  • *Part 1*
In the depths of our oceans blue,
Where the plastic waste runs true,
A world of waste floats out of sight,
    Turning day into endless night.
From the shores to the Pacific’s patch,
    Plastic’s grip, a steadfast latch,
    Decades pass, it won’t decay,
    Yet microbits invade the bay.
But hope, it stirs within the brine,
Fungi of the sea, a hopeful sign,
Parodontium album at work so fine,
    Turning plastics into CO2 line.
Though the pace seems slow, a careful dance,
Nature’s rhythm gives us a chance,
A fungal force to mend our breach,
A path to clean, a distant beach.
    *Part 2*
And on the land, new wonders bloom,
A catalyst to clear the gloom,
    Nylon nets and carpets worn,
In minutes gone, their chains are torn.
No more burning or landfills deep,
The method’s swift, no toxins seep,
Ita and lanthanide, a clever blend,
Recycling paths on which we depend.
From 350 degrees to a lower stage,
The polymers unravel, a clean new page,
    Recycled threads for carpets bright,
A future where our waste is light.
So here's to hope, both sea and land,
For cleaner seas and safer sand,
With nature’s help and science’s flair,
A cleaner world, a breath of fresh air.
