Swayze was an absolute pro in everything he did: acting, dancing, horse riding, singing, kicking ass. He deserved another 30 years on this planet than he got.
They were her parents. You need to see the movie. Set in 1963 in the Catskills at a Jewish resort. Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) was an employee at the resort and the girl, Baby, (Jennifer Grey) was a guest. Guests and the hired dancers weren’t supposed to mingle. Great soundtrack from the 60’s. You’ll love it.
I remember an interview where Patrick Swayze said he played many romantic scenes in different movies but Jennifer Grey made him lose his “composure” in their love scene. That love scene without visible sex was so “hot”.
I get tears in my eyes every time I watch this, and I have seen it a million times. This moment was a masterpiece in cinema history. Patrick was a triple threat, and had it all, looks, a voice, dancer, actor, he was brilliant, and I will miss him forever.
"Do You Love Me" dancing scene is spectacular. Patrick doing the Lambada and that song is the movie highlight. ( btw Patrick was the poor guy and she was a rich girl. Social status big part of movie)
Kinda have to see the whole movie to get the impact of this dance. I was 11 when this came out... It was the biggest thing. OMG watching this... i remember the whole dance. We ALL learned it. Burned holes through VHS tapes replaying it to learn the steps. LOL!
When this first came out, we got it on VHS...we literally watched this final scene over and over...without exaggeration, in one sitting - 20 times at least! My sister and I used to practice the “lift” in the pool! We had the whole soundtrack and acted out all the scenes and the songs...this has a very special place in my heart! ❤️
The lady is playing the girls mom...this is based back in the day when you didn't dance like this (among other things that is revealed) in movie.....a very wonderful movie with alot of great music 🎶
Kelly Bishop. She's mostly know now a days from "Gilmore Girls", but she was also a big Broadway star, the original star of the musical "A Chorus Line".
Lmao, how funny! The older couple are Babys parents. The guy, Johnny, is a dance instructor who Baby fell in love with. Rich girl, poor boy story. But so much fun to watch. 😀
They were dancing as part of show the staff puts on for the guest at the resort. Patrick was a professinal dancer and actor. He also sang the song Shes Like The Wind in the movie sound track.
Me too!!! I love watching his reactions to these songs that I danced to as a teenager and grew up with..hilarious. i remembered when we thought MTV was the greatest TV show ever created. I think my first video I saw was Aerosmith
Dirty Dancing was a fun movie with a good soundtrack. I like the songs “Hungry Eyes” and “Yes” and Patrick Swayze but I’m sure I wasn’t the only one at that time lol.
Jovaugh, this is one of my favorite movie clips along with the entire movie. You really have to see the movie for this scene to make sense. Thanks for this memory
Patrick Swayze was a trained dancer. His mother was an instructor and he actually did ballet. Best thing I've seen from him is his dancing with his wife, Lisa Niemi at the world music awards in 1994. ua-cam.com/video/qV3tjzw-Lbo/v-deo.html
One of those films you can watch over and over and still not get tired of. Was quite a low budget film as I remember and was never expected to do as well as it did at the box office..timeless classic, love it
You have already don Patrick Swayze’s song from this movie “She’s Like The Wind” and you should do the other big hit from this movie (Eric Carmen) “Hungry Eyes”!👍
This was set in the Catskill mountains in the early 60s when there were resorts that had dance lessons. He was the instructor. She was was the daughter of the couple at the table. They didn't want their 18-year-old daughter messing with the low-class guy. In real life, Patrick Swayze grew up in his mother's dance studio and was a dancer before he was an actor
It wasn't the age that was the issue, in the script he's supposed to be about 21 (they could not find anyone the right age who was as good in the role). His problem is that he's poor. There is a lot about classism in the film.
J- this move is a CLASSIC must!!!! (NOT the remake) this one from the 80’s- no, BOTH were her parents! This move has not only this song, but lots of great ones in it! Funny scenes, serious ones, etc.. Has it all! You just gotta watch it, please!!! And let us know what you thought- I know you’ll love it!! 💛❤️✌️✨
Since I started watching Jayvee's music reactions I am learning so many things about some musicians that I didn't know back then. There is just SO MUCH to cover and learn about so many aspects of music.
According to patrick swayze he had asked jennifer grey a thousand times to be his partner But she turned him down Until jennifer agree to say yes to be his partner They did they have a fantastic chemistry together Swayze studied ballet and dance class he audition for Saturday night fever But john Travolta got the role Who could ever forget the iconic lifting
I guess you know who's singing but with a different 'brother.' Great movie if you haven't seen it...Patrick could really dance. Yeah, you have to watch the movie. Her father in the movie was a detective on the Law and Order TV show for several years. Anyway, once you watch the movie you'll understand his looks and reactions.
According to your shirt you must be 18! Dude,so young.Younger than my nephew,no wonder you haven't heard so many of yesterday's music! Glad you have now! The best era in music.
a real classic movie of the 80's... this was a hype back then. dance studios were offering dance lessons where you could learn how to dance THIS dance (been there, done that.. and i loved it). i am glad that you've finally discovered this movie!
Every girl wanted to be picked up like that move at the end if the dance! Scene from movie Crazy, Stupid Love was awesome! Jennifer Beals entrance on the Ellen show, it was great! Thanks for the smiles! 😁
Such a great movie, and one of the best movie soundtracks of the 80! This brings back so many wonderful memories and makes me smile. Thank you Jayvee for giving your reaction of this song! Do yourself a favor and watch the movie. You will appreciate this song even more!
When Patrick Swayze was 18, he suffered a major injury to his left leg during one of the final football games of his senior year. While he had been leaning toward choosing Gridiron over the arts, the incident led him to transfer his energy to gymnastics - and used dance as a method of therapy to strengthen his body. RIP to a talented beautiful man, he is missed in the movie world.
The song is sung by Bill Medley (Righteous Brothers) and Jennifer Warnes (She also did Up Where We Belong with Joe Cocker, for the movie An Officer and A Gentleman).
Everyone, regardless of their background, should watch this film at least once in their life. RIP Patrick Swayze, taken far too soon ❤️
Absolutely!!!
Ministry26 Definitely. At least once, or in my little sister’s case, about 40 times... 😂😂😂💖
I still cry over the loss of this man. Just not right that he's gone 🙏
Broke my heart when he passed. The movie ghost....❤️
The male vocalists was Bill Meldey of the Righteous Brothers
Swayze was an absolute pro in everything he did: acting, dancing, horse riding, singing, kicking ass. He deserved another 30 years on this planet than he got.
Sad, but he was too good for here.
Amen to that!!!
Ever wonder if hes a ghost watching over whoopi, I'm Henry the 8th i am lol
The most epic soul ...🤍
He should have quit smoking
I'm trying not to but I'm going to have to say it - Nobody puts baby in the corner 🙂
Yesss! Really throw J off now! Hope he watches the movie!!!
Michael Asay exactly
🤣 good one! My husband always says this to me bc of this movie.
Michael Asay BTW- same with you- (unless you’re joking and I have my suspicions that’s the case...😉) then you should watch the movie too! ✌️
I was waiting for that! I'm surprised it took so long!😊😂❤

Patrick's mom was a dance instructor. She taught him from a very early age. RIP Patrick. Grest video!

And Jennifer Warnes. Why did you not mention her?
@@louisef1861 mostly laziness I guess. I couldn't remember her name and was too lazy to look it up>

Jennifer Warnes also did a duet with Joe Cocker for the movie Officer and a Gentleman called " Up Where We Belong"
