It's a 50-50 fight, Gane is quick and Jones is a very good wrestler, but I just can't see Paddy losing this one to be honest 🤔

Since the UFC and USADA gave Jones a free pass by changing their policy bow Jones can fully focus and train for the fight instead of being stuck to core work under the cage.

It would be naive to think Jon will come back and just look like a mess, I’m sure he’ll look great.
But I’m just consistently impressed with Gane in his fights and how quickly he improves.
Such a compelling fight, can’t wait.

Both guys are trying to play subtle psychological warfare tactics, from Gane saying he doesn't train often and doesn't even like MMA, to Jon saying he doesn't see anything exceptional about Gane.
Either way, we'll only know all the answers when the fight start. Classic fight anticipation!
I think it’s naive to think we’ll see anything other then post USADA Jones. His last 3 fights were post USADA and all 3 fights were extremely close and arguably a loss for Jones. Now Jones being inactive, on top of having to fight bigger fighters it’s unlikely he’s going to perform any better then he did against Smith, Santos & Reyes. He hasn’t finished a fight since 2018, that’s 5 years. Not to mention he looks much slower at HW, just watch him hitting pads. Gane has looked fantastic and is a true top level HW. It’s weird how everyone chooses to not mention ALL of Jones PED scandals & behavior issues. Odd 🤔

It's an MMA match, it's not always who's the best grappler. Cyril Gane is a quick learner, and he's incredibly flexible, in the Jiu-Jitsu/Judo part of MMA that's a big advantage he might surprise Jon with some submission threats in grappling exchanges, he's big fast and slippery even though he's not as experienced or as competent in that realm he's physical attributes along with his striking skills to set it up, which I don't think Jon will expect. I think in his mind no one else is able to mix striking and grappling, but I think the sports moved on to where most guys are able to use their strong area to set up their weak area.
Had this not been Jon’s first fight back I think he beats Gane handily. But since it is, I see a close 5 round fight
So many unknowns as most are saying. Especially regarding Jon Jones.

He turned Ngannou into a Wrestler because his ACL was torn. We have no idea what would have happened otherwise.
Gane seems really good at neutralizing Francis striking but I do wonder if Francis was able to throw more how it would have gone.
Ngannou is much slower and static, ACL or not, , Gane striking was vastly superior

@Dream builds Gane and Jones are the same height but Jones has a 3 - 4 inch reach advantage. So while Gane is naturally a bit heavier, Jon still has a significant reach advantage. Going to be a good fight

I want jon jones to win, but I find it amazing how much they underestimate or don’t talk about the age of a fighter, I think it plays such a huge role wether they are in there prime.
I look at Jones like I do mike Tyson, his body and brain peaked for fighting young, it was the perfect storm, this is 10/15 years later, your brain and body, reactions are different

Jon is the GOAT, but Gane takes this one. Jon is 35, had over 3 YEARS off, is moving up to an unnatural weight and - let’s be honest here - did not look great in his last few fights.
1. He went to a decision with Anthony smith
2. Couldn’t finish & almost lost to a 1-legged santos
3. Barely beat Reyes in a razor close decision
Those fights + 3years off do not equal a great recipe for success. Also Reyes - with a massive reach disadvantage - hit Jon repeatedly with rear upper cuts.
Jon had the greatest ufc run ever. Undefeated, beat 7 former & future ufc champs, and cleaned out 3 generations of LHW.. BUT - this is the end of the road for Jon.
His next (& last) few ufc fights will look like Anderson silvas last few fights: glimpses of the former magic, but too much of Father Time.
Jones is obviously a great and possible the GOAT but I just find it very hard to believe he’s going to be at his best after so long away against someone like Gane. I would love to be wrong but I see Gane doing the business here.
