Janet Jackson rhythm nation reaction ua-cam.com/video/jRN2WoWkIbE/v-deo.html
Did you ever see Michael and Janet’s song Scream?
YES!!!! You can't go wrong with Janet!! "Nasty", "Control", "When I Think of You", "Pleasure Principal", "Rhythm Nation", "Miss You Much", "Escapade", "Black Cat", "Alright", "Love Will Never Do", "That's The Way Love Goes", "If" and "Together Again" (and these barely scratch the surface!) SO many other great songs from her! Great reaction! Definitely looking forward to more Miss Jackson reactions from you!!
Nasty is the one!
'Alright' is my favorite Janet song. Especially, the remix with The Late Great Heavy D. Video is awesome! Full of dancing legends 😉
One of my first albums. She's amazing!
Don't forget Nasty Boys.
"No my first name ain't baby
. It's Janet, Miss Jackson if you're nasty"
Her friend in the beginning of the video is Paula Abdul who also choreographed the video.
Didn't realize it was Paula Abdul.
Her songs were good ones to dance to as well. "cold hearted snake" , "straight up", "Forever your girl" and the slow ones like "Rush Rush"
Tina Landon(she ended up being Janet's choreographer in the late 80s/90s) is in there too - didn't recognize her in her 80s look LOL
you need to check out rhtyem nation you'll that one more
@@keishastephenson3710 I think he did straight up
@@deesee3622 yes he did!!
Dude. After Madonna, no woman had more hits in the 80s and 90s than Janet.
both icons!
In the 80s Whitney and Janet were pretty equal but Mariah dominated the 90s.
Whitney for both decades was very much up there too with record amounts of hits.
Except Janet could actually sing.
Most #1s in the US list makes for interesting reading. Of the females - Mariah has 19, Rihanna 14, Madonna 12, Whitney 11, Janet 10.
Janet is a MEGASTAR herself! You’ll like this journey!
Do Rhythm Nation. Great Dancing!
OMGG YES! That is a tuuune 🎶🙌🏼
Yes!
I think the people have spoken
When I want to watch someone watch a music video this is my guy. Oh yeah, do Rhythm Nation.
Straight🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!!!!!!!
The woman at the beginning talking with her is also her choreographer and famous in her own right - Paula Abdul.
I wondered if he'd notice the cameo 💓
lmao i didn't recognize her.
I caught that for the first time watching it with him, and just shook my head. To be fair, when I was younger I was to busy learning the dance moves.
what ? straight up?
Cold hearted snake!
When both Janet and Michael were big people would joke they were the same person "Have you ever seen them in the same room" 🤣 and then they released a song together called Scream.
Michael joked about it at the 1993 Grammy’s when she presented him with his Legend Award as it proved they really were 2 different people😂
LOVE Scream. Great song. Cool video too.
Janet is one on the biggest selling female artist of all time. JLO was her back up dancer. Janet is multi talented she wrights her music, sings, dances, actress. I highly recommend Rhythm Nation, What About VH1 Live version, Control, If, Doesn’t Really Matter Live performance, All For You, Feedback, That’s the Way Love Goes, Racism, Again, I get lonely
Paula Abdul was in this video
@@jeraldbennett9289 yes she was
Everyone was so focused on the Jackson 5 and Michael''s talent, then Janet sort of came out of nowhere and blew every one away
yep lol that's how it happened... exactly. ^_^
So much so MJ had to put out Bad to compete lol.
Wow! You don’t know who Janet “Miss Jackson if you’re nasty” is? She’s a legend in her own right. Start off with “Nasty”, “Control” and “Pleasure Principal.” There’s a lifetime of work to check out. Janet is definitely one of the greatest of all time! ❤️
Also “Let’s wait a while!”
@Bob J Lol!! 😂
She’s totally UNDERrated
@@robertshepherd7855 He didn't grow up in the U.S.
She has SO MANY SONGS!!!
"Come Back to Me"
"Let's Wait Awhile"
"Nasty"
"When I Think Of You"
"Pleasure Principal"
"Control"
"Rhythm Nation"
"Alright"
"That's The Way Love Goes"
"If"
"Anytime, AnyPlace"
These are just the one from the top of my head. I grow up in the 80's so I prefer those, but she has so many.
