using it because I try to manage my tolerance. Moderating the amount I take helps the caffeine to work better without having to use such a large amount.
I use the “effort is the reward” “you are doing good” “get comfortable in the discomfort” 10%+ improve for progressively overload. My cold shower at home is not cold enough; I tank that shit so hard with no problems.
Sleep, exercise, good diet, good friends, family, water, sunlight in the morning. The pillers of health. I don't drink caffeine and work 45 to 50 hours a week.
For the example that he gave for nicotine pouches where people titrate up to like half a can a day, it isn’t even necessarily addiction but increasing tolerance very quickly like in two weeks someone who is completely nicotine naive will no longer get a buzz from a 6mg dose of nicotine regardless of the state of addiction
As a recent Zyn user I disagree about not getting a buzz after a month if they’re completely new to nicotine. Personally, I’m pretty sensitive to Nic, and started w/ 3 mg and that stopped having a significant effect, but with a 6mg I’ll still get dizzy/overstimulated if I keep it in too long
To gain the love and attention of women, who would willingly make themselves a groupie, is fruitless and bleak. The best method is to find a very beautiful and human woman who will be your friend and partner. The former type will stick around but lie, cheat, steal
I gave up coffee a few days ago and this caffeine. Getting over the headache stage. I’ve given up caffeine before because I consider it being addicted to a drug. I drink coffee because it makes me happy. I think it’ll take a few weeks for my dopamine levels to reset.
I can’t imagine spending all this time thinking about taking caffeine in the morning before a workout or before work. It’s so simple and 99% of what he’s saying will not be considered after this video is over. Wake up, drink a cup of coffee, go workout, maybe have a second maybe not, then go to work. Repeat.
Right, I was so shocked to hear it like what is this guy on. Millions of people strugling to get off from a high that offers very little and depending on the form is incredibly unhealthy. Oh right I forgot he said he took nicotine so probably trying to justify his use.
@Tilmann5138 no it isn't. Most pre workout supplements pack ~180mg of caffeine per serving. 2 servings of those a day and you would be off your head 😂
I do rely on music and preworkout while lifting/training 6-7 days a week at 0430. I really have no choice being in Law Enforcement and a family man. 10-15 hour shifts almost 7 days a week with my other assignments. I wish I could have time to mediate, relax, slowly warm up. 0-100 for now, probably not the most optimal.
Submariner here, bro we are not the norm as you know. Not saying it's impossible to live without it, but you can't compare a Dr.Hubermans delusions of granger targeted to desk workers. To work 12-16 shifts and get 4 hours of sleep a day you aren't going to be human without caffeine. It's just a matter of trying to use it as least as possible in the most healthy way. Hope this helps brother.
Once i gave all of this stuff up, i magically didn’t need it anymore. I am less tired now than I was when I drank energy drinks every morning. A single cup of coffee can have me awake for 24 hours now.
Save caffeine for a couple times a week at most. I Mountain Bike and ride motocross, save it for those days so I can maximize my focus when I’m flying down a hill at 30+ MPH. Everything else I just do with no stimulants like weight lifting, cardio, and any other exercsie
Drinking coffee with 3mg zyn watching this . I didn’t find much side effects to justify stopping zyn . Very habit forming , but helps a lot with depression and does help me stay motivated and alert throughout the day . I do take two while at the gym (about 2 hrs) , helps a lot with anxiety .
honestly the way i look at it is, yes caffeine and nicotine and drugs but they aren't intoxicants, they don't impair your judgment, we don't live a simplistic hunter gatherer life anymore and the industrial world we live in was literally built on caffeine and nicotine so I'm not ashamed of ripping chinos and caffeine pills.
I been using 16mg pouches for 7 years. Just can't shake it off because of the withdrawals. Horrible brain fog, headache, depression, anxiety etc. I feel like I should lock myself in for few weeks - like heroin addicts to kick it for good. It's crazy, I know people who use 30mg pouches and seen 50mg pouches in vape stores.
