Glad to see Jodie isn’t blamed for the terrible writing. I can’t rewatch those episodes because of the writing. But I am to understand Jodie is actually quite good actress.
@@Scumner some of the actions of the 13th doctor go against what every doctor has stood for (nothing against jodie it was just horrible writing) and I believe she should have her own tier at the very bottom
@@andrewklakulak1282 I agree she’s dodgy, but all the others do dodgy stuff when they’re grumpy. Agree it’s not on Jodie though. 14th just shouldn’t exist
@@Scumner 13 would've. She's the first dr without time war baggage (or was intended to be) and in general it would make more sense for the first female doctor to be the first of a new cycle (as if it now has become possible if you follow)
@@LeviPennington-vv2kq yeah its one of those things. People who say Twice Upon a Time is a good ending spot entirely miss the point of that episode because its basically 60 minutes of telling the audience 'the story must go on, it would be very stupid to end here'
Not exactly how my ranking would sit - Eleven would be up there in S Tier with Capaldi - but the rest of the list is pretty much there. Also, I'd love to see Toby Jones return in some form. Maybe if they decide to do something with The Valeyard?
@@Scumner The only one I don't like is the Fifteenth doctor as I didn't really like the actor and how he played the doctor but I can kind of put up with that. I also don't like how Russell T Davies is making the new season. It feels like the new season terrible to me and I also don't like how literally every episode is a kind of musical that has music and lots of dances. I'm fine with a little dance and some music every now and again but it feels like there is too much singing and dancing for a show like Doctor Who. I also don't like how they did Sutekh and I don't like the whole "Death + Death = Life" thing. Jodie did a good job with the doctor and I think she would have been a great doctor but she was just given a terrible script. The Ruth doctor - I have mixed feeling about the Ruth doctor as I think the actor who played the Ruth doctor was good but I don't like the whole "Timeless Child" thing. It would have been great if the Ruth Doctor was a doctor from another dimension or something like that. The whole Division and flux thing was kind of good I guess. Division and the flux parts would have been a bit better without the whole "Timeless Child" thing. The rest I agree with. Also the Dream Lord reminds me of a Classic who villain called the "The Valeyard" and He is described by the Master as an combination of the Doctor's darker sides from between his twelfth and final incarnations. (Edit: I fixed some spelling mistakes that I made.)
I don’t really think you can separate the Tenth and Fourteenth Doctor. They’re both the same actor doing the same style. They’re both basically the same character going through different character development because of where the Doctor is in their life.
By that logic all the Doctors might as well be judged as the same person. I’d have preferred if 10 and 14 were the same tbf, but they’re not in universe. They’re very different in use. One is a character, the other is marketing tool, I think that significantly undermines the value of 14. TenToo is basically the same too, but he’s given the weight a shocking event like him existing would warrant, a reason why it happened, and a well written exist.
I'd mention an honorable mention to Paul Mcgann 50th Anniversary: The Night of the Doctor 4 minutes of him into hurt on Karn near brought me to tears. And David Bradleys portrayal of William Hartnells Doctor especially in his An Adventure in Space and Time which is lovely! Twise upon a time is not my favorite, but it is a part of it. This may also just be my particular love of William hartnell.
True, I wish I had, although I think of him mostly for his Big Finish stuff more than anything on the screen. For just TV alone, Eight would be B, above War but below 11. For Bradley's First Doctor I'd probably put him the same place, he's very good, but if we're to take his sexism and stuff at face-value (which I know was done endearingly), he'd probably not rank so high in terms of Doctor's I'd want to hang out with. If we're including specials then I'd throw in the Fifth Doctor in Time Crash, which would be above 11, why not.
@@Scumner Yeah I can see that I adored the preformance in an adventure in time and space. The writing in twise upon a time made sexism more of a gaff more than a product of its time. I did not enjoy the poor writing here at all. This was SO much better portrayed in the amazing adventure in space in time. A stern man with a twinkle in his eye with years of fed upness, but ready and willing to listen and curiousity. And this portrayed his doctor. Hartnell would never have accepted a female producer if he had been as sexist as being portrayed in twise upon a time. He had strong oppinion, and was a man of his time, but he would be so kind to his female co stars playing Susan portrayed by carol ann ford and Barbara portrayed by Jacqueline Hill!
The worst thing about this show is not that it went ''woke'' doctor who always had that...they never made it as obvious and in your face till now but hey, it's a new world. The worst thing about this show, is how the writing just went down the shitter. Companions and Doctors after 12 just didn't have as good writing. Its like they forgot everything that the show stood for. I like Jodi's doctor for the actress, but the dialog and her companions, especially Yaz and Ryan makes me want to go through a drywall. Haven't had the chance yet to see the 14th doctor but I've heard that it's worse. Also I know I'm ranting on a bit here but they should never have messed with the Doctors history, there should not be a doctor before Hartnell. Plain simple. They messed up there.
It was pretty in your face all the time with progressive values. Some of the new episodes are amazing, Rogue and Dot And Bubble rocked, wasn’t so keen on more of the magical ones

Saying the 12th Doctor is the perfect 'final Doctor' is funny because he's the first doctor of a new regeneration cycle
Exactly, it’s so odd how good he feels. Maybe 15 would have been a better first regen of a new cycle.

@Scumner Although it does make sense for the 12th doctor because his arc mirrors that of the first doctor

Awesome!
Jodie is a good Doctor
Agree, that's why she's in C. A good Doctor, but not a great one. Passing grade.

I’d be down for that. Like I say, high high and low lows for 11, really mixed run.
Missy isn't a Doctor she's the master so idk why you put her on here because her saying doctor who was just a joke not a actual Doctor
It was also a joke. (But she would have killed it if they gave her a full episode as 'Doctor Who')
