"We pray for your triumphant soul's return, Nerevar." Huh, just realized this applies to both the Nerevarine Prophecy and to Skywind as a project in general
In the Red Mountain, The Sharmat’s power grows. Behold, Moon and Star; The Heart that knows. And in the chamber, Where destiny is made, Come, Nerevar, To fulfill prophecy betrayed.
This isn't just faithful to the original, this is inspired in its own right. Stunning. Exhilarating. This could easily be the main theme of a block buster film. @@fa_ir_ies Or maybe HBO series... with opening with this track (2:51-4:48) and some outlander as main character that traveled by boat to Vvardenfell. I'm not sure I would be able to watch it without nostalgic emotions. First look around in Seyda Neen, talks with Fargoth about his ring, Silt Strider's roar at background, giant mushrooms, swamps, "We're watching you scum" when character gets to Vivec City, Cliff Raicers, Guars, Balmora, saving old woman's pillows from rats, "The Road Most Traveled" and "Peaceful Waters", Great Houses of Hlaalu, Redoran and Telvanni with their crazy people, that guy near to Gnisis that was bitten by Slaughterfish... I'm afraid that show would make some adult people cry. Including me :D Too much memories
What he puts his hand to, that shall be done. What is left undone, that shall be done. On a certain day, to uncertain parents, incarnate moon and star reborn Neither blight nor age can harm him; the Curse-of-Flesh before him flies In caverns dark Azura's eye sees, and makes to shine the moon and star A stranger's voice unites the Houses. Three Halls call him Hortator A stranger's hand unites the Velothi. Four tribes call him Nerevarine. He honours blood of the tribe unmourned. He eats their sin, and is reborn. His mercy frees the cursed false gods, binds the broken, redeems the mad. He speaks the law for Veloth's people. He speaks for their land, and names them great.
The main template of the TES game themes have been going on since Daggerfall. So you could say - Skyrim follows that template, not the other way around.
I am stunned, I did no expect Dunmeri singing at the end. I wish and don't wish you added this throughout the entire song, the rising crescendo makes up for it. After all these years, there's finally a rendition that doesn't serve underneath the Nerevar theme but beside it. In pride and glory. Well done, it brought genuine tears to the weary eyes.
Imagine getting out of the boat and soaking in the 4k ascadian isles for the first time, whilst this plays in the background. I'm gonna cry some manly-ass tears when Skywind finally drops.
The beginning of the chorus is the ashlanders. Alone, but strong in their belief. The duet is all of Morrowind: the Houses, the Guilds, and the people. The Nerevarine is there for them all
A truly splendid rendition of the classic theme. Invokes those wistful memories without being slavish to them in the first act. The move into dark, ominous territory with the Sixth House vocal section, before finishing with a gentle but operatic flourish, is expertly handled. It should be jarring, but it's anything but that.
@@FredrikJonassonMusic what is it they're saying during the sixth house section? You have the lyrics for the operatic section up, but idk what they're saying in that section. Is it just the first line of the lyrics?
It is said that on that day, when the gods fell, the Ashlanders erupted into song, overpowering the groans of Red Mountain herself. They sang their prayer in celebration, the "outlander" was, indeed, their great leader.
I cry when I hear this song. There are no suitable words to describe the beauty and power of this composition. Very epic and beautiful track. You are heroes.
When The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind chapter's theme "A Land of War and Poetry" was released I thought they did a great job at reimagining the original "Nerevar Rising", but man, you outdone them in every way possible! I literally have tears in my eyes and goosbumps all over my body when listening to it, no kidding.

Cursed and Forbidden. Bound by Nocturnal's Shackles.* Ritual 2:55 - 3:20 *A sacred ritual must be done. As they approach the Nerevarine they call fourth the past incarnates and fellow worshippers to pray and chant thru ritual in good faith.* Climax 3:21 - 4:20 *As the spirits and followers answer the call, they surround The Nerevarine in efforts to free him* Last Verse 4:20 - 4:30 *As the ritual ends, the Nerevarine, once ashened and shackled; now cleansed and free* *Lowers to the ground . . stands tall and glowing in gold. Opens his eyes . . .* "My turn."
I make a point to listen to this every 5-6 months or so and every single time, without fail, the crescendo before the first "Nerevar" line hits hard enough to bring tears. What a composition, thank you.
Damn, back here again after what's felt like half a decade. This still hits in the same spot; there's no doubt in my mind that this is the strongest piece of music I've ever listened to.
This is stunning. Absolutely. The first 45 seconds gave me absolute chills. This was beautiful - it took me back to my days of playing Morrowind in the apartment in New Jersey...thank you for creating such a beautiful piece.
When the entire choir joined in for the lyrics in the first verse the 2nd time...inspirational beyond words. These singers truly elevated your already great rendition of the theme.