Nicotine pouches messed up my teeth/gums BAD. They caused me to have excruciating tooth sensitivity for about 8 months after I stopped using them. During the 1.5 years I used them the dentist recorded some bone loss around the teeth in the area where the pouches would rest in my mouth.
I drink coffee because my wife makes it in the morning, but ive been using guarana for probably about 5 years and i prefer it for a daily caffeine dose. There is, however, a difference in caffeine effect from coffee to guarana, both with their own unique "benefits".
I drink caffeine daily before /during work. However, I have found that drinking caffeine prior to my preferred form of exercise (kickboxing) actually decreases my performance.
Find it strange in the west we are so focused on things we can take to get work done..life is a one way trip learn to chill more i would suggest is more important
Consider adding large amounts of b vitamins (please research any interactions with other things you're taking). The energy drinks were working on my depression, so I added b vitamins for a long period! Anecdotally I use a niacin macro dose (you'll be itchy; sustained high usage like that can be hard on your liver; take it easy!) and it snapped the depression out for a while. It was pretty amazing to me that it worked at all. Maybe you're like me where the b vitamins are actually the part of the drink that is helping you the most.
I mostly drink green tea because of The other health benefits and taste, plus it Can aid in your oral health (although stained teeth are probably inevitable when consumed regularly). But The slight caffeine boost is much preferred to drinking coffee, and helps with focus without being “too much”
What about ginseng and Maca peruana? Do they have the same downsides of the substances discussed in this clip? They seem like great alternative forms of stimulants
... Ok saying don't rely on something and saying he uses something for a purpose at a certain time are two totally different things.. using caffeine for the gym only as a tool to enhance your workout is not relying on caffeine, he can workout without it but it just makes it better he's talking about the people that drink 6 monsters a day but people nowadays have no distinction between anything its just one extreme or the other but your entitled to your own perception! 🤷
Coffee has a ton of other compounds besides caffeine, so it can still be beneficial. Most notably, it can improve insulin sensitivity and also actually reduce cortisol.
I drink one cup of coffee in the morning, usually with dark chocolate or sweet chocolate. Don't see any problem in it. But when I started to use guarana in pre-workout stacks and even at work only then I began to feel that something is wrong. Last two or three months I use guarana very rarely and now I don't even know if I like it. It holds it's place in the refrigerator and that's all.
Caffeine can’t be classed as addictive. The withdrawal isn’t life altering or life threatening. The withdrawal from more serious drugs makes the use dangerously addictive.
The moral of the story is stop relying on man made things to enhance the body and eat a well balanced diet of mostly whole foods, and rely on what God gave us to use as motivation. The body will self regulate and be at its best if you eat right, exercise, get sunlight everyday and get enough sleep. All other man made things take us away from God's power to help our bodies. Just my opinion like all things people say. Anything anyone says is just their own opinion. Have a great day, and God bless.
My protocol is pre-workout 200mg and 3mg zyn at 3:45am. Zyn at 4:50am Zyn at 5:50am Reign Storm Citrus flavor 200mg to compliment Zyn 6am Zyn at 8am Zyn and black 16oz coffee 9:30am Zyn at 11am 16oz of coffee or monster ultra(white)180mg 12:30pm and also Zyn Zyn at 1:30pm Zyn at 2:30pm(Left arm starts to hurt) Zyn at 4:30pm Zyn maybe at 6pm It's probably way worse than smoking like 3 cigarettes during a work day.
As someone who doesn't drink tea/coffee/energy drinks, i can tell you that you don't need it. I work on construction sites and everyone runs off the stuff. Even with all the caffeine, they end up more tired through the day.
Caffeine is a very deceiving drug that I use to take a lot of. I would put caffeine pills in my mountain dew...that's how bad I was. I'm so at peace now without it.
I think the bigger problem is everyone around the world has to run themselves into the ground to keep up with the day to day that modern civilization has created. And in the western world, we have a variety of stimulants to artificially keep up with our jobs and what we perceive to be a normal lifestyle.

