In 2nd grade, we saw ‘GM’ written on our slides at recess, and I never heard of game master until one kid said, “that means game master!” And then he explained what that was. And we started noticing a ton more messages, and I was so terrified. We all thought we were Sherlock Holmes knockoffs or something. I went to this after school group at the reck center. I was so scared of game master snatching me that I said to the hosts, “can I go outside to look out for game master? And they had no idea what that was and they just said, “Sure, I guess?” So I went out, and told my mom, and she was saying “so why did you go outside?” And in 2nd grade, I had the idea that I was a big strong warrior that could protect everyone. So I said, “to protect everyone.” My mom thought it was similar to those girls who thought slender man was telling them to kill their friends, so I was banned from UA-cam for 2 years straight. Then after a while those kids said, “oh it was just teens writing ‘good morning’. And I was having nightmares of being kidnapped by the game master. I was definitely not the brightest child.
Honestly, this might be the best thing I've ever read.
this is the funniest thing ever. I kind of had a similar experience. when I was younger outside at recess there was this cement wall that had "tgm" engraved on it. it was probably just a company but we all thought it was for "the game master" and whenever planes would fly above us we would get scared it was his drones watching us.

I had smthing similar, in like 3rd grade we came back from recess and we all had weird papers of the "creepypasta" magazine of like slenderman or something and we were all confused and this one kid was like "I'm going to detective this case" and I ended up joining him and so did my current best friend at the time. They would both sneak in during recess' to match up the handwriting in the magazine with the ones in people's folders, whilst I distracted the teachers since I disliked sneaking inside. This happened for like a week and my best friend left mid-year at winter break so it was just me and the other guy solving it, like 2 months later it came back up again and we had drawn a conclusion that it was these 2 kids, and then we announced it at the end of the day and he said "I tricked you all" and I felt so embarrassed about it ._.
I was on the opposite of this situation, I left purposefully cryptic messages anywhere I went to freak people out

I remember volunteering as a helper for my sister’s class August birthday party. The kids would make fake Game master notes and pass them to each other during class. You could tell it was the kids because of the crappy spelling and hand writing. It got so bad that a little girl who didn’t know about it was freaked out by finding a random note in the turn in bin. The teacher ended up yelling at the kids for writing notes like that. Gotta admit, the kids were pretty convinced by the crappy notes.

So first of all, I have been to the Rebecca zimolo “sunken city” and it is technically a sunken city, in the sense that back in the day a bunch of buildings slid into the water after a landslide. BUT the area is far from abandoned since it is surrounded by not only houses but also a massive park. Fun fact: I actually live quite close to Sunken City and its got an interesting story. It used to be a ritzy neighborhood back in the late 1920s and early 30s before the land slid out from under the houses and they got destroyed and fell in the ocean. Its less of a sunken city now and more of a street and some house remains. Still pretty cool though
