I watched the video comparing the Bronco and 4runner, he was biased as hell. He compared 4runner Crawl Control with Bronco Trail control which is only about slow cruise control and one pedal control. The Jeep's highway manners are far, far worse than the Bronco's. I have owned two Jeeps and test drove the Bronco, and the Bronco handles tremendously better on the highway, especially at 60 MPH+. No comparison.

Ford has some really nice touches on the Bronco! I like that they mounted the mirrors to the A-pillar/hood so you stay legal with the doors removed. Also, the charging port on the dash is a great idea. The GOAT modes and one pedal driving features really simplify setting up the vehicle for off-roading! I will say the fuel economy is a disappointment...I get better economy than that in my stock 2014 4Runner on KO2s!
I drove a jeep with the doors off on a 2 lane highway and let me say this- I hated always having to look back to change lanes. I hope jeep finds a way to implement the mirrors into the A pillar. And also the death wobble was terrible at around 60 but got better at 70 for some reason. It was nice over all but not something I’d personally want.
@@Offshore1977 It isn't, but it is an ancient design with a 5 speed transmission. You would think Ford could find a way to squeeze better highway economy out of a vehicle with a 10 speed transmission.
I am pretty sure Skyjacker's Jeep Wrangler JL in the Motor Trend Ultimate Adventure in Alaska got close to 20 mpg highway on 40's. My point is there are so many clever design elements in this vehicle that this part of the design feels like they dropped the ball a bit.
@@justinanderson181 The death wobble is either defect or worn out parts, even wrong tire ware i believe contributes... First person I've heard that thought opening the rear gate was difficult . Most rave about the different positions and the fact it opens really wide . The rear seat bottoms are supposed to be flipped up first before folding the backs down so it gives a more flat cargo space . Also you say it's really loud and not good at all on the freeway but compared to what ? It's certainly better than what it is competing against , the Wrangler . Also the camera does have guide lines and stop getting out to check clearance around the vehicle , the 360 cameras birds eye view would do that for you ,LOL . Oh , you also complain about getting 16-17MPG but you are constantly hammering on it in the video keeping it in boost ;)
Loud compared to any vehicle I’ve ever driven including the Jeep Wrangler. In the video you can see the back gate spring back at me. It’s annoying. Might just be an issue with the sample they sent us, but it was a real neusince. Never trust a camera when driving someone else’s vehicle. And cameras don’t verify clearance. In our next video we found the tracking lines.
limited in their usefullness for you maybe, I hate kids so it fits me and my dogs just fine and not getting hung up on my transfer case is more usefull to me lmao
According to many UA-cam reviews I've watched, where Bronco exceeds its competition the most is in high speed off-roading in Baja and mud-n-ruts type terrain. Some of the early ride-along reviews at King of the Hammers and Moab demonstrated that. Both Wrangler and 4Runner owners who did ride-alongs commented on how much better Bronco (with advanced HOSS suspension) rode on such terrain than their vehicles. I suspect Bronco inherited at least some of that capability from the Raptor.
@@invasion1824 it depends on what kind of ride you want everyday when you aren’t driving on the trails. The Sasquatch package is good all around. Check out Lite Brite UA-cam channel. They have been driving around a Wrangler JL with a Hellcat swap for several years and just got a Bronco. There are pros and cons to both. As you stated the Bronco’s IFS will provide more comfort going fast, as well as on road. If you think you might get into more extreme rock crawling then go Wrangler. Hopefully you can test drive both and see which fits into your life best.