Oh yeah Let's wait Awhile was the first ballad i heard her sang back in the day....and it still is a beautiful song
Miss you much
This is just the beginning. The whole family is talented but Michael & Janet took it to a level no one ever imagined. My favorite Janet video is "Miss you much" The dancing is on point.
She was acting when she was younger, She appeared television shows throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, including Good Times, Diff'rent Strokes, and Fame. She got popular in 1982 with album Control followed by Rhythm Nation
She is still really young here, her dancing gets much better esp during Rhythm Nation era
And pleasure principle.
Complete 80s style. Hairstyle, oversized blazer with huge shoulder pads, button down long shirt, stretch pants and probably flat pointy shoes or capezios dancer shoes. Most girls went to the salvation army thrift store and bought men's blazers and long coats and rolled up the sleeves. Overall fun decade.
Fun, simpler times, 😔 not so much judgment back then, it was all about expressing yourself.
I rocked those shoulder pads with capezio shoes. I still love putting on the moves but at 56, people don't get I was once 16... Weren't we all? Pretty in pink and Breafast Club times? 😏 Damn life was so good in the old days. 😌
Yeah, I miss my stretchpants and pointy boots, we bought those clothes in vintage stores. Sweet memories 😎😍
Pleasure Principle, That’s the Way Love Goes, Control.... so many amazing Janet Jackson songs PLEASE do more of her songs.
Ok. Jump in head first and check out “If” or “Love Will Never Do (Without You)”.
Also- it’s funny to hear you say ‘where’s she been this whole time’ 😂. She was bigger than her brother for a while.
Ooo! Pleasure Principle and If!
Pleasure Principle!!! the dancing is awesome!
Definitely!
Hot song!
This song is from Janet's 1986 album "Control". I was 22 years old at the time and it was me & my crew's album of the year. A stunning album, it has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. Aaahhhhh......precious memories...!!
INSANE to realize it's been 35 years....!!! Where does the time go?!?!?
The woman sitting at the table talking to Janet at the beginning is singer/dancer/choreographer, Paula Abdul. Paula also choreographed the video. Janet is the youngest of the Jacksons. She was 3 when their debut album came out in 1969. She was ABSOLUTELY HUGE in the 80s and 90s!!! She has soooo many monster hits!!!! Rhythm Nation, Miss You Much, Nasty, Control, If, All For You and Alright are just a few songs that showcase her dancing skills. You should also do Scream which was a duet with MJ.
Paula Abdul was in the Nasty video too.
Didn't Paula develop a disease that kept her from dancing? So sad. I never cared for her music but that's sad.
She was huge!!! Great music from this Jackson phenomenon!!! She's just as talented as her brother was, in my opinion. You ever watch the old sitcom Good Times?? She played the abused little girl Penny.
I 2ND THAT 😁, I REMEMBER GOOD TIMES‼️ ♥️, & JANET ♥️ PORTRAYING PENNY , THIS SHOW WAS FROM THE 70'S , JAYVEE WASENT BORN YET 😁
"Let's wait awhile" is an underrated one.
Yes! I’ve requested it and commented on it throughout this thread! A must!
I didn't realize until today that That was Janet Jackson! They still play it on a local radio station.
I remember her Rhythm Nation stuff better
Her Album "Control" is just iconic. Every single track!
More Janet!!! “Nasty”, “Control”, “Rhythm Nation”, “Escapade”, “When I think of you”, “Pleasure principle”. A good rabbit hole to go down.
"Where was she all this time?" Where were YOU all this time? Janet has performed with her brothers in music & TV. She is an actress from her role on Good Times (as a child), to Poetic Justice (with Tupac), and Tyler Perry's Why did I get Married? (1 & 2). 5 Grammys and still holds records as a top selling artist. BOY, You better Google Ms. Jackson. LOL!
He's young and I bow down to his curiosity.
And on Diff'rent Strokes as Willis' girlfriend
and on 'the kids from fame'..😎
It's our good fortune that he has not heard these so we get to enjoy them for the first time with him❤
Yes, finally her song catalog is equal to and even passes her brother
Agreed
What are you actually smoking?
passes? lol!!!!!! suuuuure
She’s an absolute goddess and icon in every way ... but no one has or ever will surpass Michael.
Agree!
To get a feel of her, I would recommend "That's The Way Love Goes" and "Rhythm Nation". Also, her and Michael did a song together called "Scream".
Yeah I agree I'd pick those 2 to get a good feel for her. Nasty is another.
