- Gear used includes an 8-string Agile Intrepid from Rondo Music with EMG 808 pickups, a 200 dollar Fender Mustang practice amp, Mixcraft Pro Studio 7, Kvlt Drums II, Superior Drummer Avatar kit (for overheads), an Alesis Nitro electronic drumset, and EZmix.
Meshuggah are my favourite band of all time, and this album (composition) is a masterpiece of avant-garde music. One of these days I said I would cover the whole thing, well here it is. Sans vocals.

What’s so lovable about Meshuggah is that I can fall asleep to their music, play it at the gym, or even just casually vibe to them on a road trip. Much love for this rendition, man.
If you haven't already then you should check out Meshuggah ambient music I sleep to it a lot of nights 👍🏼
Sound crazy with the bass tuned way down that low. From what i heard from the guys is that the bassist actually plays a 4 string bass for the 8 string stuff in F. So its in the same octave. So that they have a unison feel. He does use a 5 string bass tuned to drop B flat. But only rides on the low F then for the oldschool 7 string stuff his low B flat is there.
The bass roar really gives this a more intense and dare I say evil vibe. Love it!
This is my favorite album of all time. Great cover dude!
Same here bud! Much appreciated.
Same here also 👍🏼
"a 200 dollar Fender Mustang practice amp" holy shit seriously? Sounds fantastic together with the bass! This just proves that the guitar amp really does not matter THAT much. Maybe a bit thin sounding without the bass but still. Awesome job on the cover! You are great!
sick ass cover dude
Thanks buddy!
OMG! This has such a unique feeling!
When Autonomy Lost kicked in, my face melted.
Bro no way you actually did this, this is absolutely sick 🔥
I am clinically insane, don't test me bro! I plan to cover Chaosphere next, keep an eye out. >:)
@Absence of Truth dude please get someone to help you with the mix if you do any further meshuggah stuff.
@@reegyreegz I appreciate the advice, but I will continue to mix and master my own music. I do not outsource to others with my own creative process.
@@absenceoftruth6015 keep doing it bro sounds beautiful! Shalom
Nice! Tomas didn't actually play the drums in the original, it was made with a drum machine, so this is a huge achievement!
This is an achievement. Mad respect to you brother. 🫡
Agreed. These guys have caught the ear
a new level reached
I could fall asleep to this with a smile.
Omg that was incredible man, and by looking at another comment you said you only learned it in like 3 weeks, and with a pretty cheap amp ?? Considering all that, plus the fact that you did THE ENTIRE ALBUM, that might be one of the best cover ive ever heard ! Mad props to you, thats mad talent and dedication right here
Damn this is incredible! Also good job on doing the jazz parts on In Death and Sum.
Dude, you're a madman. Respect.
Thank you so much for covering the ambient interludes. This is amazing. I remember a while back someone else was attempting a full instrumental of this album and it seems to have been purged from the internet. Im glad someone got around to this, this is fantastic
Quite the accomplishment. ❤ One hell of a job all the way through
Outstanding !!!!!!!
W cover fav meshuggah album
did the shuggah covers on my channel with the cheapest gear money can buy xD mad vibe
I'm beyond impressed❤❤🤘🤘😮
This is just incredible. The Sum's clean outro sounds so good that I'm suspecting that it's the original with some more gain and delay, haha.
Man I respect Fredrik's playing so much that I wanna be as close as I can get to his sound. Tone-wise, and technique with them Jazz bands he would be inspired by.
@@absenceoftruth6015 I can't explain with words how this particular piece of music means to me. I can't even imagine how many times I have listened to it (and still do in a regular basis). So when someone covers it with this level of fidelity, it warms my heart. I feel like you have abstracted it's essence and added your own feelinjg to it. It's really, really great, man. Do you have any hints on how to achieve that clean tone? Not exactly the delay effect, but the tone itself.
@@samuraishampoo9729 EZmix has a preset specifically for it. Other than that, I also use Bias FX for clean tones spersed throughout the album. All I can say is, heavy experimentation with the preset sounds. Good worth your buy for an amp sim, especially if you got a lower budget amp.
@@absenceoftruth6015 Is it the EZmix Pack: Metal Guitar Gods?
@@samuraishampoo9729 yes exactly that!
Respect
Awesome 🤸🏻♂️
Thanks a lot
Awesome job
Haha I never thought I would hear a catch 33 cover with Kvlt Drums
cheers brother
Yeah buddy! I like how the bass sounds a little lower than the album in certain parts kinda like Dick's current tone. Also those Agile Intrepids are damn good quality guitars. I own one as well.
This is siiiiiiiick
You're unbelievable
WOAHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , where are you located?
Oh. my. sweet. jebus
goated. based. w rizz. mad swag. litty
i made a song with this person so i am cooler than all of you
I stay rizzing all over the place.
So sick. Mix is a bit muddy or congested, struggling to make out guitars rythm sections. Love the choice of drum sound though, like some nu metal vibes haha.
Listening to this on 7BA iems
Playlist ?
Over here in Alabama its like nobody knows who might be doing shit first but somebody knows more here and there you know?
Its mostly cool like day to day on average per capita and shit.
WTF this is insanely good, how long did it take you to learn the album? I thought I had the actual album on!
Must have taken me almost three weeks actually. Also I really appreciate it!
@@absenceoftruth6015 3 weeks!!! Such a short period of time! By ear or did you refer to tabs?
@@mikhailali9591 I referred to Songsterr tabs for a majority, save for all the ambient parts and solos, which were by ear. Painstakingly. Also, various parts are tabbed incorrectly so I had to redo tabs for In Death - Is Death, Shed, and Dehumanization.
@@absenceoftruth6015 Freaking machine, been trying to learn a bunch of their tunes, the part that is the hardest is the memory aspect and having the patience to sit things and write them down, once you get hte pattern it becomes a bit easier
The only "downside"(if it could be called that way) is that you didn't replicate the eerie sounding solo in In Death - Is Death.
Yeah man I had no idea where to start with half the solos haha. Thanks!
What bass did you use? String gauges for both as well?
Peavey Fury 5 with Super Slinky strings .40-.125. For guitar I always use D'Addario NYXL .009-.084 gauge.
