- Please send this all around to fix this because I've had other gamers ask me how to fix it and I will still deep dive into it maybe I'll write my own ROM to flash to the Odin because I wrote an Application that handles all of their main features like turning on performance modes, changing the fan and so on. So if they can supply us with a root script to change this, than AWESOME but I need your help to share around!

Try to enable and go into _Developer options_, change the _Smallest width_ setting to 600dp, this will enable tablet mode and make the Forced landscape setting consistent to all applications, and prevent applications like UA-cam from being locked in when going into full screen. It could probably possibly fix the rotation of that second screen.
Ayn has been optimizing for tablet mode for the past few months in case you didn't know. First they made their Quickstep service compatible with tablet mode because it crashes in tablet mode, then incorporating some kind of "taskbar", then fixing the layout of the notifications at 600dp because they go outside boundary so they look cut off from the sides. These changes has always been there for the last 3 updates this year if I'm not mistaken, they kept it hidden from their changelogs somehow, except for their latest 1.0.0.318 which they have mentioned it for the first time. Just give it a shot as I feel it as something to do with your issue. If not, at least you can now use an Odin 2 with a more optimized landscape navigation. They could probably be introducing it as a togglable feature in some future update.
It's not that at all, they did something that messed this up. I did notice that whenever I first plug in the DNA Duo the mode thinks it's in portrait. I can change this easily with an adb command or a simple reboot of the device. There is something else going on and I literally spent way to much time trying to find what the deeper issue is.
@@DNAMobileGaming Hmm, I also remember when I have the PPSSPP core in RetroArch would have the content rotated 90 degrees when I was using vulkan driver, and it got fixed in the correct orientation when I switched it to gl. Now there's also an option in Developer options called _Graphics Driver Preferences_. For each app, you are given a choice of “Default" or "System Graphics Driver". Why don't you try fiddling with this or the idea of of it at least.
I tried this and in my testing 450dp is a good sweet spot.
600dp still has bugs like if you don't use gesture navigation, the 3 android buttons at the bottom float above where their supposed to be and a few menu issues.
450 seems to be a nice in-between ground
Oof, that's frustrating. But you know what dude, it was really cool to see that screen working and working well with all those devices. I know that's not the point of the video, but still, just wanted to say you've done incredible work.

3DS Only works currently on the Odin 2 with Linux ;)

POSSIBLE FIX for that issue; ROTATION CONTROL in the app store. I use it on my devices, paid for it since it's super useful. Since some apps don't play nicely with system settings and do their own thing. Like if you disable auto-rotate, some apps ignore that fact, like my note taking app and drawing apps since I have Tab S9s and I use the S Pen constantly. Or for whatever reason, Phones "lock rotation" means ONLY PORTRAIT MODE, can't lock it in LANDSCAPE orientation. SUPER ANNOYING. So, I don't think it's a AYN issue as it's more of an Android OS issue that's been there for the past at least 5 FULL VERSIONS (i.e. 9, 10, 11, 12...). Also, I thought you were going to talk about the annoying bug that I don't know what the requirements are to activate it, but in RETROARCH, it will switch my controls settings, and it's not RETROARCH doing it, since I look at my bindings and they don't change. So i have to go into ODIN settings and toggle back and forth from Nintendo style back to XBOX style, and it fixes the problem. And i know it's not RETROARCH issue since those key bindings get changed for the whole OS, the A and B swap functions, other emulators like Aether doesn't work. Some emulators won't work period if in D-INPUT mode.
EDIT: BASICALLY what I'm saying is, this issue might be dependent on how ANDROID views this device. Is it a PHONE? or is it a Tablet? Those are the only two options. So, Odin 2 might be reigstered as a PHONE and would be interesting to see if this was this way on say the AYA Android Device with the Gen3 chip. Since I'm pretty sure Android functions on SCREEN SIZE to determine what OS flavor you're getting. One possible fix you could try, look at Odin 1, see their DPI settings and try copying that to the ODIN 2 to see if that fixes the problem, since again, pretty sure this is an ANDROID annoyance and not specifically AYN.
That app doesn't work either I even tried another one that requires root neither work. I also tried removing all of Ayns apps via root Explorer then installed the Rotation Control app and that still didn't work. Trust me I tried a lot more than I probably should have.
@@DNAMobileGaming It's been so long since I've been rooting around in Android, but I know there is a file in ROOT you can manipulate the heck out of that changes how Android views it. Controls DPI as well. I think that's the solution.
@tdata545 yeah and it only works for Android 10 and below.
@@DNAMobileGaming I figured as such. Since I noticed with the Odin, since it's the only MODERN device I own with Android on it that still has a 4-pole jack; that Android in all of its wisdom doesn't recognize mic inputs anymore via a headphone mic splitter and a wired lav. I have ALL the audio connectors in the world, and can't get them to play nicely over 3.5mm anymore. Can do it on my Tab S3 which I think taps out at Android 9. Can also do it on my Tab S2s and Tab S1 (I REALLY LOVE THE TAB S LINES, LOL).

Are you going to make a version of this for the Steam Deck? You could work with the Deckmate/Getmechanism guy since he already has a phone mount attachment setup.
There is no version of this it's universal, soon more of your questions will be answered as YES this is already a thing for the Steam Deck and I shared a sneak peak with Reddit and Members how awesome it is for the Steam Deck. The Deckmate is something of it's own thing too, this is completely different as it has a true hinge that opens and closes onto the device it's connect to :D
It’s likely because you are the only person trying to do this, or the newer version of Android why they aren’t spending the time to work through this issue. Since you have a complimentary product soon to release you may be able to get them to fix this. There are some landscaping things that bug me with thr Odin 2 and Mini. Like when rotate is off but the screen will still rotate 180degs if you hold the handheld upside down.
There's a few that have been reaching out to me privately about this but nobody has reached out to Ayn until today now. I was going to do a tutorial about this feature months ago before I starred developing the DNA Duo but the OS was broken so I didn't bother.

I had to read your comment 3 times because I was confused lol, yes it does it with desktop mode as well when you force desktop mode with external displays. Hopefully they fix this soon.

Will clamps be made for most major systems like the rp4 pro and the rg556?
Questions will be answered very soon as the clamps or attachments as I call them, will be sold separately for devices and I might print them myself or share how others can print them. The major attachment I'm currently working on is a universal clamp that will stretch large enough for big devices but work for smaller devices too. I may have said too much lol.

I've never seen this portrait screen bug and I always play DS and 3DS games on my odin 2 when connected to a TV.. kinda like how the Wii-U setup is..
Are you sure that the screen that's in that external screen that you're using as a native landscape screen or is it a native portrait screen?
This isn't a matter of just connecting the Odin 2 and playing on a single screen, this is a bug with their OS. Watch the entire video to get more context on the matter.
What about the Odin pro 1 or just all Odin products

No I stated this in the video too that I'm on the latest build on the blue one which is 318. Their build 208 which was the version I also mentioned at the start of the video is the only version that works.
have you tried this function on the s series and the red magic phones?
My Redmagic 8S Pro works perfectly fine heck the Redmagic has a extend feature where I can play UA-cam on one screen and games on the other. Even my LG and Samsung devices work great.
I’ve emailed ayn and they asked which update it has originated on?
208 is the last update that actually worked, it was 266 that this started with so approx 5 updates ago.
