Al McLarens are my favortie. it's my all-time favorite brand. But I love 720s and p1 the most.
That “McLaren F1 LM” you showed us is NOT a LM model (the one in gray), its a McLaren F1 HDK (High Downforce Kit). It was once a regular F1 untill 2 road version where converted to a HDK version, it looks similar to the LM but it has no LM badge on the rear, has an extra air intake next to the wing and the Interior is furnished unlike the stripped interior of the LM. it is the rarest McLaren to this day, great video tho 👍👍

The interesting thing is that to beat the top speed of the 627 hp McLaren f1, it took more than 1000 hp in the form of the speedtail. By the way my favorite McLaren is the GT.

McLaren are a sinking ship. I know people who used to work for them. They treat their workers like shit and are financially sinking FAST. They sold the McLaren technology center in the last 18 months because they needed to raise money fast. Why they sold it will be spun by them but honestly, watch this space when it comes to McLaren automotive collapsing.

I well remember in 2010 working on the little industrial estate at the opposite end of the Dunsfold Aerodrome, where Top Gear was being filmed. One day, I was walking in to the workshop, and just outside of the unassuming little garage opposite the workshop was a strange looking mid-engined car, with styling disguising wraps stuck all over it. Turns out they were test driving the MP4-12C on the test track. I should have taken a photo of it, it would have been GOLD DUST!
McLaren used Dunsfold to tune parts of that car. Now, Dunsfold is home to GMA so the history and importance is being maintained. I believe the Dunsfold land was sold off a few years ago though.
@@justfrazer3317 Good to know I wasn't imagining it! It was frustrating because we were up one end of Dunsfold, and TG were up the other. The airstrip is also slightly "humped" in the middle, so from where we were, we couldn't see a thing! And you couldn't just wander round because of security. We just went to work and heard massive amounts of tyre squeal some afternoons, when they were testing. Irritating. Especially when you consider I actually went to school with Hammond (that's exactly what we used to call him) in Solihull.
