Correct, Dan is one of the very best, if not thee best in the media. Dana made a huge mistake firing Dan. I love Jon Anik, but does anyone believe that Jon Anik is better at MMA media than Dan Hardy? Dan could run the entire UFC media if he wanted to. It's not clear why the UFC was so foolish in firing him.

The fact that commentators need to pull footage for Jones from a decade ago speaks volumes. Gane is going to flatten him. Jones couldn't take down a one-legged Santos and got backed up by Reyes. Nice breakdown, but I really think Gane is being underestimated in the MMA community in this matchup. As is the fact that JJ has been inactive for years now, after a few years of declining performances. I'd not be surprised if JJ is annihilated by Gane. But I'd also not be surprised if he's really good. GSP made a comeback and he was still his old self.

    I think Gane has this.
JBJ has been out far too long and he's the wrong side of 30 going in against a younger fighter who he doesn't have overwhelming strength advantages over like he did at light heavy.
I think Gane treats it like a kickboxing match up and wins on points.
Jones is the best ever but father time chops away at the front leg of all who step into the octogon.
Even the greatest has to submit to father times ground game.
    Excited though.

    • @jnjunoo

I say if JBJ loses it won't be an overwhelming win in the slightest for Gane. With that being said, following the loss there will be a trilogy dedicated this two fighter int he following years to with JBJ with come out victorious 2-1. That's what I believe..

For the first time in a long while, I think the heavyweight division is becoming one of the best divisions in the UFC. The super athletic guys who move like guys 2 weight classes lighter are so, so fun to watch. Gane, Aspinall, and most likely Jones, are changing the heavyweight paradigm, as much as I hate to use that buzzword.

So much of Jones' game makes such good use of his reach and length. I don't know how well that will translate to heavyweight. He's so good at stopping people when they try to close distance but with Gustafsson, who didn't have to close the distance, he didn't have much success with his oblique kicks and wasn't able to frustrate him the same way. Even his wrestling doesn't look as effective when he can't just smother his opponent with his length. Against Gustafsson in their first fight and also against Reyes, his wrestling wasn't anywhere near as dominant.

t kicks > will JJ have the same speed and stamina now a lot heavier if it goes 3 or more rounds ? . Can a VERY athletic cyril handle JJ wrestling and to a lesser degree his previously fast long kicks ?
haven't seen the bookie's numbers on this one.

Jon Jones is a genius. If it was anyone else, I'd say they were mad but Jon Jones is a ruthless strategist and a vicious tactician. I don't think he would commit to this level of competition unless he felt he was amply prepared to handle anything they were going to throw at him. Jon Jones beats people at their own game and if they manage to fight him to a decision, he finishes them with his own game plan in the rematch. I think the level of experience JJ is packing more than covers his absence from the Octagon and I think it's highly likely he will become the HW champion.

Used to love watching Dan Hardy fight. That red Mohawk? Always looking for the devastating knockout? He was an absolute legend! It's cool to see him still a part of the sport as an extremely knowledgeable fight analyst. Bringing that Kung fu background he sees things in a very unique way. LETS GO!!!
