I think my answers were okay, but I think my problem was, I gave generic answers like the ones above instead of giving answers tailored to my experience, and although I had no experience, I would have talked about my experience while learning in college or in my personal life. I think the answers above should be used to help you craft your answers that relates to you specifically. A month later, I had another interview for a software Engineer position and I got hired. I would also like to note that, I had more knowledge in this subject since in college, I took more classes in software development and I only took one for Software Testing which is the equivalent of QA for software, and I found that class a bit boring. The only questions I remember they asked were: 1. how I would test the quality of a fork? 2. What skills make someone a good fit for this role? 3. what are your skills that will make you a good fit for the this role? I think my answer for the first question was good, but the others were a little too generic. Good Luck!

I used the questions and answers from this video, in addition to others I found from the Internet, and practiced for *5 days*. I had the interview last Wednesday, and yesterday I was offered the job!!! :D Thank you again! Great video! Thanks so much for making it and helping us all out. Though I wanted to share that I think that last answer was a bit aggressive. Especially nowadays when tech fields have different cultures and have recently been promoting environments that may not appreciate that answer. I guess it really depends on the kind of culture the company has, because if the company wants a more collaborative and micromanagement-less approach - and not someone who would be difficult to have on the team and go against the suggestion of their superior - I would assume the ideal answer here would have been to respect the wishes of the supervisor for it to wait until Monday, but to send out an email to the developers and stakeholders with information regarding the issue, the risks, and the plan to mitigate it on Monday. Putting our foot down as QA Engineers shows great initiative, but at the end of the day, the product managers have the final say of what is acceptable to fix later on or to have the development and QA team stay after hours to fix then and there. Just my opinion.

your answers were really good thank you for the guidance. They helped me follow the right path but sadly I sucked at the interview coz of the language gap. :( And sadly it was the final interview after passing two interviews with the same company :(
I always listen to your videos, they are fantastic, in terms of quality assurance, your responses are a little bit deviated towards consistency, motivation and planning. I think since QA is a systematic process, to make sure that the services are delivered met the specific requirement. So, having the knowledge and skills of observation, making check lists, preparing SSI, FGD in order to get the required answers are important. The person should have the know of research, Qualitative and Quantitative data collection, analysis and the specific requirement of program nature. If you don't mind.

I have done a Post Doc in QA - Sorry, I would not have asked any of these questions. I would be asking things like, how they prioritise, how they measure quality, the use of check lists.
As long as there is a direct and open communication between QA and the people working on what standards you’re trying to maintain there is nothing. I feel that QA should always have direct access to the workers because too much can get lost in the endless ropes of corporate red tape.

@@CareerVidz the questions were nothing QA related. It was an NHS role. I answered their questions ( 15 min ) interview, 3 technical questions, as I was talking they said they have to move on. They then said I didn’t go in enough depth and didn’t know enough. So they said no. They said they’ll give feedback yet they didn’t 😞💔 I was looking forward to it too

Hi there, I recommend NVQ or City and Guilds. Do a Google search for these and you will be able to find some courses. Type in to Google: Quality Assurance Certification Courses' Good Luck! :)
This is rot!. No clear point and vague answers. I have attended and taken interviews both in my home country and abroad and these sort of answers would be considered rubbish. I would literally cringe if anyone answered me with these type of answers. This reads more like a church sermon than any useful information.
@@larianecostaramos7956 be yourself. Keep it short and simple as well. Take your time to answer the question, actually think about how you want to answer it for a couple moments. If you don’t get the questions, don’t be shy to ask for clarification. If you don’t know, say you don’t know but you’re excited to learn about it. Remember the person interviewing you, is going to work with you and be around you on a daily basis. We not only look for someone who knows all the technical aspects of a job, but someone we can get along with. We often sense when someone may be lying or full of shit. So be yourself and relax. Don’t forget to research the company in case they ask you why you chose this company you can have an informed response, and prepare 1-2 questions to ask them at the end.

I apologise for saying this, but I feel that all of these answers are quite bullshitting and repeating each other for each question. They sound quite political and fancy, yet nothing to stand out from the crowd.
I don't agree, but thanks for your honest feedback. I have a different view... Bullshitty and political is winning if you look at many comments on my channel. If that's what it takes to help people land a job, then that's the type of answers I will create. What sounds political and fancy to most people, might sound great to a hiring manager :) All the best!
I believe it's a general idea that he tried to provide. Do not see anything wrong. If someone who is serious about getting into QA's role will use these according to their methods, knowledge and personal experience. ✌️
Pretty much technical in general terms. I dont get to code or code-environment and stuff,but you certainly can advance into automation testing so you sort of writing code. Depends on what you describe as technical.

your answers were really good thank you for the guidance. They helped me follow the right path but sadly I sucked at the interview coz of the language gap. :( And sadly it was the final interview after passing two interviews with the same company :(
I always listen to your videos, they are fantastic, in terms of quality assurance, your responses are a little bit deviated towards consistency, motivation and planning. I think since QA is a systematic process, to make sure that the services are delivered met the specific requirement. So, having the knowledge and skills of observation, making check lists, preparing SSI, FGD in order to get the required answers are important. The person should have the know of research, Qualitative and Quantitative data collection, analysis and the specific requirement of program nature. If you don't mind.

I have done a Post Doc in QA - Sorry, I would not have asked any of these questions. I would be asking things like, how they prioritise, how they measure quality, the use of check lists.

As long as there is a direct and open communication between QA and the people working on what standards you’re trying to maintain there is nothing. I feel that QA should always have direct access to the workers because too much can get lost in the endless ropes of corporate red tape.

@@CareerVidz the questions were nothing QA related. It was an NHS role. I answered their questions ( 15 min ) interview, 3 technical questions, as I was talking they said they have to move on. They then said I didn’t go in enough depth and didn’t know enough. So they said no. They said they’ll give feedback yet they didn’t 😞💔 I was looking forward to it too

This is rot!. No clear point and vague answers. I have attended and taken interviews both in my home country and abroad and these sort of answers would be considered rubbish. I would literally cringe if anyone answered me with these type of answers. This reads more like a church sermon than any useful information.
Advice then? Looking for prep for these interviews but there's not a lot of videos with good advice online
@@larianecostaramos7956 be yourself. Keep it short and simple as well. Take your time to answer the question, actually think about how you want to answer it for a couple moments. If you don’t get the questions, don’t be shy to ask for clarification. If you don’t know, say you don’t know but you’re excited to learn about it. Remember the person interviewing you, is going to work with you and be around you on a daily basis. We not only look for someone who knows all the technical aspects of a job, but someone we can get along with. We often sense when someone may be lying or full of shit. So be yourself and relax. Don’t forget to research the company in case they ask you why you chose this company you can have an informed response, and prepare 1-2 questions to ask them at the end.

I apologise for saying this, but I feel that all of these answers are quite bullshitting and repeating each other for each question. They sound quite political and fancy, yet nothing to stand out from the crowd.
I don't agree, but thanks for your honest feedback. I have a different view... Bullshitty and political is winning if you look at many comments on my channel. If that's what it takes to help people land a job, then that's the type of answers I will create. What sounds political and fancy to most people, might sound great to a hiring manager :) All the best!
I believe it's a general idea that he tried to provide. Do not see anything wrong. If someone who is serious about getting into QA's role will use these according to their methods, knowledge and personal experience. ✌️
Is the QA role technical or non-technical?
Pretty much technical in general terms. I dont get to code or code-environment and stuff,but you certainly can advance into automation testing so you sort of writing code. Depends on what you describe as technical.
