    Aren't you supposed to play twister on a spotted mat of different colours? You must have a good memory if you know where the colours should be off by heart. Where's the spinner?

    When I wrestled in college I liked to do a duck under (or arm drag) to the back, sacrifice to the ground, and go to cross body ride for control or stalling. It seems the twister would work from that position. One of the things I like about BJJ is wrestling is a great foundation to use to do that. I've heard it said that wrestlers are uncomfortable working off their backs, but I don't find that at all.

    • @Raao1
      @Raao1 4 роки тому +5

      It's normal. The twister comes from catch as catch wrestling and is known as Wrestlers guillotine. Also modern wrestling comes from cacw.

      @@danielmattos2813 In my training we mostly start standing. The brilliant thing about BJJ is the guard off your back. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer, lol

    Mr. Kesting, sir. That was very humble of you to give Mr. Bravo the recognition for the Twister. And you're right, it is your video, so all the more reason for expressing gratitude to you're being modest and fair. That's enough of a reason for my being a subscriber to your channel. Much respect.

  • @mofogie

    the twister is a badass move, one of the most painful in my opinion. You can break my elbow, ankle, dislocate my shoulder, and i'll keep fighting, albeit not effectively, but i can fight through the pain. You pull a twister on me, and i'm finished. The body simply will shut down when that central nervous system is split down the middle.

    • @rdn6933
      @rdn6933 2 місяці тому

      Your foot is on the outside of their leg, you’d have to make a pretty big positional mistake for them to be able to get a crank on that ankle. Even if they did manage to lock around it with their leg/s I don’t think it would work since it’s not your ankle over your own ankle

    It looks like the guy in the blue gi could swipe the hands of the white gi guy off his head with his free hand. This is why you have to continue using striking while on the ground for self defense which is what MMA is all about.

    in wrestling it's called a guillotine. You can also get a bicep crush too from there.

      bicep crush? enlighten us :)

    • @1upmydog
      @1upmydog 9 років тому +2

      Most of the time people will grip their hands together so that you can't put or swim their arms over your head. If they do that then use the bone of your wrist. Put it in between the joints of the arm. push or pull, depending on the free hand. bring the opponent's arm together to get the bicep crush. They will tap from the bicep crush due to the your wrist bones cutting into his muscle.

      you can start to take pleasure in rolling and fighting probably after a week or so of training. and to become somewhat good it always depends on your determination and the effort that you put in.the important in any grappling sport whether it be judo, bjj, sambo, etc is to in my opinion have fun and yes, strive to be good at what you do, but also not to let it get to your head and do not be the guy that everyone hates beacause all he wants is to win and or just always fights with rage and always feels bitter or gets angry when he gets beaten during training

    • @1upmydog
      @1upmydog 9 років тому

      It depends if you go to a school that will teach you as fast as you can learn the stuff. Lots of schools will used you as a punching bag and won't show you moves. I have a fellow student who is almost a blue belt level now that can hang with a purple NAGA champ from another school. It's because he listen to us and trust us. He tried other jujitsu schools but hated it until he met us. Also, I taught him it's not the color of the belt that matter is what matter inside yourself. I personally refuse to accept my purple belt. It's about self improvement and not lying to yourself that you should get a higher rank belt. It's nice and honor to get a higher rank belt but I rather know I deserved it than getting it.
