Aside from the adventurous and athletic aspects of this all, I am most impressed by your tolerance of dealing with assembling all your gear on a cold and windy day.... I can barely remember to bring wax and a fin key... I guess that's what separates us more surface-level surfers from the foilers and wingers!
hahaha thanks bud! yeah it's brutal sometimes. but better than setting up for kiting, mostly cause you can do it off the beach. but once on the water, you surfers def have the edge. my hands are never warm mid-winter and we get no breaks while holding a wing so it's misery. gotta pick the right days. hope yr getting time out there! are you in SA now?? I wish you an awesome weekend wherever you are!
Welcome to Team Kaohi! New Double Coil Looks great. Orange matches the color of the day. We give you tons of credit for charging in the cold. Pure stoke. Yewww!
that's right!! I honestly can't stand using glasses out there unless it's a chill day, mostly cause it impairs my vision but maybe some clear safetly glasses are the way to go cause you have so much more to look through. I'll def consider that. I usually wear my hat which would have helped but after seeing Kai crack his helmet last week it was a good reminder to wear the helmet, especially in wave sessions. thanks bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!!
That's probably the most stoke post session glow I've ever seen from you in a video Jeremy. 😊 Glad you had an awesome session and were rocking it! 🎉 Ride on brother! 👍
Woohoo!! Still riding the stoke from that sesh. It was a great way to get to know this foil, and that foil was super smooth and made those gnar conditions a little easier. I’m stoked! Thanks and I wish you an awesome week!!
@OCEANBOUND1 I recently bought the 880, but I have to wait until April to try it, since the lakes in Minnesota won't thaw until then. But seeing your Cloud9 post session glow after riding the 880 made me feel like throwing down big bucks for Armstrong's newest foil is going to pay off! You're stoked, and I'm stoked! 🥳
@@jessejohnson4589 sorry bud I missed this comment! stoked you got one! I actually just got 2 more in (680/780) and I'm super stoked to try them... same here, it's been freaking cold! but at least with the 880, I finally feel like I have a foil that the pumping feels totally natural and not forced... at least coming from every other Armie foil. LMK when you finally get on yours!!
It's summer where I am and that looks Soo cold , well done. I have been riding the 980 for a few weeks and just had my first session on the 780 a couple of days ago, on the 980 I could drop 1m in wing size and still get up easy, I went out half a m less on the 780 and that seemed good but as it's only one session I can't be sure. Love your channel, keep the great content coming.
woot woot! thanks bud!! I've been on the 880 for 3 sessions now and I can finally say I'm hooked. I'm gonna get the 680 and 1080 as well for my dw board. these things are rad, I'm STOKED!
Made me cold just watching bud full send . 174 bpm on the heart wow gnar .looked a good but tricky session. It's good to see the mood charged when you got out and looked full on concentration going in love it, man .New wind seems to turn rail to rail just sweet . Have an awesome weekend 😊
haha yup full send!! 174bpm... it's high but I think my reaction was that I thought it would have been higher, considering some of those circumstances :P new foils are good. def something I like riding. so far nothing that detracts from them - rail to rail is good, speed is good, glide is good, pump is good. so I'm stoked. I hope yr life is getting a little calmer and you get some good winds bud! I wish you an awesome weekend!
@OCEANBOUND1 Yes, life after the Xmas rush is good. I just need some winds. we are getting sup surf sessions, but there is no wing. I struggled with the armi ha 1080 found it so twichy with the aspect 9.5 ish however it seemed locked in for you maybe just as im a big guy 🤔
@@christomo well the 1080 is def bigger! I’m on the 880, which seems to replace the 925 and the 1080 seems to replace the 1325. I’m selling my 1325 and will get the 1080, but it will be for DW and light winds. So I can’t comment on that one but the 880 is def really nice and smooth.
Stoked for you!! That’s gonna be great for some high wind situations. And yeah, you gotta appreciate a spot with easy access to the fun stuff. That is a cool spot that I dont go to enough… I’m always trying to ride Nahant cause I like the waves better and I just get so stoked there, but great to switch it up too! I wish you an awesome week bud!!