I love the nostalgia of this bronco……. It’s an off-road vehicle, not a speed trap worrier plus it replicates the original cord bronco. “If it’s meant to be fast, it wouldn’t be shaped like a brick”. The fuel mileage could be better BUT it’s an off-road vehicle, it’s not gonna be that good on fuel economy bc of gearing and tires. Similar to the jeeps, it’s meant to be great off road which it’s proven. Jeeps are great too but way to much money for what you get. As an avid off-roader with a squarebody suburban, I’m not big on a lot of the rest technology stuff. I wish fort and keep built these vehicles without much of the fancy tech stuff just to make it cheaper for the average guy although the broncos are priced decent but could be cheaper. A smaller screen primarily used for the camera and maps as well as a regular gauge cluster and regulate cruise control could cut cost a decent amount. Also, the rear gate could stay the same thickness BUT have a built in pocket for the top bags. Or a small storage for the tops to still have the space for cargo or passengers such as pets. These are just my thoughts and how I would have developed the bronco… I love these things and I wish they came with a solid axle in the front. Especially since they could have used the axles from the superduty. They could have used the chassis from an f250 with the axles(just shortened) and saved the cost of building a whole new chassis(from a ranger) plus, you already know people are gonna solid axle swap with one tons soon anyways OR used the Dana 44 in the front with the ford f150 towing rear axle. Would have been more than sufficient AND keep people using factory components rather than total customization……. Just thoughts.
I have a 23, some differences i have with your observations. I get a easy 18 mpg, its not as noisy as you are acting. Its actually quieter than our 23 4runner. So "noise" is depending on your perception and the vehicle you are comparing. My guess is you are a Jeep fan. One thing you are 100% correct on is if you have people in the back, you have limited storage. A 2 door is not the vehicle to pick if you have multiple passengers. Im gonna try your coffee shop. I liked your review despite not agreeing on your every point. And your explanation of goat modes was excellent.

I'll wait until they release the Bronco 2dr Max... a lil longer wheel base is a sacrifice I'd be willing to make for extra cargo room. If the Raptor will only be in a 4dr, Ford can give us something special for the 2dr.
0:50 Wouldn't it be the Cherokee rather than the Renegade? (EcoSport = Renegade, Escape = Compass, Bronco Sport = Cherokee, Bronco = Wrangler, Edge = Grand Cherokee, Explorer = Grand Cherokee L)
Sorry but I don't get the complaint about not having the room in the back for all your gear. Sure maybe if you have two people sitting in the back but most people that will buy the two door will be off-roading by themselves or with one other person at most. So why not just flip the seats down? You would have had plenty of space for your gear.
When folding down the rear seats on the 2-door Bronco, you need to flip up the rear seat cushions first before you flip down the rear seat backs. This allows the seat backs to lay down further.
04:02, the bottom cushions flip up, allowing the back to fold down flat.
I wish the folded flush with back floor though. Big difference between folding flat and folding flush. I think I'd take the seats completely out.

I know. 'Used to be, you could get a new base YJ/TJ for under $10K US. Even a college student could afford a simple, reliable rig to explore the continent with. Then Consumer Reports trashed the Suzuki Samurai, the TJs got ridiculously expensive, and the JK was even worse.
Middle-class wages have definitely not kept up with inflation, yet the rich get richer. I'm wealthy enough to not need a job anymore, but even I don't want to spend $30K+ for a tech-loaded rig to beat on. Well, this review was on a LOADED Badlands Sasquatch model. MSRP on base models is considerably less, but we probably won't see many of those at dealers for a year or more. I'll likely be driving used Crosstreks and TJs for a while, or sticking to dualsport motos for offroading.
@@RKmndo Agreed!!!
Paying people more then increasing prices to make up for it won't help either. The rich have give up some of their profits to pay staff.
In 2011 I payed $7000 for a 3 year old Ranger with 20 000 miles. Currently theres a 3 year old Ranger with 20 000 miles on it, at a local dealership.....$40 000.
@@TheBeatenPaths I paid a little over $15K for a 2016 Crosstrek Limited with 60K miles last winter. A 2017 with 60K miles is now $20K-25K asking price. I could sell my 2016 for at least what I bought it for, after driving it for a year.
