Please listen to “Between Two Worlds” or “Through Patches of Violet” next! The game Limbus Company follows 12 sinners, their manager, guide, and driver on their journey to the Inferno, and is ripe with literary references. The game is split into Cantos (chapters) that expand on each sinner’s story. For “Compass”, it is the song for Ishmael based off of Moby Dick! Enjoy reacting to Limbus Company!
@@GrimGrooves2 All those sinners are based off main characters of various literatures. Their respective chapters have other characters from the book and the chapter's plot contain the book's story but it happens inside their written universe and is adapted to it.
LIMBUS COMPANY MENTIONED As for context, Limbus Company is the third entry to a series of games made by Project Moon, an indie Korean game team. Lobotomy Corporation (monster management sim), Library of Ruina (deckbuilder card game), and then Limbus Company (turn based battle with roguelite and gacha elements on both mobile and steam). The setting of these games is basically one big dystopian, cyberpunk-esque City ruled by mega corporations and syndicates where human suffering is pretty much a resource. Not exactly horror but there can be some fucked up moments. For Library of Ruina and Limbus Company, PM hires the band Mili to make lyrical songs for the opening sequence and the major bossfights in the game. There's quite a few of them and they're all bangers. Compass in particular is the final boss theme for chapter 5 of Limbus. Without getting too much into it, this chapter/song is heavily based on Moby Dick. Would love to see you cover more songs from this series, even the non-Mili tracks by Studio EIM!
The song fits the character so well it's crazy, for context Ishmael is a sailor who did not know whta to do with her life and so met Ahab and became one of the pequod crew. The meaning of the song is how Ishmael lost her own will and own meaning of life and was so obsessed with revenge that she was ready to do anything just to cut off captain's neck, because she ruined her life. But in The end she understands that she has her own path and her own compass that leads you to where she wants and is not supposed to be someone's puppet and live like they want. This song is genuinely great
Ah, Project Moon... A slew of incredible songs and stories are waiting for you: Lobotomy Corporation: 1st - 3rd Trumpet, Core Suppression Themes Library of Ruina: Iron Lotus, Gone Angels, Children of the City, Blue Reverberation songs, From a Place of Love, All Floor Themes, Roland, Angela, String Theocracy Limbus Company: In Hell We Live Lament, Fly My Wings, Compass ✅, and Through Patches of Violet
Mili is an incredible group of musicians, their work for Goblin Slayer and Project Moon games are phenomenal. I hope you'll react to more, but Mili also sang one song for Arknights, for one very important anniversary, so you know that getting her for your project automatically means good reception and status!
Now THIS is real music. I really recommend to check out Artists like Mili, Seycara, and others like Sheena Ringo. • My favorite from Mili would be String Theocracy • Seycara with Everlasting Summer and his other instrumental songs • Sheena Ringo like Nagaku Mijikai Matsuri and her other songs
For Mili's album I recommend few songs like In hell we live, lament Through patches of violet Rightfully World execute Within Gallahad and scientific Witchery
So, as I am sure my fellow Project Moon Sleeper Agents have mentioned already, Limbus Company is the third game in a series by Project Moon, though it can also function as a standalone game that does not require prior knowledge. Prior Knowledge of Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina does add to the experience though. Mili songs in Project Moon games are almost exclusively used for boss fights, including this one. A few recommendations as a PM and Mili Fan: From Lobotomy Corporation: First Warning Second Warning Third Warning From Library of Ruina: From a Place of Love And then is Heard No More String Theocracy Iron Lotus Children of The City Gone Angels From Limbus Company: Between Two Worlds In Hell we Live, Lament Fly, Broken Wings Through Patches of Violet Intervallo IV-1 Boss Battle Theme These are just a few of my personal favorites. Im sure there will be plenty more suggested by the others.
for this game i would really recommend listening to In hell we live, lament its the intro song for limbus next in line being Between two worlds, after that being Fly my wings and since you already listened to Compass the last one for Limbus for now would be Through patches of violet
Ah Compass, a amazing and emotional boss fight music. Mili songs in the project moon games are generally boss fight themes exceptions being intro and outro themes such as In hell we live, Lament which is the official theme song of Limbus company you should check it out.
Limbus company is a Gacha game that u can find on Steam among other places,i have't played it myself but from what i have heard its story is alot darker then most other gacha games and they seem to love killing off characters. Its always nice to discover a new game via its music so lead us down into the darkness Grim!
Adding a second comment to focus specifically on compass and Limbus. The art in the video is a mili Original, but is inspired by the events that the song is for. The creaking and industrial noises are sounds one could also hear on a large metal sea vessel, as it cruises through the Ocean. As for Gameplay, you take control of a group of 12 characters, each with 3 skills of varying power and color affinity. You need to chain together these skills to various effects and then get to watch each contested interaction be decided by a coin flip that is modified by several factors. Overall, its pretty fun and completely free to play. Project Moon games in general though are known for 2 primary things: 1. Very good storytelling and worldbuilding.(Every single game mechanic, even pausing the game, is canon and has an in world explanation) 2. Having near vertical difficulty spikes mid to late game.
A song that often gets overlooked and is very worth reacting to from limbus company is "intervallo IV-1 boss battle" Its not a named song so people tend to not reccomend it, but its a very unique song that you wont hear much like.
Oooh limbus company!! I haven't actually played any of Project Moon's games but I've watched playthroughs and other footage and they're pretty cool. Library of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation have some really good tracks too, the first that comes to mind is the "Warning" tracks from Lobotomy Corp
Those sounds you say are like creaking metal I think it's meant to be more like whalesong, which makes sense in the context as this song is about Ishmael (like the one from the Moby Dick).
Fyi, the image on Mili channel as you might've guess aren't related to the game Would love to see you listen to more Mili songs, or perhaps even ones from Limbus and its prequels?

Calling limbus a gacha game is correct but i think its underselling the game by a lot.
@@richardomilos8686 Yeah I now realize it doesn't explain what the gameplay is, wanted to keep it short. Edited.
