I don't think it was empathy. I genuinely believe it crossed the line into true sympathy! There's soooooo much corrupt definitions out there in the Psychology world about the distinction between empathy and sympathy... But the greatest difference is the ability to "connect with" the struggle you're observing from the other person. Empathy is merely a cognitive recognition that you understand. Sympathy is where you can inter-relate it to some of your own struggles, and a greater depth of understanding a person's plight is not only acknowledged, but felt... This judge made one comment in particular, where you know he CONNECTED with Joe. Judge Olivera said "I just "Felt" I had to go with him"... This is when you don't just "acknowledge" but you partly take some form of ownership with the person going through the struggle. THAT is "Sympathy"... ;)

He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death- his death on the cross. I want to be compassionate like this everyday. Sometimes it’s hard, especially when we’re blinded by emotions, but compassion and kindness is always what makes the world brighter.
Don't look at it as being compassionate everyday. While that is a great goal, that is literally impossible. Everybody has bad days, says the wrong thing and lashes out. Break your major goals up. Look at it more like being compassionate EACH day. On the days you don't succeed, follow up with a genuine apology, give the other person the time they need to accept it, and never pester them to forgive you. 🙏😊
Mathew Campbell a lot deserve it just because you broke a man made law which probably doesn't even exist in another country doesn't mean your not human and should receive compassion.

Rough collies well we had one and in the late 80’s early 90’s they completely gave up. Said it was inhumane to lock up mentally ill people and force them to take treatment. Now we have a horrendous problem on our hands and again the people that created the problem “government” have no idea how to solve them.

@@damionterry1124 No the other guy did 3 tours.
Hello, how are you doing?
THAT is "Sympathy"... ;)
The most beautiful connection that was made. God bless and honor the man who served the country. Thank you judge!!

Take it one day at a time. High expectations lead to high disappointments.

Rough collies well we had one and in the late 80’s early 90’s they completely gave up. Said it was inhumane to lock up mentally ill people and force them to take treatment. Now we have a horrendous problem on our hands and again the people that created the problem “government” have no idea how to solve them.
Rough collies so true! It’s very easy to judge people when we don’t know what they’ve been through!

paul connor trump won (:
Hoosier 22 we know I think he means in future?
Why would you say that you haven't heard a single one of his policies
So??? Trump is a moron!
Do you REALLY think that Trump is a "moron?" I hope that you're just sharing some political or ideological banter. You might disagree with the man, but it is difficult for a "moron" to turn a $1 Million loan into a multi-billion dollar real estate empire.
Imagine if the news just showed you heart warming stuff like this every single day. We'd be on Mars by now...
but we have like real problems that we also need to cover but I agree it is a nice change every once in a while
Or we would have solved all our problems here on earth with no money to invest in a trip to Mars.
lmfao Spencer 🤣
Nope, not Mars, Proxima Centaury
@@salvatoremaximus6754 i mean thats a LONG travel.
Its like saying we could walk thru the US in a week, it just doesnt work that way.
But i get your message and we definitely would be on our way
They should have kept the judge in jail with him.
This man is broken pls God help him overcome
Amen! Heal his broken heart and mind Lord God
Beautiful comment, I do concur.
🙏🙏🙏🙏💞💞💞💞💞
May Satan curse this man with a loving family and fulfilling life
@@kenesys8713 amen lol
The world needs more compassionate people like that judge.
The moral of this story to me is that we all need someone to show concern, care, and interest in what’s going on in your day and life; whether it’s from a stranger , friend or family, because we never know what people are going through if you don’t ask. Smiles and looking happy can be deceiving. The world needs more of people showing care for one another.Maybe the suicides, fake for social media can Stop.☺️😏😞 COMPASSIONS IS MUCH NEEDED.👍🏽👍🏽
compassion is not shown for all only certain people so im not impressed in the least actually im disgusted
@Barbara McCormack your naive and blind , your unable to see things for what they really are . Your probably one of those people who simply cant handle the truth about the society and climate of the country we live . . .wake up open your eyes and embrace the harsh truths that unfortunately are a part of our society and do actually exist weather you like or not
@Barbara McCormack its easy to be positive when your people are the ones doing the oppressing . . .🤔
"Sometimes to help someone out of a hole, it's not with a rope, but to jump in."
Literally the dumbest quote I've ever heard.
lol so they die both or what
You just don’t understand then
@@drewbaker7899 No I mean it logically doesn't make sense. It's a dumb analogy bc if you're both in a hole with no rope, neither one of you will get out lmao
Liberationpocket it’s dumb in a philosophical sense. You right on both ends
@@liberationpocket7950 its possible, the hole is small enough that jumping in they could lift the other person out and then once they are out be helped up by the recently saved person grateful for the help 😉👍