CEOs and the like used to make 20-30 times what their lowest-paid employees made. Now, many of them make 1000s of times more than their lowest-paid employees. The workers aren't to blame for the inflation. I don't care if they're unionized or not.
@@RKmndo Agreed!! I get it though. A bit is inflation, a bit is covid chip shortage, and a bit good paying Union jobs...... bit it's a whole lot "rich getting richer"
“I’m doing nothing here, the car is doing it all for me”…. That doesn’t sound fun
Man, this is why I watch your stuff! It's because I learn a bunch of new things. And this Bronco is nice! Looks great! I own a 11 jeep wrangler sahara, and It's good to see a fresh new face come out and like you said, be equal and/or be better than the jeep at some areas. Love my jeep but this Bronco is tempting.
One thing unique to the Bronco, and it DOES come in handy if you are an experience off roader, you can lock the front diff without locking the rear diff. Each diff lock is independent.
That and the ability to release the sway bar under pressure is pretty cool.
Yes, finally you got one of these... They need to beef up mounting on that show off handle on center console and paint them with body color
As a recent 4Runner buyer I'm curious to see your comparison! Crazy how little cargo space you get with the 2 door. Those folding seats are embarrassing! I'm sure you can remove them though.
Another comment pointed out that the rear seat bottoms flip up so the backs lay more flat and provide more room.
@@ALMX5DP Interesting......I feel like I'd just remove them. Depending on how hard it is.
@@lthemanl sure if you have no need for back seats you can definitely do that. I had such an arrangement for my old Focus hatch when I didn’t use the seats, but the floor of the vehicle wasn’t level in itself and was a bit cumbersome either way. Not sure if the Bronco’s floor is similarly contoured.
The creek crossing was painful to watch. All of that tech is ridiculous. How in the world did anyone traverse a creek in the 1970's?
In a early bronco with a 302 v8 and a c4 trans,locking hubs etc.
@@joesprague1464 If it were available in the U.S., I would much rather have the decidedly low-tech Suzuki Jimny, heck, make it the Black Bison edition. It's incredible how this little 4-pot performs next to be it's much bigger and more expensive cousins.
Thank you Ryan for your honest review of this Bronco. Sometimes it's those small details that you point out in your driving impressions that can be a deal breaker for some people, such as road noise at highway speeds with the hard top and limited space for your gear in that small trunk. Looking forward to the next video comparing the Bronco to the 4Runner.
I watched the video comparing the Bronco and 4runner, he was biased as hell. He compared 4runner Crawl Control with Bronco Trail control which is only about slow cruise control and one pedal control. He should have compared 4runner Crawl Control with Bronco Rock Crawl and this video proves he knew that... Very Deceptive.
Road noise LOL. Drive a 30+ year old Bronco or Bronco 2 and then talk about road noise, engine noise, tire noise, etc. LOL.
Is 2:18 your voice? You made me laugh Lol.
Does your roof squeak and rattle like others? Videos of the crap build quality all over youtube.
Didn’t have any squeaking issues, but our test car only had 2k miles on it.
I mean, it's a Ford. They all have this problem. I switched to Toyota and never looked back.
@@Gilbertmk2 I drove a 2010 Tacoma TRD Off Road for ten years. I am 6'3 220 and I never fit in it, but I bought it because "Toyota". Sold it and bought a 20 Ranger and it is so much better in every single way. Comfort...gearing....engine.. quiet. Literally everything. All vehicles are pretty reliable at this point other than maybe Fiat. I get why Toyota, but that thing was so f'ing uncomfortable.
@@drn13355 Don't get me wrong I like Ford vehicles. I had a Ford edge, escape, my wife has a taurus and they've been mostly reliable but dang thr interior quality was always terrible. Squeaks, rattles, etc. Glad you found a comfortable truck; those rangers are pretty cool.
Another wonderful video...thank you! Kind of a side note but one thing I'd be interested in hearing more of your thoughts on at some point is the safety aspect (along the lines of crash test scores) of many of these vehicles. Thanks again!
