Impressive how quickly you summed up this player’s swing issue. His movement through the downswing after the right arm adjustment was incredible!

Found your you tube videos about a month ago.
Here in New Zealand just came out of winter and played in a 12 hole stableford competition which I won with 31 points after practising your methods .
I watch a lot of golf tips on you tube but last year my handicap went out from 18 to 25.
So this result after subscribing to your channel is very encouraging as none of these other websites are a patch on your product.
I have deleted all my other playlists and will be pinky using your teachings from now on.thanks so much and keep these instructions coming.
    Regards
    Michael

Actual swing analysis and instruction starts at around 4:00. You’re welcome 👍
This lesson is going to help me out a lot. What you described here is exactly my problem. I make a good backswing with the club perfectly on plane, but at the end of the backswing I make that little lift move, my arms become disconnected with my body, and I’m steep into the ball. As long as I make a slow backswing with a minute pause at the top I do OK, but whenever my instructor tells me to use a little quicker tempo in the backswing to load the shaft a bit more that lift move comes back. 🤷‍♂️
I am working on increasing clubhead speed and distance over the winter, and both of my instructors say I need to increase my tempo to achieve that. Frustrating, because they both say my practice swing is perfect, but when I step up to the ball I can’t duplicate it. This problem is especially prevalent with my driver swing, almost like I don’t trust the quality of my backswing so I reach back for a little extra. With my irons I do much better.

At 75 years old all I ever want to control throughout my entire personal swing is my right upper arm moving under my right shoulder. To me this is the golf swing. Period! Hope to do a video very soon on this. Cheers 👍😃⛳️❤️🥂

Hi Matt! Thanks for watching and the kind words! We truly feel the right arm is such an important piece of the golf swing, learning how to use it properly and presetting it is a huge key for so many people! We continue to see our in person students make huge strides forwards whenever we explain this concept to them!

Great drill! Getting too steep just like this has always been my biggest problem. Just doing this drill in the garage, saw an instant change on video. Can’t wait to hit the range.

That’s great to hear Michael! This is often the reaction we get from people who have struggled getting steep in the downswing, this feel can really provide some immediate results! Thanks for watching! We have more great content coming at you!

I enjoyed this very much especially abt the ‘bounce’ on the top of the back swing (arms moved more than the core) - great teaching and thank you very much

Loved this video/drill i really feel this will help me a lot as i always feel my my right arm /elbow lifting high at the top. My question for you Gabe /Mike, is this a good idea for all clubs? i am going to put this into my set up and would like to know if its done with clubs like wedges and driver?. this summer i have constantly worked on 10 /10 drill and love warming up on a wall before any session and it has made a huge difference, i feel if i add this to the set up it will all marry in nicely.

Great job, Mike. 20min mark, so helpful to me. I hit the ball far better w hideki drill. But the extra point abt the club stopping w no additional movement I’ve never considered. Problematic for me as I get long and the club settles and I’m in trouble. Taking this to the range today.

Hi Adam, When Brian is saying turn the right side what does he mean? the core or just turning the right shoulder back?

  • @hakirk1

When the student takes his grip after doing the motion of opening the right arm , isn’t he closing it up again? Would he be better taking his grip and then moving his elbow in towards the body?

Is Brian feeling like his chest moves towards the ball and his butt moves back in the downswing? He seems to do a great job of staying down and maintaining his posture through impact - wonder what his feel is (chest down or leader shoulder down and around, etc)

    • @PorzakGolf
      @PorzakGolf  2 роки тому

Either way Canefan, those ideas are both right. You have to get the feels that work best for you!!

Sounds like your arms lift independently of your body in the Backswing and then you slide forward to your front foot through the golf ball. Turn your arms to the top in your backswing so that your left arm matches your shoulder and feel yourself keep your weight in your trail foot longer in transition.

Adam, I struggle so much with the takeaway. I just don’t understand how to hinge the wrist. And if I do I don’t make the best contact. My golf pro teaches what you teach. I just can’t connect with it mentally
