Blade is one of my favorite characters, hands down. I love watching people with virgin eyes seeing this movie for the first time. This is absolutely a movie that just... MM! Every scene is good stuff. This is what going to the movies used to be like on a regular basis. I personally think the first Blade stands head and shoulders above the others, and the short-lived Spike TV series, but honestly if its true to the Blade character, it's a good time. If you've never seen it, I also highly recommend Demolition Man. Another classic Wesley Snipes movie of the 90s.
Keep in mind that the Blade movie was greenlit with a $45 million dollar budget at the time, so the VFX effects weren't going to be top tier effects like Terminator 2 Judgement Day that was released in 7 years prior to this movie but had a +100 million budget. But for 1998 the effects were still pretty good for that era. Blade made +131 million at the box office almost 3 times its original budget. Showing if done right a superhero movie can be successful.
I suggest to watch the all blade movies, Aliens movies with Sigourney Weaver, AVP, ALL RESIDENT EVIL MOVIES. I do believe you guys will enjoy them all. Especially all Hannibal movies with Anthony Hopkins. Start with Silence of the Lambs, then Hannibal, Red Dragon, and finally, Hannibal Rising. My favorite. Do not underestimate these movies. They will blow your mind. I hope you guys enjoyed all jurassic park movies of the movies. enjoy!! *in case of comedy Robin Hood, Men in Tights Hot Shots Hot Shots Part Deux and Dracula Dead and Loving It And best ones all scary movies lol TAKE CARE 👋👋
He's about to be part of the MCU. Snipes version of Blade and Mahershala Ali. If they'll let Deadpool & Wolverine be R rated then Blade can be too. And if he's in Avengers Secret Wars I'm sure he'll be right..
Blade was the MCU playing it safe by going through different companies to make an R rated movie. It was unheard of at the time, I think it made 51 million it's opening weekend and for a 'comic book movie' that was unheard of. Wouldn't say it spawned the MCU but it did help kick off the "Oh wait, comic books can be profitable' mindset.
Comic book movies by the time Blade had come out were in a bad spot. We hadn't had a good Batman(Hugely successful) movie in since 1989, and the most recent one was terrible. A lot of the other "superhero" or "comic book" movies were duds or bombs. Steel, Spawn, Batman and Robin. It was not a good time. Then, Blade comes along and its slick, stylish, smart, violent... Blade just kicks ass on any day beginning with Y. It absolutely built the foundation for what later came with the MCU. Between Blade, Spider-Man, and The X-Men, the progenitor for what would come from 2008 going forward was set in stone. Marvel had an influx of cash to actually do stuff again. Blade saved Marvel from insolvency.
Which shield? The tv show? Man, I loved that show. Michael Chiklis was amazing in that. And we got Walt Goggins from there. If it’s something else, give….
That’s the one. Played by michel chiklis. The last role I remember before that was a show called “The Commish”. Police commissioner somewhere. Completely different character. He’s pretty great.
Too bad after the second Avengers movie the MCU got watered down. Minus a few shows the girl that took dude to the rave in the beginning was porn star traci lourds
Kris Kristofferson. One of the best songwriter of our time. My time, anyway. Ha. You’re young. Frost is brazen. Arrogant. Turns out, that’s just bragging if u can’t back it up. 🤷♀️
Saved the MCU? There wouldn’t be no MCU if it wasn’t for Blade. Paved the way for X-men, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Etc
🙌🙌🙌🙌

Blade's real name is Eric Brooks.
Blade and the Punisher are the hardest Marvel characters imo. Wesley was born to play Blade.
It fits him perfectly! I wonder how the knew blade will be
I'm not gonna lie though, but I love Blade's coat. It looks badass.
"Fk me, No! You Fk this!" That has got to be a Wesley thing he just said off the cuff! 🤣
😂😂😂😂
First one good second amazing third more comical because of Deadpool

Preach brother preach!!! I haven’t seen T2 but I do agree with this comment!!
Blade is the most dangerous swordsman in Marvel! Blade and Shang-Chi are the top two martial artists the MCU will have!

Are you going to review Blade 2 and Blade Trinity?
This one is great but the second one is one of the best action movies of all time. I'd put it second to T2.
I’m going have to watch!!!!
No, ''Blade'' isn't part of the ''MCU''. However, it do for Marvel what Tim Burton's ''Batman'' did for DC.
Yeah Blade is way too serious of a character to be in the MCU. 💯