Sick! And thanks! Yeah the 880’is great. I’ve had a few sessions on it now and the last one was the best yet. I’m hooked, it’s good. I initially ordered the 780 and 680 but ended up getting the 880 cause it was the only thing available. So now o guess I’ll do the 680/880/1080 combo. Stoked to try that 1080 on the dw board. The 880 is the best pumper I’ve ever used. That doesn’t say a lot, but I like the pump on it more than any other Armie foils.
Amazing session, cool !! I tested the other day the 880 in 18 knots and found it easier to get on foil that on the ma1000. I am thinking to get the 980, think will be able to park the wing for longer than with the 880 and the 1180 for sup surfing, sup downdwinging and light wind winging. And for now keeping the ma1000 for stronger winds and heavier bumps/waves and maybe later get another smaller ha, 880 or 780. I am 86Kg.
Nice! Yeah the 880 is nice, my plan is to sell the 1325 and replace with the 1080, and then prolly round it all out with the 680. But I do think that 780 will be nice too. Highly considering. I got the 880 over 26mph the other day, and I’m pretty sure I can do more so I’m excited to rip bigger waves with it. And I agree, the 1000 stays but is for those really windy days I wanna carve hard. But maybe I can get the 880 and 680 to carve the same?!? So exciting to figure this stuff out. Gonna be a great year!!
Thx for reply. Whats your weight? I will have 1180, 980 and then later probably 780 or 880. The MAs I ride them on 8 in the new fg board and the HA probably 7 or 6.5, where are you riding it? Have a great day.@@OCEANBOUND1
@@RamonSBruhn yoyoyo! I'm around 77kg. so I'd prolly be on the slightly smaller one than you. I ride every Armie foil in my v1 FG board at 8... but I just ran into an issue with the 880 and the dart at 8... I may have to push it forward a little, I kept burring the nose. awesome bud I love questions! have an amazing day!
sup bud?!? I've had 4 sessions on it now, and yeah this was the first sesh. 795 mast. and yeah, it didn't really feel like a survival sesh by any means but the sea was a little angry and it's always a nice reminder that we are alive :) thanks and I wish you an awesome weekend!
lol... it'll happen this year D. more time on the flatwater will make it happen. I'm thankful for all the PBay time I get. I've always figured if my transition completion rate is 60%, it's gonna be more like 30% in crazy conditions. Yirrell is kinda like cheating cause you have that super easy sheltered part I that I can nail like very transition. it's def the best place to get a taste of waves without having to manage the stress of breaking waves and getting out.
Yoyoyo! I use an Apple Watch and the Hoolan app. It’s free, I like what they are doing. I used Waterspeed for over a year but I just like the way this one works a little better.
Sup bud! I use an Apple Watch and the Hoolan app. I used Waterspeed before and I not prefer Hoolan. Check it out! I love how it gives random stats like transition rates.
Nice .. I sit here afer my windswell surf session happy .. But man .. yours .. in that weather .. again respect ... tell me how much time do you have to drive to get to the spots normally ?
Sup bud! It’s funny… I easily could have made this day into a 30 min episode, I had to cut out so much stuff. We went to another beach (Nahant) and it was bigger and looked better but waaaaay too much seaweed to get out so we flipped to this beach. This place is kinda special, non-breaking kinda open ocean waves. So it’s nice when it’s good but I always prefer the waves at Nahant. The sea floor is really nice there for waves. Without traffic I’m 20 min from Nahant and Yirrell Beach in Winthrop is about the same. I live right in Boston, down the street from Pleasure Bay so I’m lucky there but no waves 😢. Everything else is a drive. Rhode Island is 1:40, Cape Cod is 1:30. Horseneck is an hour. I do consider myself lucky. 🍀

Loving the new leash. Everything about it. Perfect length, the padded belt is great. Stoked on team Kaohi!! Talk soon.
25 knot cold snain doesn't stop OB. Lance swears by the clear safety glasses. Looked comfortable on the 880 right out of the box. Nice work!
