i use these a lot. i rent a pasture and didn't want to dig in permanent wood posts and braces. i have half mile runs with 2, 17 gauge electric fence wires tightened by those rachet type tensioners. Speaking from experience, i initially put the brackets high up, about 6-8" from the top of the corner, as they show. with the brackets that high and wires pulling from 2 directions, once we got a heavy rain a couple times, the corner post and the brace posts pulled up and out of the ground. now i put the brackets about 1/3 of the way down on the corner t-post.
Agreed, down lower definitely works better. I also use as long of a diagonal post as I can get handy at the time. First thing I thought when I saw how high they were putting them, was, well that looks pretty to someone that hasn't tried it.

Hello Bill, T-Post bracing is not recommended for woven wire/field fence. If you are installing "large hole structure game fencing", you will need to brace your orders with wood posts. Yes, You can insert a a wedge and a socket on the same side of the collar if that fits your context. The wedges need to go on the "spine" side of the T-posts. If you want the wedges facing towards the inside of the brace, rotate your T-posts so that the "numbs" are facing outwards.

On all the videos I've watched about putting up woven fencing, they have wooden posts at the corner and start by wrapping the fence around the post and tying it to itself.
You would not want to terminate on a T-Post Corner. I would recommend putting your termination/end point on a seperate post. There are horizontal wedge-loc kits available, that can be used at gate/termination points. The way you terminate will depend on your fencing type used
QUESTION: What is the length of the T-posts used in this video, & how far do they stick out of the ground to the top point? For the angled brace post, the angle created & placement location of the vertical post with the lower bracket, would vary based on the length of the posts. For distance accuracy of vertical posts placement for the lower brace, the formula of 12" to 16" from bottom of the plate on angled post, would create various lengths based on each posts overall length that is sticking out of the ground. Different fence heights would require different height of fence posts. This may be something for future videos.

Great question. There is not a level bubble. Your best option is to have an assistant keeping an eye for you. But., if that is not possible, running some lines from your end points near the bottom and top of the post, just like when driving wooden posts, works as well.
How much tension can I expect this system to hold? 4 stands 12.5 gauge aluminum wire. It will be my semi permanent fencing for the next 2-3 years till I’m able to get the driver I want for my tractor.

@@KencoveFarmFence even with how much lighter aluminum wire is? If aluminum is too much then we will order the 14 aluminum. The only reason for the 12.5 aluminum is locally it’s in 4000’ rolls and we’re fencing 40 acres.

LockJawz still recommends wood H braces when using 12.5ga high tensile with multiple strands, therefore we recommend reducing number of strands, or opting for 14ga wire. That being said, not all variations of strands, gauge, soil conditions, etc. have been tested to know the full range of these braces. We experimented with other alternative braces with 14ga high tensile wire this past year and have seen success so far.

I notice that it only braces when you push on the corner.
If you pull, the diagonal bars fall out.
If properly install and fence tensioned, your diagonal braces should not be falling out of the collar.
When you're using that post driver, how are you checking that it's straight up and down? Is there a bubble level on the driver?
Great question. There is not a level bubble. Your best option is to have an assistant keeping an eye for you. But., if that is not possible, running some lines from your end points near the bottom and top of the post, just like when driving wooden posts, works as well.
