What a shame the band didn't stay together longer. I remember "Magic Box" when it first came out. Brilliant stuff and just as good today. Gerry rivalled Thorpie as the best lead singer of that period.
saw him in Red Onions Jazz Ban in '65 ( Kim Lynch (Tuba) Ian Clyne (Piano) and Gerry Humphries (Clarinet), the founding fathers of the legendary Loved Ones)
Not that I am aware. When he returned to England he spent a lot of time socializing and drinking pints with his mates at his local. A very English man in the end. RIP.@@johnzuijdveld9585
These guys were decades ahead of their time , rest in peace Gerry ,. trust me you are missed by many !!
NEVER FORGOTTEN......saw you in Launceston Gerry.....you are not forgotten.......
My favourite band in the sixtees Gerry had a strong amazing voice lucky enough to see them many years ago Rest in peace Gerry sadly missed 😢
One of Australia's greatest rock bands Craig Presnell👍🤘🤙
Totally. Sad Dark Eyes is an Aussie classic and is still a favorite of all time .
The greatest rock band in Oz in the 60,s. I still look into "Gerry,s last ride" in youtube and get very emotional. He was such a great blues singer.
Ongoing bongo man at his best. Fats never had a chance really. He gets so much out of the song. Very beautiful guitar and blues harp work
I loved you too Gerry and miss you

Great Oz band .. best in the 60s when so many great bands wandered this wide brown land .. saw them at the Catcher in Flinders Lane .. amazing

So sad he's gone.
Thank you for the music Gerry and band I wonder about Gerry and what his illness was 💔🎼🎶🎸
Rosie, he died of a heart attack. He had returned to his homeland in England before his untimely passing
I heard Gerry was working as a pyscatric nurse for a while,there was a doco made about his life,which seems very hard to find any info about. ;
@@ablackcockatoo Thanks, I wondered also, was he on drugs? I hope not.

Thanks for feedback. I notice your surname - any relation to Gerry?
Rare clip featuring the original keyboard player Ian Clyne
Gives Fats a run.