I’m going to be honest. I am taking Phentermine (for weight loss) and it has been amazing it has helped me clear my mind of ‘food noise’ I am more calm and way more motivated to get things done and not be so depressed. If you’re chemically off balance, sometimes stimulants can be extremely beneficial.
What worked for me for weight loss & control of food cravings was fasting. I saw there was a guy who went over a year. Went from morbidly obesity to being a normal guy. The craziest part is the weight never came back, and the skin snapped back. Most band procedures & drugs cause the skin to sag and hang after losing so much weight. The skin seemed to snap back easy & he never got fat again I heard this, and went over a week of just water, no food. There’s no cravings because you are literally making it a point to not eat. You can do this yourself Just thought o would share
@@seanfrancis7101 hey! I did the same I fasted 4-5 days for around 3 months. I am so young (18 years old) that it’s just not worth to decline my health even more!! If it works for you, that’s great!! I ended up having long term insomnia from high cortisol due to fasting. I think the biggest difference is sugars. The fasting was nice at the beginning but just led to binging the more time went on. The less sugar I have the less I crave. The medication I’m on just helps with food noise, and suppresses my appetite. But yeah if it works for you totally keep sticking with it!

I work 40+ hours a week as an autotech, am studying electrical engineering, and completely support myself and live on my own. I have a lot on my plate, and get panic attacks without it. But with Adderall, I feel like I'm just able to manage. I was put on Adderall when I was only 15 though, so I worry that it would take me too long to return to baseline, and I'd let everything slip while trying to get off. And maybe my brain never has a baseline that allows me to live to my potential and adhd is real after all... Idk

Then I will do my mid day exercise which depending on the day is MMA, Strength or cardio or a combination of those. Then in the afternoon I will do my physical work around the house. Lawncare, painting, repairs or building something. Then its supper time. Another walk right after supper with my dog to help with keeping glucose levels down. The wind down for the night. You should taper down. You can do 6 Red Bulls today, 5 tomorrow, 4 the next, until you’re down to 1 a day. That way, your body/brain can adjust/adapt slowly & you won’t feel so miserable. Even if you just stick to one a day, that’s much much better than six. You’re risking a heart attack and/or diabetes. I know it’s hard & that the side effects are rough, but you’ll be surprised how good you feel after your body isn’t dependent on Red Bull (caffeine, sugar, etc).
I'm also a registered healthcare professional and it's pretty basic knowledge anything we put in our lungs is bad. So stick to the zynth and taper off
I just stopped one day. The withdrawal was 100% mental. It’s really not bad dude. Just stop. If you can afford a few days to stick to yourself, that’s even better.

What kind of tea
Your tea could have caffeine in it
This is the problem with pre workout supplements with me.
I listen to David Goggins audiobooks.
Golden Era bodybuilders like Arnold Schwarzenegger would mention that at golds gym there was no music playing. maybe there is something to this.
The cool thing is that your body will give you the requisite dopamine to start and finish a good workout all on its own, without the music. That's the magic of the brain. Adding music only makes music required to preform the task. The hard thing is you need to do the practice consistently in order for your body to want to do the practice consistently lol
I think it was David Goggins that said it first and Joe was quoting him
My problem is I need caffeine to focus. I have adhd but I don’t take medication. But caffeine helps my mind just narrow down to one thing instead of being scattered brained constantly.
Yes I sleep well, exercise and eat healthy for those curious
Have bad ADHD and honestly it's more effective than the meds

I will say that caffeine is a stimulant that I tend to rely on but I have also found a balance when using it because I try to manage my tolerance. Moderating the amount I take helps the caffeine to work better without having to use such a large amount.
I use the “effort is the reward” “you are doing good” “get comfortable in the discomfort” 10%+ improve for progressively overload. My cold shower at home is not cold enough; I tank that shit so hard with no problems.

I drink six Red Bull sometime more a day. I do not know why I feel like they don’t do nothing for me, but if I don’t take them, drink them I get headaches. I have a really bad down feeling it’s crazy. I don’t know what to do.
I knew someone that had a 2 liter of Coke with all his meals.. he kicked the habit by switching to green tea. He lost 45 pounds QUICK & never felt better
@@alexpearson2920 yes that’s what I’m starting to do because I tell you why I feel like I got this brain fog. I have no motivation but I’m forcing myself because I really want this to work 630 right now and I’m drunk and two bottles of water, lemon water and I’m bout to go for a walk.
I can take 20min cold shower after a workout and 10min of sun exposure and head right to bed 🥲
what actually happens
> double down
> ball out
500mg of caffeine is almost 3x the recommended amount LOL! He doesn't quit the caffeine because the withdrawl at those doses is BRUTAL. I konw from personal experience, I'm down to like 150-300 mg.
how we still listen to the guy who advertised athletic greens?
Who remembers 1,3-DMAA? That stuff made me feel like I could run through walls.
Switching from 2mg of nicotine to 2 min of Goggins yelling at you will do. :D
Ya I work nights and am really caffeine dependent….can’t really sleep past like maybe 5-6 hours if I’m lucky most of the time it’s 4 or less….. will say switching to non stimulants pre workout at the end of my shift has been helpful….find something with some nootropics and I can still guy thru some HIT and go to sleep after
A few months ago, I was drinking one Red Bull a day for a week in addition to the usual sodas like Coke and Pepsi. After some private activities, I started to get severe pains in the back of my head, my heart felt funny, and my Apple Watch showed that I was in atrial fibrillation. So scary!
I never train non caffeinated but I should really start taking an non caffeinated day to do some cardio. I think this may be the missing link here. Or a cold plunge
I’m a food addict. I’ll just drink water all day and maybe every other day have one cup of coffee from work, but when it comes to food. Yo boy needs to chill on that part.

