    I want to thank the entire band for going the extra mile with this album. The meticulous writing and production, the bespoke art for each track, and now putting out instrumentals for the entire thing. You really went above and beyond with this, thank you for that.

      they did that with every album , it's quite common among djent bands, probably because the genre started out as mainly instrumental one man projects so the tradition stuck

      The album needs more intricate and techy drumming. It gets very redundant after a while.

      @@heatherchevelle799 I'd have to disagree about this one. If they would have went anymore technical with it the drums then, along with all the other instruments, would have the effect of almost a 'static noise black hole', taking away from the overall syncopated and mastered sound. You see, music is not just noise, it's noise with silence being the accent.

    41:34. This part is BULLETPROOF. They bring back that "sweeping" guitar riff, only an altered version of it. This couldn't be any more perfect. And then there's a break for intense vocal work right before it returns. A rare instance of repetition for Vildhjarta.

    Hearing this I have to say: Vilhelm Bladin, you did an outstanding work on the vocals. Don't want to talk down this version as the instrumentals are amazing af, but this album was clearly written with vocals in mind and boy do they add to the experience. Lots of texture and aggressiveness missing without it. It's really interesting to hear the differences in the production here in parts that have vocals originally and those that don't, I'm sure this can be a big help for other Thall writers. This is my meditation music, I feel at peace to this masterclass album. I simply cannot explain how much this music flows through my veins, how it resonates with my very soul. I could bask in that tone and the eerie atmosphere into eternity \\m//

      музыка конечно у них зачёт, я как гитарист со стажем скажу, такое сыграть нужно очень много времени, а этот чувак и музон пишет такой, которого ни у кого нет, так он ещё и ударник, он же это всё в живую может сыграть на всех инструментах!

    Why havnt these guys blown up and got the recognition they deserve in this oversaturated market for "Djentish" style bands through the last 15-20 years. Back in the day, I remember their being Misha(Bulb), ASL, Tesseract, and Obviously Meshuggah.

    • @SashaGarcia
      @SashaGarcia 2 роки тому +3

      "Djent", like every dying genre, has become a collection of tropes. I am glad these guys didn't dumb down their music for the culture vultures. Let's not forget that it took a long time for meshuggah to earn their "majesty" status.

    Can someone solve the mistery (to me at least) that happens in Passage Noir at 28:33? Does the guitar riff actually slows down a lot in tempo or it's just another polyrhythm trick that happens because of the drums?

    • @_-TC
      @_-TC 2 роки тому +5

      Yup, the guitar parts remain the same from what I can hear, the difference is that the blast beat on drums goes into a triplet feel, which makes it feel completely different and faster. Look up 'Dirk Blast" if you want to hear something similar!
