  • Spending time off road is something I really enjoy and try to do as much as I can. But here in Norway that can be a struggle. Thankfully my new e-mtb makes this possible without breaking any laws. It's fun, gives a lot of exercise and really helps develop my riding skills for the motorcycle as well. Join me as I take a day trip trough the city mountain of Bergen

    Awesome Tjommi! A whoe new dimension to the ADV. Friends have done this combo for years, time to get into this. Done some e-bike riding and fishing in our highlands years ago with less complex bike, fun and takes you further. Look forward to the cabinlife Tjommi, a few of us have got our glimps before 🙌💪🤠🔥

      Thank you so much Tjommi, this is something of the most fun I have done in my grown up life. I do think more people will get into this as well here in the countries that have strict rules and impossible tracks to ride motorcycle. I truly opens up a whole new dimension. Haha, yeah I hope that channel can be interesting as well. Will be much more outdoor life, stuff I do at my cabin, fishing and not to mention knife and axes 😂 Cheers

    More mtb youtubers shoud use outside shots it just makes the video so good. Just bought my self new 2023 specialised kenevo expert to replace my cube stereohybrid. Motorbike season is still litle far away here in Finnland but the snow is melting day by day.

      I could not agree more. I have seen so much mtb footage online lately and everything is action cam strapped to the head or chest. Or slow motion footage of someone flicking their bike around in front of the camera. There is so much more to MTB than just going fast downhill.

    Flott video! Har gått fra Eidsvåg til Fløyen mange ganger i oppveksten og har gode minner herifra. Utrolig flott vei i nydelige omgivelser!

    I bought my emtb because it relly can take you anywhere. I’m from Latvia and off-road riding is possible on motorcycle but it’s better not to do alone. I have done almost all Baltic state TET alone, but after some incident even having Garmin inReach devise I decided to never ride motorcycle off-road alone. So, my emtb is a great replacement. Plus you go slower and you absorb more nature and enjoy. Please more emtb videos. Always loved your channel.

      Same here my friend... it can litterly take you anywhere. Going proper offroad with a bike alone can be a big risk and I understand what you mean. For me who travel alone most of the times, I try to live by the rule. "it is better to be safe than brave" More motorcycle videos and emtb videos are already in the making 😇

    Nice ride! 😊 It's like you explained my exact thoughts about riding around looking for those small offroad opportunities, so eMTB'ing sure is a great alternative with all our laws and restrictions. You should try Moltekremstien from Rundemanen some time. A little hairy but great fun😎

    • @tshansen

      I takes me 10 minutes every ride and then I start looking for gravel or off-road sections I want to ride with my bike. Really fun to have this option available for proper fun off-road. I have tried the Moltekremen, and that was hairy as %#" with my skill level. Damn it was intense in some parts 😂

      @@tshansen Sorry, I'm being a bit of a bike nerdy here. Chas Roberts was a frame / bike builder in the UK, he's now retired. Back in the 1990's when mountain bikes (MTB's) exploded onto the scene, Chas produced a top level bike / frame called a DOGS BOLLX. I have a frame made in 1992 which I bought about 10 years ago, restored and put a modern gear set on. I have ridden a lot of miles / km's on it and despite its age, the geometry still allows me to stretch my bravery from time to time on trails the bike was never designed to be ridden on. Lots of fun!

    As always, extremely well put together, Thomas. The range of coverage (shots used to build the story) was particularly impressive - especially at the beginning. Question: I've been wondering what FPS you shoot at, because I've been having a discussion offline about how to achieve a "film-like" look and the importance of shooting in Progressive rather than Interlaced. What settings are you using for your cameras? 25P? 30P?

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you Simon, always nice to hear you impression of my work. Well, this is a topic I have been diving into my self, and it looks like none is quite clear what is best or most film like. I shoot mostly in 25fps, since I'm in PAL region that is what I shoot and edit (my timeline) in. If I need slow motion clips, I go 50 or 100... I try as best as I can to stay within the 180 degree shutter rules, but sometimes you need to go above or below that for some effects or natural motion in some fast pace pictures.. I find that a good VND filter and a black mist filter is what gives best film look because of the nice "glow" in the highlights. It is a complex topic whit many rights. But it is also about finding a workflow that works in your favour to get the wanted effect.

    Enjoyable to watch and Norway looks as beautiful as ever through the lens of Thomas Hansen. What kind of range/power setting do you get going up out of Bergen on them fantastic trails. • @tshansen
      @tshansen  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you so much for the kind words mate, truly appreciated 🙏🏻 I get about 40km range on a battery going in mixed conditions like this, and the power I mostly leave on auto. It makes such a smooth transition between how much it helps I don't find need to regulate it myself. Downhill I tend to turn the engine off, because the power when you stand opp and paddle can be too much and makes the bike flimsy.

      @@gnarlybadger690 In some countries there is just no other transportation that can take you to most places without any regulations. Lenge siden jeg har vært på Rundemanen, så nå ble jeg motivert! Jeg har syklet opp grusveien i Munkebotn et par ganger. Jeg husker det var hinsides vanskelig på de bratteste partiene. For mye vekt bakpå, så lettet fronten. For mye vekt frempå, så spant bakhjulet. 🤣
