Love the Eurostar. Remember getting the first one out of Gare du Nord on the Monday after Euro 2016 to be back at work in London for 9am. Magnifique!
It’s been the start or end of many a fine journey!
Nice Eurostar! Can't wait to hop back on.
I watch this video a few times a year and never get tired of it 🥹
Thanks!!
Love Eurostar! Thanks for posting.
Any trips planned on Eurostar?
Thanks for the video. It is very helpful for my trip in this Summer.
Lovely video! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. Engineering marvel!!
Thank you for posting this video😀😀💙
Superb ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥇🥇🥇🥇👍👍👍👍
Why did I expect to see water outside the window 😅
Such spacious lounges at Midi. Trouble free journey to London.
So much better than flying!
Any trips planned on Eurostar?
@@DiscoverByRail planning a Europe trip for September, which will start and end with Eurostar 🚄
Send me an email Andy (at) DiscoverByRail (dot) com as you are a winner!
Awesome video
Thanks!
This looks like a great video, I’ve done this trip several years ago back when Eurostar went in to Waterloo. So I’ll be interested to see the arrival in to St Pancras.
St Pancras is an impressive station.

Good... Keep it up..
Must try Eurostar again soon. Wasn't impressed last time but hope it was just a blip.
They are going through challenging times as in fact most railways are BUT some are handling it better than others 😘
Great trip report. I've not travelled on the Eurostar for a few years now (not least due to the recent travel restrictions). This video has whet my appetite for a trip! Thank you :)
Where would you head to?
@@DiscoverByRail The Netherlands. I haven't done the route to either Amsterdam or Rotterdam yet. 😀
Would love the map Andy!
In it to win it!
I have watched most of your videos and the effort you put into planning your trips must be mind boggling. I purchased a one month Interrail Pass when they had 50% off. I am planning to use it this coming October. Right from the get go I am running into problems. I am armed to the teeth with maps, timetables etc, and I spend an awful lot of time researching on seat 61. I plan to go to Narvik in Norway, then back to Boden and overnight there before making my way to Kemi in Finland and on to Helsinki. From there a ferry to Tallinn. My intention was to travel through Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and on to Poland. This is where I have become unstuck. I may have to fly from Tallinn to Warsaw as the train services in the abovementioned countries do not coordinate. It seems to me that it would be a mix of trains and buses which defeats the whole purpose of my journey.
Sounds like a great trip!
Eurostar might even extend to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Luxembourg, Barcelona and Andorra if that was the plan for Eurostar to expand their network.
Eurostar has extended most Brussels services to Amsterdam via Rotterdam.
That’s good to hear 👍
Thanks for the video, I'm planning to go to UK and Germany next year and studying any transportation I could try along my trip. This is very informative and just want to know, can i bring 30inch luggage to the train?
No restrictions
Great vidéo. Thank you.
We are going to London in some weeks.
PS. Now tickets to London are from 44€ p/p
Thanks
Crucial information missing: When to check-in and where? I mean, yes, we can find it out on the internet, but I still consider this pretty much the most important information you could have given about this journey.
45 minutes before departure…
@@DiscoverByRaildo you think the connection between the arrival of ICE16 from Köln at 13:35 and the departure of Eurostar 9141 to London at 14:52 (1:17h on a Saturday) is sufficient to plan with it as a passenger?
I follow Andy on Twitter and like to come along for the ride 🚂😎
Welcome onboard!
How is border Control ?long time?
On the way back to Brussels stop some where in the middle of the ocean. Does still do that?
You mean in the middle of the tunnel?? No they don’t…
Do you think the price difference for Standard Premier is worth it in comparison to Standard (if you take a normal ticket instead of a passholder fare)?
To Lille no - possibly for Brussels. Paris yes.
The camera seems to be wobbly, which distracts from the pleasure of the trip.
It is filmed on my iphone as i walk around!
After arriving in London can you just leave the station like normal or are there additional checks required that take some time?
Zero check in London, you clear all border formalities when you board the train
Did anyone check your ticket besides that turnstyle automated thing at e.g. passport control, eurostar staff
No
Is there immigration before boarding and de boarding the train?
On boarding only
duty free is very quiet.
It’s not especially cheap!
What credit card allowed you lounge access?
An American Express
@@DiscoverByRail so you just need an American Express to enter there even if you have a standard tickets?
How fast i can do the check in? Can i be 15 minutes before departure?
Not anymore - need at least 45 minutes.
How do you present your tickets? How do they know you're in the right seat?
Your carriage and seat number are on the ticket. If you travel Standard / Business Premier they check it as you board.
Hello Andy thanks alot for the video, I had a question , before getting into the train do you pass through the border control in Brussels or not ? What about in London ? Even tho I think you do , is it possible to pass through with european identity card or we need our passports too ? Thank you again
At Brussels you pass through both Belgian and British Immigration. No immigration on arrival in London…
@@DiscoverByRail Thank you alot, I still have another question do I need my passport to travel or I can only travel through with my italian ID card ?
Wonder why same trip now costs $100 standard? $150 if I go earlier in day. Over a month advance booking.
They are limiting the number of people who can travel.
i also wanted to go from brussels to london for 3-4 days. What is the passport check like? How long does it take, or is it already checked on the train
It works OK
Hello. I want to ask you . If I want to go to London. From Lille France. Did they ask me ID or my passport. Or I just buy the ticket then I can go. Without asking anything
Passport control
For the european citizen the passport is required to go to England now.
Used to be any form of I.D required, as UK was never part of Schengen, but now we're no longer in EU itself, your I.D must be a passport. Whichever direction you're travelling, Passport Control will always be handled at the Departure end only, once at the other end of your journey, you are free to go wherever you need without further checks. This bit did confuse me slightly on my last trip to Paris 2 years ago, as I'd not used Eurostar (Waterloo-Brussels) for about 20 years previously.
How are you? Thank you for the video. I had a question. Can I cross from Belgium to London with my passport? I have a blue refugee passport. Will I be monitored in Belgium? Thank you.
You pass through Belgium and U.K. immigration at Brussels Station
Do I have British citizenship? Can I go to Brussels without a passport?

Merhaba mavi pasportu nasil aldiniz birde londrya gectinizmi
Where the passport control was done?
Brussels for both Belgian and UK
Video's score: 11
Paszport,?or Judy ID
Passport
Anyone have any cost saving tips? Buying 5 tickets for 5 adult family.
How old are the kids?
30s. Paid 160 pp
Going to London is more than anywhere else
too expensive... just saw the tickets jesus, how they going to attract people to ride a train ....
Well,if you book well ahead it can be decent, especially considering you don't need to travel to and from the airport (which can be more expensive than the flight), though trains are too expensive and flying is too cheap
From 44€ if 2 months before travelling.
Cheapest tickets are even 44€
They are special offers now and then as well!
@@DiscoverByRail That's cool.
Yes to catch these 44€ tickets you need 1,5-2 month in advance at least.