Some supposed magic supplement made from dried vegetables costing like $50, that doesnt actually do anything. Joe Rogan promoted it too.
@@timexcape7961 Do any supplements do anything? It all just seems like roids are the only true supplement.
I love how steroid abusers tell people how bad coffee or other stimulants are. Lmao.
Lol. "Abuser" is where you're off the deep end. TRT properly dosed in response to specific levels with goals to reach reasonable specific levels within normal parameters is FAR from abuse.
Natty btw. Try not to go after a PhD who has been promoting science backed healthy approaches to fitness his entire career. Your ignorance is showing.
@@slackerr the proof is in the pudding. Believe what you want. Andrew Huberman has abused steroids in his career, and that’s a fact. He is likely stuck on the stick 💉 for the rest of his life bc of it. His skin sucks, as his body wreaks of chemical abuse. PhD lmao. He’s got a paid for education that has been filtered and watered down to fit in a ‘one size fits all’ bs package so everyone can pass. He doesn’t know anything beyond what the rest of us know, but he sure likes to make you think he does. Listening to Andrew Huberman about health and wellness is like trying to learn the Bible from Joel Osteen or learn about marriages from Jordan Peterson, or about God from Joe Rogaine.
Have you ever actually seen someone that abuses steroids? Probably not because if you had then you’d know that Andrew is far from a steroid abuser.
@@patrickdoherty5527 actually I’ve been around plenty of steroid junkies to know when I see one. The body doesn’t lie nor do the side effects.
You know how a bank teller can tell a fake bank note so easily? It’s not like they all sit on break combing over numerous fake notes they’ve collected to brush up on it. Instead, by working with the real thing so often, it’s actually pretty easy to spot a fake 😉
the meatriding is crazy lmfao.
I know I have a problem, I only work nights so I do caffeine a lot. I can drink a pre workout drink like bang with 300 mg of caffeine and fall right asleep
What exactly is the difference between a habit and addiction?
you have to force yourself to do a habit like making your bed every morning, where as you have to force yourself to NOT be an alcohol addict.
Andrew is on TRT. An unnatural stimulant. I went from 334 to 960 in around 3 months all natural no TRT. This book should be essential reading for all men. Written by a 50s guy with natural T levels of a 20s guy

@@sealedindictment All true. It can be difficult to believe when you are struggling with testosterone levels. I have been there so I know. After watching loads of content and getting nowhere I finally found someone delivering a protocol that works. Just dont expect easy instant results and expect it to be hard work.
This is why it's so difficult. Most are looking for miricle supplements that will magically 100x their testosterone and this does not exist.
He isn't on TRT. He was for a short 6 month period when he was writing a book with a TRT section but that was 3 years ago.
@@jacobhorton761 He spoke about his TRT protocol with dereck from no plates he says he started in 2021. His bulk gives him away and suggests he could have been on it longer. If he came off, he would have lost his mass. It's pretty well documented that he is still on it. 160ml of T cipionate per week split into 2 injections.
He is on 160ml of testosterone cipionate split into 2 injections per week. And hes been on it since 2021 he says. Looking at his bulky look it was obvious
So my caffeine and nicotine post workout is probably even worse. Time to cut the bullshit I guess.

Are there any studies on the effects of hot(infrared sauna)/cold(Plunge) immersion while on prescribed 40mg vyvanse, .75mg clonazepam, 40mg Propranolol aka Inderal(beta blocker)and non prescribed(obviously) 2mg nicotine pouches?
Also, do you get the same positive effects from hot/cold immersion if you’re starring at a TV/Phone screen the entire session? Versus focusing on breathing, and the mind-body connection?
Lastly, it would be great to hear Dr Rhonda’s thoughts on kratom use and comparing it as a substitute for OTC/prescription pain relievers as well as a substitute for prescription anxiety medication.
Thanks for all the great, free content! You’re helping a lot of people by creating and sharing this type of content.
stop doing drugs
I'm there's tons of studies on that haha
Don't forget to stare directly into the morning sun to maintain your circadian rhythm
You were on a lot of Vyvanse when you typed this

Im shameful to say I also will occasionally everyday consume stimulants
Today I've had 2 celciuses, and 3 cups of coffee with 2 and a half spoonfuls of instant coffee in each. I feel terrible. Caffeine doesn't help me anymore I don't get energized anymore.
And its only 2:40pm dammit.
400-500mg a day to function is clearly a problem, that’s no different than a junky on hard drugs. That’s a dependence on a substance just to make it through the day. I find it more impressive when someone can power through a day without stimulants
