    Heres a great idea that i use for "ground work" under the 1025R! I use the wooden railroad ties the i put length ways & line em up with the tractor tires, put the tractor in 4WD, & drive up on the ties gently in low gear! I have that added 8"-9" inches of heighth & i can lay down on my floor creeper & slide in between the ties! I use 4 R.R. ties . . . .2 side x side for the leftside wheels & 2 side x side for the right side wheels! sure makes a world of difference lemme tell ya what, & im a little guy. . . .155 lbs at 5 ft 4 inches tall! NEVER EVER skip a grease zert fitting! And if ya ever come across one that wont take grease, you'll have to change it out & replace it with a new one!!!
    That one hard to read one underneath can be done, it's just a real bugger to do it under there, but can be done! But here's the good thing, K??? You can remove the floor panel from the top side & that will easily expose that "hard to reach" grease zert fitting! Google removal of floor panel on John Deere 1025R if ya dont know how! I've greased the zert that way to. Thanks for sharing your video, my friend😃👍🏻

    Super helpful. Thank you.
    Next time, wrench size at the beginning of the video though so I don't run back and forth to the tool box 3 times 😂

      I'm not the greatest at laying the stuff out in detail. I will try harder!

    My diff lock was stuck on. I tried adjusting the brakes to reduce the diff lock input from the brake side of the transmission but that did not work. I found that the diff lock linkage was bent and was forcing the diff lock on all the time. I removed the linkage and freed up the shaft and the problem is now solved. By the way you can use light pressure on the brake to engage the diff lock even with the diff lock linkage removed. Also here is a recall on the brake bell crank and I plan to have the dealer replace it since it is suck a pain to replace it. When I take the tractor in for the recall I will have them replace the bent diff lock linkage too.

    I just had to replace the bell crank on the brake side of that unit. It was a huge pain getting that spring pin out and even a bigger pain getting the new one in. They don't make it easy. Apparently my bell crank piece and the brake linkage snapped off one day. I never use the brakes but wanted to get it fixed parts were only $39 however took me about two hours just to get the pin lined up and whacked in there with a hammer

    I just bought a 1025R that came with a stuck differential lock. It's clearly been stuck a while as the brakes are nearly gone. Did your dealer end up doing warranty work?

    • @QuinnsTreeFarm
      @QuinnsTreeFarm  3 роки тому

      They didn't. I never brought it in. My warranty has run out, and it's not worth it to drive 20 miles to the dealer. For something like this, I'll run it up to my local repair mechanic.

      Turns out the diff lock was engaged likely due to previous owner adjusting brake linkage without adjusting the outer and inner brake arm alignment (the outer arm being connected to the diff lock engagement rod) which permanently engaged the diff lock. I fixed that over the weekend, although still no brakes left. I don't even want to know what that's going to cost to replace.

      @@joelmagnuson I have found that the base price of a tractor is far from what you actually pay when you factor in maintenance and mistakes! But it's better than no tractor!

      My neighbor just bought a NEW (2021) 1025R from a local dealer who comes to him to complete the warranty services at NO EXTRA COST !!! His diff lock was also stuck on at time of delivery unknown to him. Dealer came and repaired the damage Under Warranty !!! Nice tractor and dealer huh ?!