If I remember correctly, those are both on the same album as If? That's a great album.
@@Krista2882 I never got into Janet. Crazy right? I think I was busy being all melancholy & depressed listening to Morrisey or Joy Division or something. But I always knew she was a slick dancer esp in RHYTHM NATION & I remember liking the clip to THAT'S THE WAY LOVE GOES
Janet was HUGE in the 80s and she had so many hits! Enjoy this little rabbit hole. :)
in the 90s and 00s too!
Growing up Janet was my 3rd fave after Madonna and MJ. We had mega talent in the 80s
“When I Think Of You” is probably my favorite of all of Janet’s. You’re gonna fall in love like the rest of us! ❤️
Scream (duet with Janet & Michael), Rhythm Nation, Alright (with Heavy D), Pleasure Principle, the rabbit hole is deep ...
Four words: Janet Jackson Rythmn Nation. Nuff Said!
If you want to see brother and sister together, watch Scream. Amazing!
She knows how to put on a show. Dance choreography always big.
When she was a child and late teen she had roles on popular TV shows like Good Times and later Fame
OMG ‼️ I REMEMBER GOOD TIMES ❤️ , & SHE PLAYED PENNY 👧, THAT WAS LIKE 1OO YRS AGO 😂😂 , I WAS A BIG FAN OF JANET'S ❤️ 🎵🎵💃
Different Strokes too.
I forgot about her on Fame! Wasn't it around this time that this song came out?
Could it be, no dont say it..." You been sleeping" on Janet Jackson Bro...never seen you do speechless and I been watching you for a year!!😁
That’s the way love goes ... is THE vibe.
Yes! Love it💕
😍
Fun fact for you: Janet also has vocal credits in Michael Jackson’s Thriller album.
Yes on PYT
This is only the beginning. She been around. You're the one who's lost. She's a whole legend. Lol
Janet Jackson - “any time, any place.”
Oooooooooo... I LOVE THAT SONG!
Very hot🔥
It’s hard to believe you’ve never heard that song! It’s a classic banger. Anything by Janet is pure 🔥 Try Jodie Watley “Lookin’ For A New Love” Most of the Jackson’s have recorded solo projects. Try Rebbie Jackson, Michaels oldest sibling and her song “Centipede “.
And there's Latoya.
I remember when she was very young Her and Michael had their own tv show. She is a SUPERSTAR herself. She slowed down some for family. She's had HUGE HITS.
I remember when this hit, people couldn't believe it.
Escapade is sooo good. And react to the duet she and Michael did. Why can’t I remember the name of the song? The one that takes place in a space shuttle?
Edit: It’s called SCREAM
Escapade was filmed with one camera, one take, moving on a track.
After this video - everyone girl saying
"What has he done for me late----ly?"
🤣🤣🤣
Too true. Me and my homegirls would pull out that line in a heartbeat. Fellows knew it was over. Needless to say we were called diggers. But we were really not into the guys that got that line. LOL!!!😝😝
Janet was also in TV series FAME... lots of dancing!
She was also in the TV show “Good Times” back when the Jackson 5 was doing their thing. She played “Penny”, the girl in the apartment across the hall from the Evans’ apartment.
Love Janet!!! ❤️👍👏👏👏 Btw...that was Paula Abdul sitting at the table with her in the beginning. 😃
Dang it... You beat me to it! Paula choreographed that video too!
@@dennish300 yeah and Nasty also
@@dennish300 That I didn't know 😮
That's my girl! Janet is the "baby" of the Jackson family. When she put her talents together with the skills of producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis they had a string of hits throughout the 80s & 90s. Janet is a legend in her own right.
Check out Scream with MJ and her
Seriously.. that should be next!!
Janet Jackson:
Love Will Never Do
If
That’s the Way Love Goes
Nasty
Control
Check out 'Pleasure Principle' and 'That's the Way Love Goes' from Janet, 2 of her best songs.
Whenever I hear this song it always reminds me of that Eddie Murphy stand up routine 😂
Haa oooo ooooo ooooo I don't see no ring on this finger
Great routine love Eddie Murphy 👌 😊😁
Paula Abdul was one of her dancers... in this video she was wearing black tights... long white shirt with a black belt
Paula was also Janet’s dance choreographer.
She did a song with Herb Alpert that's really good too - "Diamonds"
Hi, Jay. Janet is also very talented. She has a great voice and dancing skills! Yes definitely 80s. Love it!