What a cool vehicle. Make a hybrid version so we can have it all!
USE THE NEW 2022 OUTLANDER FROM MITSUBISHI I WANNA SEE OFFF ROAD IN IT
I wish they made this with 0 electronics
Me: Would you get a Porsche or a Ferrari?
Ryan: Neither, I drive a 4runner!
Comparing 4 runner with Porsche /ferrari
@@hotrod7603 ... that was a very "Internet Explorer" response... LOL!
My 2016 F-150 crew cab with a 5.0 averages 18-20 mpg. They probably could have put a naturally aspirated V6 or V8 in this and got better mpg numbers and reliability. I'm a Ford guy but this Ecoboost fetish they have don't seem to pay off with what they advertise.
Maybe you should read the instruction booklet before you review the Bronco.
Why Does Everyone WHINE about Fuel Economy with an OFF-ROAD TRUCK-Based Vehicle? Really? Do you Drive a Prius Day-to-Day? and the Sound Effects - sad..
When are we getting the OJ Simpson Edition?
😂
Great looking car and very capable off road too, that's what we needed!
The two door really is impractical for a family but is good for a young person (who has 50k to spend!) lol That being said, it’s a sharp looking vehicle, that is very capable. Nice review as always
If your kids are old enough to buckle their own carseats the 2dr is fine for 4ppl. A CJ7/YJ fit 4 and 1 of the front seats didn't even slide forward.
I see families of 5+ riding 50cc mopeds in other countries. We westerners are spoiled.
Thanks for the video. The manual tranny option is great but it’s only available with the smaller engine. Beautiful truck imho.
They should put 3.5 ecoboost and 5l n/a or ss options for raptor add 3l for those "reste kind" with manual option for Everyone... older 6 speed or something could be like a bullet proof 5 speed ranger (with a police pac ratio sauvage)🤷even Its could be already old its better than nothing
The Jeep's highway manners are far, far worse than the Bronco's. I have owned two Jeeps and test drove the Bronco, and the Bronco handles tremendously better on the highway, especially at 60 MPH+. No comparison.
"5 torques"
Ugh. Please don't go down the path of being cutesy... lbft or Nm please!
If you're going to do this, why not be super cute and say the distance is "5 lengths"??
Looks like getting in the back seats of the new 2 door Bronco is as bad as trying to get in the back seats of my 88 Bronco 2...yeah they're folded down 100% of the time, I don't haul passengers in that thing LOL.
My buddy has a 4Runner and I find the suspension to be on the stiff side when we off road. How does the Broncos off road ride compare to your 4Runner?
It's not a luxury vehicle so don't expect a nice interior. It's not a sports car so don't expect a fast acceleration. It's an offroader so expect rigidity and toughness. Its a $56,000 offroader, it's built for a certain type of person that looks for certain type of things. This broncos got em.
Maybe try saying coffee shop?🤷♂️
Fucking Chad recommendation would I get this or the Jeep I wouldn't get either I already only 4Runner hahahah
I love this spec!! Too bad we (the general population that did not pre-order) might need to wait until like 2023 to get one!!! Great review for a non-car/off roader buff like me. 💪🏼💪🏼
The 4runner off rd looks better and I'm a bronco guy. Seen a 4 door outer banks next to a trd off rd pro and the 4runner looked better with a nicer inside, including materials. That middle grab handle is a joke.
I knew that conclusion was coming withing the fist minute of the video from the tone. Seemed overly picky. But hey, it it 56k and that is a heck of a lot of money for anything.
All this techno crap adding to these vehicles. Hmmm, wonder if it breaks?
Just learn how to drive!
What a clown. Big rock on the right? Lol. He is all over the map during his reviews. His reviews use to be decent in the past. He needs to look at other videos of the bronco offroading. He looks like he is driving a car on this trail.
