I bought Morrowind by chance at Target one day shopping. Looked cool and I hadn't been into gaming for a long time, at the time I was 35 years old and was interested in what computer games had become in the 20 years I had forgotten about them. Brought it home and loaded it up... Changed my life, seems silly, but just wow, hadn't had that much fun alone and in wonder in a long time. It's stuck with me ever since. Getting older, I hope I can hold on to the enchantment! Lol. Peace to you brothers and sisters.

I've played all the Elder Scrolls games from Arena to ESO...... but I'll never forget the first time I played Morrowind..... I was utterly blown away by everything this game was.
Its really something huh, Arena dosen't have much definition on the world, only the legendary objets that are randonly placed around and the main story; Daggerfall is the middle ground, developying structures, the world, and lore in a heavy way, and then boom years later they use all this and give us this beauty all the best and more in one place, in the same way thanks to Morrowind all the following main titles came to be in some ways and forms. It really is quite a gem of a game in many aspects.
Same, I still have all my original boxes with the receipts in them. Going from Arena to Daggerfall felt like a massive leap, then Battlespire and then redguard while still fun were not a Daggerfall replacement. Morrowind really felt like the last of an era for these type of rpgs where you can really get immersed in the otherworldly environment, lore, npcs an feel like you could legitimately roleplay your character and your actions actually have consequences. Since then no other first or third person rpg has been able to capture that feeling for me. Oblivion looked cartoonish but had good quests however it wasnt an rpg, felt like an action game with rpg-lite elements. Skyrim even more so only with some character polish but even further stripped of even more rpg elements until anniversary edition, although nothing from the game seems unique and all cookie cutter fantasy. Morrowind was something else even without the rose tinted glasses in my humble opinion. The comment I'm responding to is 9 years old at this point but regardless I feel the need express how I agree with the statement.

I feel so weirdly distanced from those days being a teenager escaping to Morrowind now i'm in my mid 30's and life is not nearly as magical as back then. I loved every second of it. And now i find myself searching for Morrowind videos all the sudden i'm so nostalgic and filled with both joy i can still play but also sad because i can't go back in time and relive those days you know what i mean? Well anyways. Hope you get to enjoy the game again. I'm thinking i should go back to Morrowind. For one last time. I got unfinished business with the game 😄 I love the music. Story. Magic. It's the best game ever made if you ask me it gave me so much joy. Thanks for the wonderful video of music compilation from the game. Take care Outlanders.

I loved this game when i was younger. It was my life and now listening to this I'm just overwhelmed with nostalgia. So many memories and feelings. I doubt I'll ever play another game that will make me feel like Morrowind did. Maybe because I'm not a kid anymore and I just can't get as absorbed in games as I used to. I would love to revisit this game but I know it wouldn't be the same.
I know how you feel. This game was my life when i stumbled upon it back in early '04. It became one of the best games that I ever played and the whole atmosphere of it was so encapsulating. I still play it today, and I have to say that it still feels very similar but not exactly the same... I wonder why things just don't feel the same when we get older. Is it just games or almost every experience in life just seems so diluted?
Nothing ever feels the same as it did the first time around sadly, no matter how many times we play a game we will never have the same experience we did the very first time we played it.
The second song, peaceful waters, gets me everytime. Its so perfect with its mood, and Just brings me back to a time I slept outside because I couldn't afford then inn early in the game, only to awake with an assassin trying to end me. After slaying him, the rain began to fall and wash away the blood of his defeat, and just as he fell and the rain began to fall harder, this song played to accent everything perfectly.
Something about the way the music keeps playing when you enter caves and dungeons adds SO much to the immersion...just makes the game feel like home. Hard to describe why.

Me 15 y.o. wake up, go to school, home, food, a bit of physics/math, Morrowind for the rest of the day, sleep. Not a care in the world :/
The world’s depth was something to behold. From big cities to outposts and towns. Little quests and long spanning journeys. And the stark contrast between different cultures. It was an adventure.
Maybe it's nostalgia, but it's still the best game soundtrack I've ever heard. It evokes such sense of wonder and adventure, and fits Morrowind perfectly. Couldn't tell you how many hundreds of hours I've listened to it back in the day.
You can make your own spells, enchant your own weapons, make your own potions, you can dive for pearls and most of all you can fly! Best game with best music, ever.
I've tried psychedelics a handful of times and its almost always a rough experience that I don't care for. Even my favorite songs are unfamiliar and uncomfortable to listen to. But man, even in the dark, twisted throws of a trip, this nostalgic, peaceful, brilliant soundtrack helps me relax and fills me with good vibes from my childhood. The best memories of gaming I've ever had.
This is a true masterpiece. Fifteen years and love it more and more. It has a wonderful balance of moments, it's like life goes on and on, uphill and downhill, inside and outside, no matter weather.
This music makes me nostalgic, because when I had nothing to do starting when I was around five, I would play Morrowind. It's great playing Skyrim as well because they brought back a lot of the background music from Morrowind.
i have been playing games almost 25 years and i still can't have the same fealing that i had when i first played morrowind it was something realy special, the relaxing atmosphere of music and ambient of exploring also neverwinter nights had the same effect ... still to this day i havent got that fealing in any other games that i played since then and i had played alot of different games.. still remarkable experiance only once in a life time
This game gave me a way to forget the hard times I was going through at the time for just a little bit the music just brings back all the memories good and bad

Within the music it's almost like I can hear all the voice-lines of the NPCs, the crashing rain and winds, the footstep sounds, the wail of the Silt Striders and all the accompying ambience that makes this game breathe. It brings me back to a warm place that I've missed so dearly.
I second that, it's difficult to unwind to tracks like "Bright Spears, Dark Blood". Listening to those tracks just make me have dreams with cliff racers in them.
My favorite game of all time. I'll never forget playing it for the first time on Xbox back in 2003. I wish I could go back to simpler times when my life wasn't a waste. . But it's still a great game and beautiful soundtrack.