My girlfriend and I would go clubbing Dancing to this - my girlfriends name was Janet and my last name was Jackson-“My names Janet Miss Jackson if your nasty”! We would sing that line and laugh our butts off! Back in the day......
Same- iconic line!
“I didn’t know she could be this talented”. Umm... someone’s been living under a rock, much?
"Together Again" is really beautiful, nice dance routine.
There are 9 Jacksons 3 girls in the family, Janet is the baby - she has sister Latoya and another Rebbie they also had solo careers but Janet and Michael blew it out of the water. You have to listen to more Janet - she has great songs from the Control album (1986) and this is one of them. she had two albums before this but they didnt do well because she was just trying to find her sound and she was really young I thing 16 and 18 - here she is 20 and she always considers this her first album; Michael, Madonna, Prince, George Michael, Whitney Houston, Janet are iconic!
there were actually 10. Marlon had a twin that died as an infant
@@1984msmocha yeah I know
Please react to either "When I Think of You" for a fast groove, or "That's the Way Love Goes" for a slow jam!!!
Man if you haven't heard the song "Scream" by Janet AND Michael Jackson, you definitely should.
Jayvee, I really dig how well rounded and open you are. Keep up the great work on your channel, Brother 👍🏾💖
"Black Cat" is my favorite Janet Jackson song. I would wait a few to do this one, since this is more of a rocker song like Joan Jett or Pat Benatar. I know Janet from "Different Strokes" a sitcom from the 80s. If you haven't watched that show Jayvee, I think you will like it. I can't remember the detail, but I think the maid of a wealthy businessman dies a long with her husband, and then he ends up taking care of their two kids. It's a comedy.
Janet Jackson was the youngest of the Jackson family. She rocked the 80s with a number of top hits.
Oh my God Janet is an icon in her own right. Some great dancing miss you much rhythm nation pleasure principle. And on and on and on
She inspired a generation of singers and dancers and along with her brother Michael, helped mtv and the popularity of music videos
"i get so lonely"
"if"
"that's the way love goes"
Also, check the unknown Jackson sister, Rebbie Jackson. Her only hit Centipede was awesome!
I love Janet so much! Thanks for reacting❤
You should watch “Alright.” It was a classic video with tons of great choreography and it’s when she was at her prime! So many great songs from the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s!
Hey Jay! There's only one Janet, she went from playing Penny on the comedy" Good times" to superstar! Your next reaction should be "Nasty Boys " she kills it in that video! 🔥🔥
MORE JANET JACKSON!!!!! You will not regret this rabbit hole, she is phenomenal. Singer, dancer, actress, TRAILBLAZER.
-"If"
-"Again"
-"That's the Way Love Goes"
-"I Get So lonely" ft blackstreet
Those are just a few of my faves and they're absolutely amazing, but her catalog is endless, she is a phenomenal entertainer.
"That's the way love goes" By Janet!
Yes, she is Michael's sister. Also definitely 80s hair doos.
Janet was a huge deal in the 80's into the 90's. She had the moves too.
My goodness she had SO MANY HITS! This is from her first album "Control" which EVERYONE owned and played to death! Then her album "Rhythm Nation" blew everyone's mind. She's as influential as her brother!
huge influence her and Michael started the whole choreography in videos in the 80s
Janet and Michael did a duet called "Scream" - the video is wild.
Check out "Centipede" by the other sister, Rebbie Jackson. She's the oldest. It was her only hit. Also, not sure you noticed, but the friend Janet is talking to at the beginning of the video is Paula Abdul, who was her choreographer for years before she became a singer.
Welcome to the world new born. Check Reebie Jackson- Centipede. She's the older sister.
Janet Jackson doesn't have a strong singing voice; what she Does have is confidence & a strong work ethic, like Michael. Both spent hours rehearsing/choreographing dance routines, and it shows. My favorite song & video of hers is Love Will Never Do Without You; she looks really good in it, too. I remember a video of Michael laughing/grousing about her asking him to use some "military" moves of his for her Rhythm Nation album; the magic worked & it sold 12m copies. Nice to see people still want to hear her👍
You think Michael Jackson didn't have a strong singing voice?
Like Jam & Lewis have said in interviews, she has a voice like Diana Ross that you can sing along with. Whereas the Whitneys and Mariahs are singers you listen to. Fair point, and doesn’t detract from her talent.
