    As below so above is what I think it means. I also think it represents the moon and sun, while also representing the creatures having to stay underground during the light and emerging at night. I think the 8 points represents 8 sacrifices… the sacrifice that went wrong was the boy in white who got away and turned into a different entity

      Thanks for the comment! I know the creator's and production have said there are 12 talisman and how they are unique. How the imagery on the talismans is intentional. The 8 sacrifices, one being the failed one, is something I'm working on now. Just made it back to season 3. My wife got me hooked, and we are running theories past each other, lol.

    I have a lot of questions, I been thinking though, what if the monsters are just playing the long con game, what if the talisman don't really work, that the monsters need the towns people hopeful and feel safe. I think they need them hopeful and they need a certain amount of people in town, thats why when people die, new people appear.

      @xLegendaryxMisfit That is exactly what Abby said in the dungeon in S2 E10 right before Boyd smashed the music box to free The Cicada 3 lol (Julie, Randall, and Mariel

    They had someone from MGM+ discussing the talismans. There should be 12 and each one has a different etching. Talismans haven’t even come up in the story, other than they protect the residents from the monster’s.

    • @The_Mindtikian
      @The_Mindtikian  2 дні тому +2

      @kcreations6356 This is true. That is why I decided to go back and look at them. They are all unique, but they all work the same way. So, if I can understand the foundation of the talismans, then I would know the culture. knowing the culture and how they work will tell me what the creatures are and so on.

    I tend to think of the world of "Fromland" as being similar to the pocket universe of Land of the Lost, as shown in an episode of that show where the Marshall family climbs the highest peak in the LotL hoping to get a wider view of exactly where they are.
    Reaching the mountain top, they are excited to see some people in the distance, standing high on another peak -- only to have their hopes dashed when looking through binoculars reveals that they were actually seeing their own backs. The people in the distance were they themselves, looking through the binoculars at their own backs etc etc.
    In other words, the LotL loops in on itself like everyone is living on the inside surface of an inverted globe. Or for another comparison, it's like a videogame map where walking off the screen in one direction just results in your reappearance coming in from the opposite side...
    Another element of escaping from the LotL was balance: for anything to leave, something equivalent has to enter. I think we've already seen some similar evidence in From. And last but not least, one of LotL's darkest moments came after an alternate version of the Marshalls apparently tried to get out through one of the Land's "faraway"-type Pylons. They were discovered with their bodies halfway embedded inside a rock wall inside one of the dark, scary underground tunnels where the monstrous Sleestak roam.

      I really like this. I completely forgot about land of the lost and it's one of my favorite movies growing up. Yeah, Fromland keeps dropping bread crumbs to what it is but I think they know the viewer's love a mystery so they tell 2, 3 and 4 stories at once to confuse but in the show someone will say something profound that makes me go ok... I'll look into this theory and post what I think when I cover "Fromland"

    My question is was the talismans keeping something locked in that cave, wear Boyd found them, I haven't heard anyone talk about that possibility. An removing them let something out.

      I don’t think any the writers would create a story like that where one of the few tools the main characters have would turn out to be a mistake.
      There’s already too many threats in fromville. And too many complex back and forths regarding faraway trees etc. Would be overly complex if the use of talismans also was shown to be the cause of more problems.

      @criticalthot4179 That's a great question! I wanna know how too! Like why we're there 12 talisman in that small man made cave? Exactly enough for all the building in town. Could what he let out be small or a shapeshifter bent on manipulating them? I wonder...

    • @The_Mindtikian
      @The_Mindtikian  2 дні тому

      @BenRangel true does seem that way but a recurring them is Boyd constantly trying to save people. Everything he does something bad happens. Not right away but it happens.

    • @MrHartshorn79
      @MrHartshorn79 3 дні тому +3

      Yeah, basically the Colony House massacre threw the talisman angle for a loop. Monsters can only come in if someone gives them an open door/window if the talisman is hung up. Fatima and Ellis locked themselves in the foyer by hanging the talsikman, closing the doors to the outside and the inner doors to the rest of the house, saved from monsters. But for that to work, the monsters should never have been able to get out of the upstairs bedroom they entered from, as they came in a window and the bedroom door remained closed. Also, season 3, why didn't they attack CH again when the dummy cop shot out the front window?

    te talismant is simple el the E or F sign are the trees we saw that in the cave drawing the two symbols in the middle are day and night the two people up and down are the monsters and the town people and the middle sign is the infinte sign which mean the cycles actually its the whole story of the town

      I like that point of thinking... I came up with my deconstruction and reconstruction based on my originator research on alchemy circles for a tattoo I never got. The circle has one goal at the center. Everything around it is meant to strengthen the center. Different symbols but read and executed the same way. I'm gonna look into your theory and let you know what I find.

    Had a thought on the talismans that ties into them not working theory as well as the sacrifice theory. What if they're instructions or used in a ritual kinda like the stones in the 5th Element. Probably too far fetched but as far as theories go it's not so unbelievable.
