I play with the 6th Gen Vcore 98 and I love it. Good spin, power and control. I play a lot of doubles and it's solid at net and produces a nice jump on my kick serve. I demoed the 7th Gen and loved it, but I'm just grooved with the older model and don't want to switch.

Thanks for the review! I bought this racquet and my only issue is that I'm having a little trouble with my forehand where I'm spraying past the baseline sometimes. My follow-through technique needs improvement to take advantage of the racquet's spin capability. When I do have proper technique I can really rip the ball and make it drop with a ton of topspin which is an amazing feeling. At the net it's really quick like you said and it has a great touch on volleys. I'm also getting really powerful serves with it. I like the softer feeling of it than my old Wilson that I finally retired. I'm going to really start working on my forehand to get that speed and spin!

Yonex tennis racquets are my favorite, Ezone 100 is the best for me.
My next and hopefully last stick i will switch to
Coach, the 100 sq in is better for tennis coaches than the 98 sq in. It is more comfortable for people who are on the court teaching. Just my opinion...

Great review. Curious why pick 98 over 100 sq.?
Smaller head size is smaller sweet spot but more control.
Smaller head size feels better for one handed backhands..but you need to be solid with technique
I would definitely prefer 98 over 100
I felt that the 98 in ezone and vcore pro were just a tiny bit more maneuverable but just as forgiving as a 100 so I went with smaller racket heads there. And then immediately went with the 98 in the new Vcore, to be honest, I didn't even try the 100.
Do you think 305 grams is too heavy for a mid-range 4.0 rec player? Thinking of demo-ing this racket. Thanks Meike!
No, it's a good weight for you to try.
@@MeikeBabelTennis I tried it and I like it. I used to play with a Yonex until I was talked into the Wilson Clash. While I like the Clash, it “seems” that the Yonex has a lot more bite because my ground strokes penetrated the court with more authority. I’ll have to play with it a few more times before I pull the trigger.

Which of the two do you prefer, the Ezone 98 or the Vcore 98?
I'm a weak player, 3.5 and I don't think having tried the Vcore 98 L it won't be easy to point me in the right direction.
However Meike based on your enormous experience after having tried both, and I am not talking about the lighter ones, but about making the transition to L because in principle the specifications of both continued to show certain trends, what do you think it would be easier to play.
I'm talking, for example, about swing weight and handling, or the balance of both.
If you "had" to respond and appeal to your sensibilities and goodwill, what would you say would make it easier for me to play?
The two rackets are very beautiful but the Vcore has the color of my club Benfica also known as Glorioso.
It's a giant in number of fans but it doesn't have the financial robustness of Bayern München who whenever they face us mercilessly dispatches us with 3 or 4 goals.
Jokes aside, Vcore 98 L or Ezone 98 L?

I feel you might have an easier time transitioning to the L version with the Vcore. It's a smidgen more maneuverable than the ezone.

What is the recommended string and tension for the VC 98?
Hi Meike, I’ve had my eye on the new Vcore 98, but haven’t tried it yet.. also, not sure if the Ezone is better for my game. I’m a 4.0 senior all-court singles player. One-handed backhand, SW forehand… can hit spin with the FH, but lots of flat. BH is mostly flat with slice. And I play with a lot of touch: Love to drop when the occasion is favorable.. Would the VCore 98 fit my game? Presently hitting with Shift 300 and Blade 100 V8… Also, what string and tension do you use??? Danke, John
If you havent switched yet, don't go for the Ezone, it's a great racket but not good at all if you have a OHBH.
The VCORE is made for OHBH in my opinion.

Not a fan of the paintjob, doesn't seem much of a change from the 98D that first came out in 2011 and I still use ;)