Holy moly, I'm speechless. This is probably the best arrangement I've heard of this song (arguably better than the original, in my personal opinion). I absolutely love the suspensions and dissonance in the melody once that female ensemble enters. Bravo!
Got to love the positive comments here. I never played Morrowind. But I'm really excited to play Skywind and I can't believe it's a mod, made by talented people, dedicated to working on it for free. Altruism exists.
I can't remember if I've already commented this but this really is the most beautiful piece I've ever heard! The addition of lyrics is overwhelmingly good!
I simply don't know what to say. Despite me only starting Morrowind last year, my nostalgia is overflowing. Chopping down Cliff Racers with Eltonbrand, getting rich selling Dark Brotherhood gear to Creeper, boosting my intelligence with potions just to make more powerful potions. I'm sure the full mod will have all this and more. Except maybe the potion exploit. Seriously. That was crazy OP.
this really fits the setting of Morrowind, all comes to my mind is the red mountain and dagoth ur, corpus flesh eating freaks when i heard the part with darker tones. So amaizing, God works through you! Or should i say Azura
it be a good idea for the boss theme and at the 2:50 that music part can be a epic end song to show that we have finally put dagoth ur to rest and that Vvardenfell is safe
It's freaking beautiful! It really is comparable to original, and original is one of my all-time favorite tracks, along with Skyrim's Dragonborn and Gladiator's Now We Are Free.
Moments I would love for this to play(especially the ending music) 1. Entering the Cave of the Incarnate, when all the Failed Incarnates start singing as Azura gives you Moon and Star 2. You exit Red Mountain after defeating Dagoth Ur, as the Ghostfence is deactivated
I think the second option is great. I just beat Morrowind tonight. Coming out of Red Mountain after killing Dagoth Ur and seeing the skies bright and blue was touching. I had the sudden idea to play this, so I put it on in the background while I used my last Icarian Flight scroll to jump back down to Ghostgate. It was very pleasant and climactic and I had a smile on my face the whole time. This is definitely an "end credits" kinda song.

The Sharmat’s power grows.
Behold, Moon and Star;
The Heart that knows.
And in the chamber,
Where destiny is made,
Come, Nerevar,
To fulfill prophecy betrayed.
This isn't just faithful to the original, this is inspired in its own right. Stunning. Exhilarating. This could easily be the main theme of a block buster film. The composition, instrumental and vocal performance, as well as mixing and sound mastery are all some of the best I've ever heard. Thank you to the composers and performers for sharing this wonderful gift!
You make my day. I don't know what to say, other than that I'm extremely grateful!
It is amazing!
Yessss a Morrowind Film😍that would be amazing
Quite frankly I think it's a damn sight better than the original. It brought tears to my eyes.
To the composer and vocalists, and everyone else on the Skywind and TESR teams: thank you so much for this. Just.. Thank you.

Thank you Ms. Milkshaker for the support!
When The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind chapter's theme "A Land of War and Poetry" was released I thought they did a great job at reimagining the original "Nerevar Rising", but man, you outdone them in every way possible! Arrival 1:40 - 2:20
*The men arrived, and saw The Nerevarine posessed and suspended into the air amongst the banished cell; as if his mind and body were locked out of time. Cursed and Forbidden. Bound by Nocturnal's Shackles.*
Ritual 2:55 - 3:20
*A sacred ritual must be done. As they approach the Nerevarine they call fourth the past incarnates and fellow worshippers to pray and chant thru ritual in good faith.*
Climax 3:21 - 4:20
*As the spirits and followers answer the call, they surround The Nerevarine in efforts to free him*
Last Verse 4:20 - 4:30
*As the ritual ends, the Nerevarine, once ashened and shackled; now cleansed and free*
*Lowers to the ground . . stands tall and glowing in gold. Opens his eyes . . .*
