I had a similar problem on a Ford 1920. To test you can run without the solenoid. To temporarily fix while waiting on parts, cut the plunger off and turn off injection pump manually.
This blows my mind. So IF that solenoid, in this case, were to go bad, it's natural state would be to shut fuel off? It's difficult to make that conclusion here because the solenoid is actually operating properly. Great video!
Yeah, but I think that is how they all work. So if there is no power, it shuts the fuel off. It will only open the fuel if there is power. The shut off solenoid on my John Deere 317 skid steer is the same way. So if it fails, you will probably not be able to start the engine.
@@SeidelRanch my td27 won't even try to fire normally but it'll kinda start for a second with ether sprayed in the intake . Fingers crossed this is my issue then.
That’s what I believe is my problem my solenoid is going bad I can usually hear the sound when I turn the key on you hear solenoid working but now I can’t hear it
Not on mine. This one pushes the valve to shut off the fuel when power is turned off. The valve opens from a spring inside it when the solenoid is powered up.
I mean the engine is attached to the frame and the whole tractor is a ground so the solenoid does not need a ground prong. It only has a positive prong because it's ground is the whole tractor when it's screwed in to the injector pump.

Yeah, I have noticed some are more open to less than 12 volts than others but pretty much any less than 12.0 volts and you are not starting that machine anyway.
I am not sure what you are asking. This solenoid is working properly. Cutting the shaft off would keep the fuel on all the time and could make your engine keep running even with the key turned off.
@@SeidelRanch I'm was saying that if that solenoid started malfunctioning, couldn't a person just snip the end of that needle off untill it got replaced
@@mohicanjoe2079 IT would probably allow it to start. The issue would be the fuel will still be going to the engine and it would not kill it. Many engines use the fuel shutoff to kill the engine.

Did you test your fuel shutoff solenoid and find it to be not working? Check Amazon for a replacement: amzn.to/39xAOLR. Hope the video helped. 👍
Thanks for the video. Debugging these things is a pain.
Yeah, chasing fuel issues can be a major pain.

Good visual of the test. Thanks for making the video!
Glad you liked it!
Howzit. My solenoid on my 4ja1 is not connected but my truck drives perfectly fine. Should i find a way to connect it? Is it a train smash?
Useful indeed. Thank you
Thanks. Glad it was helpful.

Yeah, you can usually hear them pretty clear when that key turns.
so if the selenoid clicks when the key is switched to on, the selenoid is good ....(?)
I would say usually. If you can hear it click, it's probably ok.
Is the tip magnetic to where it pulls the fuel shut off bar
Not on mine. This one pushes the valve to shut off the fuel when power is turned off. The valve opens from a spring inside it when the solenoid is powered up.
Hallo, wieviel Ampere zieht das Solenoid ?
Ich bin mir nicht sicher, aber es ist sehr wenig.
How to disassemble solenoid
I don't think they are made to be disassembled. Some may be, but this one was not.
what do you mean when you say "and so fourth " ?
I mean the engine is attached to the frame and the whole tractor is a ground so the solenoid does not need a ground prong. It only has a positive prong because it's ground is the whole tractor when it's screwed in to the injector pump.
Здравствуйте скажите как сильно он нагревается и не могли бы вы подсказать номер запчасти?😢
Each machine will have its own part number. They should not get very hot.
Can you show it what you pulled it out of can you show us where it's located? It's out of the truck. We don't know where you got it.
This one is out of a skid steer. They are usually on the fuel injector housing.
I'm having this problem right now.. how do u remove it???
Mine just unscrewed, but it's different on different machines. Usually you can just unscrew it.

I had to rebuild the injector pump, yes. It was all clogged up.
What about a 2 wire solenoid
Then it's usually one negative wire and one positive wire.

Right. Did I say that in the video? If I did I meant solenoid.
