SD33T high idle, injector pump ‘stop’ not working.

  • My SD33T project for some reason not idling properly, way too high, and the injector pump controller isn’t working, even by hand, so the engine cannot be stopped, except either by cracking injector lines or suffocating the intake.
    Edit:
    I suspected it might have also been a leaking turbo seal, letting oil into the intake and causing it to burn oil as well as diesel, creating the fast running. I have pulled the intake apart and discovered a lot of oil inside the intake piping after the turbo, confirming that it is running on oil. This is called a diesel engine 'running away' and the only way to stop it is to block the intake with something to cut off air. Downright scary in the right situation.

    Probably the injector pump rack stuck in a partially open position,
    You should be able to shut the motor down with the lever that the cable from the front of injector pump goes to

    is this engine 24v or 12v?

      12 válvulas.

      12 volts actually, most of the K160 model around the world were 24v but every one after 1983 was 12v in Australia.
      And if you were asking about number of valves, yep it’s a 12 valve 👍