And I’m not reading it as Michael doesn’t have a strong singing voice, I’m reading it as they both share a work ethic. That’s what I’m hoping was meant, cos otherwise😳
@@goldencherry9033 nah, I read it as some shade on Michael. Michael doesnt belong in a conversation about voices and their strength.
@@jennifertebomosiane9596 Read my comment again. I happen to be an admirer of MJ's talents, both singing and dancing. His voice really shone in songs like She's Out Of My Life, which happened to have been written with Frank Sinatra in mind till the songwriter heard Michael sing it. Opinions are just that: I'll state again for you: Janet Jackson was a great performer, but she did Not have Michaels' vocal abilities. If you think otherwise, that's your right.
@@trismaccarran9950 maybe read what you wrote again. Because that's not what you wrote.
The Jackson had a family show and she was 5 year old and was part of the show performing with all of them, yes they are all very talented.
she is the baby of the family...she was in the tv shows DIFFERENT STROKES AND GOOD TIMES
You should definitely react to Michael and Janet’s video “Scream”! 😎
She easily keeps up with Michael in that one. And that’s not an easy thing to do!
Listen to Jermaine Jackson and Pia Zadora - When the rain begins to fall, this song was huge in the 80's all around the world
I appreciate that you seem to be the only reactor taking recommendations from the comments instead of just copying what everyone else is doing. For more Janet, Rhythm Nation and Black Cat.
Janet Jackson is a legend in her own right!
J.Lo got her big break as one of Janet Jackson’s dancers.
She was a fly girl first 😍
@@nzflavad I couldn’t remember which came first. Those years are a blur. LOL
@@nzflavad Fly Girl was AFTER. She worked with Janet first and received a gig with In Living Color after her brief stint with Janet
The girl in this video is Paula Abdul J-Lo was in her 90s videos
Checkout the song she did with michael called “scream”
In the beginning scene at the table, that was Paula Abdul asking Janet "What has he done for you lately?" Paula choreographed the dance moves I suspect too.
Janet's debut album was epic. All of her albums were brilliant. Miss these tunes!
You MUST react to her song "Rhythm Nation" next. It has a harder edge than this great song and it is even funkier. It was a huge hit.
Janet is a true megastar! I'm so glad you've started this journey. Rhythm Nation, Pleasure Principle, Escapade... you can't go wrong with any of her many hits.
Paula Abdul the lady talking with Janet at the beginning of this video was the choreographer for this video and taught Janet and everybody else the dance moves for this video. A year later Paula made her own album and reached number one all over the world with the song Straight Up Tell Me and had three other number one hits in her career. Then in the 2000s Paula became a judge on American Idol as one of the three original American judges for that show.
Can you react to Janet's "When I think of you, or Escapade, or Rhythm Nation.
They have Rebbe Jackson who released Centipede". Nice try, but not talented, then the other sister LaToya, who also tried but has absolutely no talent at all. Janet is the youngest in the family. When she was around 5 or 6, the Jackson 5 put her in their shows and did a little shtick where she imitated Mae West.
“If” and “Love will never do” are my faves from her.
In the 80's, it was a back and forth between Michael and Janet. Thriller (Michael), Control (Janet), Bad (Michael), Rhythm Nation (Janet), Dangerous (Michael), Janet (Janet).
You need to do "Black Cat"- Janet Jackson and "That's the Way Love Goes" Jennifer Lopez is a back up dancer in that video.
I recommended black cat to that songs amazing
Hell no !
She got better over the years! This was early in her singing career. She started as an actress on the show Good Times.
This was her biggest shine to free from her father's control in music industry. She represented her freedom, independence & her own control in destiny. She is still a legend. That's why she is, Janet Jackson! Also she had been started into entertainment with her brothers like the tv shows back in the 70s & the early 80s like Good Times. So this was her biggest breakthrough for her.
Janet Jackson is a triple threat 🔥🔥🔥- she sings, dances, and acts, and excels at all three. Those of us who grew up in the ‘70s first saw Janet when she was a child actress, playing Penny in a heart-wrenching storyline on Good Times. She has continued to act since then, but her success as a recording artist is was propelled her to superstardom in the 80s and 90s. Check out her songs “Control,” “Nasty,” “Love Will Never Do (Without You),” “Black Cat,” “That’s the Way Love Goes,” and “Again.”