I am sure your 4Runner is not running 35’s
I mean just from my experience with 2 wranglers both 2011, one never had it, 2nd did and after repair it never came back, then that same wrangler was traded in for 2015 model which so far never had it either... it should be fixable
OFF ROAD READY, with a factory warranty? Definitely it does get any better than this!
Excellent review as usual mr. Ryan.
Edit: We miss Karleena 😣
Why some people say it’s unbelievable quiet and some say it’s not tolerable?
Are there many rattles coming from the roof pannels? I heard that some buyers have complained about it as well as water leak on rainy days.
Only some !
TFL
Your videos are always on point. Kudos
beg your pardon, but i could drive a vw bug over that road with ease, quit bsing people...
BTW…..Brake boosting it will net you under 7 seconds 0-60
limited in their usefullness for you maybe, I hate kids so it fits me and my dogs just fine and not getting hung up on my transfer case is more usefull to me lmao
if jeep got rid of the mini van motor and just put a 5.7 hemi not the 80k 6,4 it would be a much better jeep
I will keep my Toyota 2014 fj cruiser.
Jeep’s are rust buckets hopefully the Broncos won’t be .
Congratulations I live in Brazil
Wow you mean the vehicle actually expects you to drive it?
someone who actually takes an off road vehicle off road👍🏻
To many toys to pay for. You don't need all that crap. Save the $$$
I re-watched this, I kept thinking I've heard this voice? I believe Ryan you are an expert motorcycle rider? Is this you?
Nope, must be someone else.
The 2 door looks so much better than the 4 door.
Great video. Great configuration. Really nice color.
$56k!!! Eff that.
Why are you plugging in your phone? That has wireless Apple Car Play and wireless Android Auto. Did you not want to pair your phone?
That was literally explained in the video.
Kind of funny he didn't know how to fold the seeds flat in the back.
The wonderful exhaust is actually just an augmented soundtrack lol. The 2.7 EB sounds worse that just about every car ever manufactured.
Ford struck gold with the new bronco
According to many UA-cam reviews I've watched, where Bronco exceeds its competition the most is in high speed off-roading in Baja and mud-n-ruts type terrain. Some of the early ride-along reviews at King of the Hammers and Moab demonstrated that. Both Wrangler and 4Runner owners who did ride-alongs commented on how much better Bronco (with advanced HOSS suspension) rode on such terrain than their vehicles. I suspect Bronco inherited at least some of that capability from the Raptor.
So if I’m looking to go off-roading on rocks and rivers should I still get the bronco or the rubicon?
@@invasion1824 it depends on what kind of ride you want everyday when you aren’t driving on the trails. The Sasquatch package is good all around. Check out Lite Brite UA-cam channel. They have been driving around a Wrangler JL with a Hellcat swap for several years and just got a Bronco. There are pros and cons to both. As you stated the Bronco’s IFS will provide more comfort going fast, as well as on road. If you think you might get into more extreme rock crawling then go Wrangler. Hopefully you can test drive both and see which fits into your life best.
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That gauge cluster is terrible.
What a treat!
A fine off-road vehicle for sure, but useless 95% of the time in 2-door format. I will wait for the next-gen 4 Runners.
Luckily this also comes in a four-door variant.
GREAT STUFF 👍 THANKS FOR SHARING!
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION 4 DOOR BRONCO OR 4RUNNER TRD OFF ROAD FOR ALL AROUND, OFF-ROAD AND HIGHWAY???

You have to drive it yourself? Oh no!!! 😂 🤦♂️ - Can’t have a simple car that’s just fun to drive anymore?
I'll wait until they release the Bronco 2dr Max... a lil longer wheel base is a sacrifice I'd be willing to make for extra cargo room. If the Raptor will only be in a 4dr, Ford can give us something special for the 2dr.
Good vid! However, it seems you were not aware that the "amazing" exhaust sound is computer generated...
You would have had plenty of space for your gear.
i really want to like it but i kinda hate it lol
