Yes sir, this is the second diverter I have installed and I would say it is a DIY project that any tractor owners should be able to do. The only possible points of confusion is finding where to tie in your hot wire and getting the right threads on your fittings. I didn’t go into detail on either of those because it will vary by Tractor
You hold the button down while opening and closing the Grapple which actually feels natural after a little bit. So if you want to curl and close at the same time you can hold the lever over and just toggle the button on and off and it will do both Fairly quickly
How does this 3rd function diverter compare to the one on your tractor or other available? Same performance and use? I do not see it on their website.Maybe not available yet.
This kit is almost identical to the one I use. Mine is from Artillian and this one is from precision manufacturing. I think the Artillian kit cost more but came with a couple of the hoses that this one didn’t. Not sure because it’s been a while. I would say true third function is better because it allows you to curl and close the grapple at the same time. It is also more expensive and not available on all models of tractors. This diverter style can be put on any tractor that has a loader

I thought it would be better to get these items installed as part of the package when the tractor was new, clean and in the dealer’s workshop. They were short of stock when the tractor was purchased so the technicians did a really good job.
John Deere did not have factory third function option available for my tractor when I bought it. They did come out with it in the last year as a factory option I did get it with 2 sets of rear remotes but I had to install my own diverter at this point I’ve actually got three sets of auxiliary hydraulic lines on the front of the tractor and the two sets on the back plus the power beyond. I would still rather have the factory third function because it’s more convenient to use and doesn’t have any power loss, but since I already have mine set up I’m not gonna spend the money on it

I’m not trying to be misleading. You are adding a third function. This tractor had 2 loader functions when I started and when I finished it had 3 There are just a lot of different ways to do that. True third function is optimal, but using a diverter is the cheapest/easiest way to add third function.
You showed exactly what I'd be afraid of, fittings dont fit. If I buy a 3rd function kit I dont even want to go chase down zip-ties, I expect everything needed and everything fits and fits right......

One question about switch. Do you have to hold it while using 3rd function or do you flip it and stays until you switch it back?