I remember when I was 10 or 11 I got my first Xbox. My dads coworker had given him some games he had and didn't play anymore. Morrowind was among one of those games. It was a couple months until I touched it for all of about 30 or so min before I gave up on the game. I had never experienced such a massive and open world, I was overwhelmed. About 8 or so months later I decided I wanted to try and learn how to play the game (Good ol days before I even used the internet). It was the only game I played for almost 2 years... I couldn't have asked for a better game to introduce me to Open World RPGs, or a better game in general at the time. I wish I could thank my dads coworker for giving me one of my favorite childhood games.
1:53 had this knocking around in my head for 2 or 3 hours trying to remember where it came from. Had memories of swimming, then something to do with night time. Finally it came to me
Graphics that look like someone's been hacking at the meshes with a bloody katana, mechanics that make me want to throw my computer out of the window and the stability of a rhino trying to balance on a unicycle. Once you get over these things: fucking great game, i think i fell in love.
Morrowind is an old game, you sound like my 12 year old nephew with your ' graphics' bullshit, try reading a book without pictures and using your imagination sometime. Oh wait, no one has any mental faculties not given to them by Hollywood anymore, are we still trying to save the human race, and if so why???
Derek Johnson exactly my point. The game is old indeed which, of course, means the game has some outdated graphics and game mechanics. Because i usually don't play these older games, this was something i had to get used to. When i did however, i found this game is an absolute gem and that i was very late to the party that is Morrowind. It's a great game, but that doesn't make it a good looker and that was what i was trying to say with my comment; don't be put off by its age, this game is great.
right, time to dig the game out and start another adventure; Barter with traders, forage weapons and armour, Worship Daedra princes, and battle bandits.
if you get your weapons skill up early with a trainer and find a good weapon its not so bad. it actually becomes quite fun to smack enemies in the face and see them fall
I am a nefarious troll from the internet... but I love Morrowind. It would be so cool to have a new Elder Scrolls game set in Morrowind again. Morrowind had the best atmosphere.
Cyrodil (Oblivion) had the best atmosphere, in my opinion. But Morrowind's music is far superior to any Elder Scrolls Game to date. The only part of Morrowind that I enjoy is the coastal regions and the southern grassy plains. Not overly fond of the Ashlands. :3
Nah, for me Oblivion will always be silly. Atmosphere was too fairy and colorful. People had strange and weird face reactions while i was using speechcraft (and that was very easy to success by the way). I remember moment when soldier told me about new portal in city. And after his speech he did huge banana-smile :D cause of my high personality. Yea, sure mr soldier, new demon-portal in city is such a funny thing :D Anyway, I played 3 Elder Scrolls games and in my opinion its Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion
I was initially turned off by Oblivion's setting as well, but eventually came around to it . I feel like Oblivion has the greatest balance between RPG elements and combat. Skyrim is too action-y for a lot of people. Morrowind is too clunky for a lot of other people. Oblivion is that perfect mix of not being too complicated, but still has enough depth to create some really interesting gameplay.
The bio is so incredible haha its exactly what I do when I listen to this , lay down and imagine playing my old character , how a game can be so enchanting and wonderfully captivating I will never understand but it is and morrowind is a masterpiece of not just videogames but of all art
Quan Nham I liked to make a long lasting levitate spell and just float over the mountains. Morrowind had so much freedom compared to the newer games :(
POV: You've downloaded this in some form and are going to roam parts of your city/town you've never been to before with this in your ears Preferably places with trees and few people outside
Every time I feel the ink black grip of all encompassing rage and anger I run to Morrowind. Morrowind has the power to help ones self overcome the traumas of torture, 😢
If I could only beg the smallest amount of your time, To remind you that you are truth, and truth is simple in that it contains within and without the essence of Love. It's a great game, but that doesn't make it a good looker and that was what i was trying to say with my comment; don't be put off by its age, this game is great.
This game is far better than most movies being made today. Especially if you get the updated graphics mod. Truly an iconic game.
Brilliant sounding! Morrowind is the best
right, time to dig the game out and start another adventure; Barter with traders, forage weapons and armour, Worship Daedra princes, and battle bandits.
*Plays half an hour*
Fuck this i'm out
if you get your weapons skill up early with a trainer and find a good weapon its not so bad. it actually becomes quite fun to smack enemies in the face and see them fall
It feels so good to see your enemy fall flat on their face after you've been swinging that axe for 10 minutes straight.
With the peaceful water song (the second one) I can always hear squibs in the background squeaking and banging their tail !
This Music is fantastic, there is some magic in it.
This is the only music I could listen to 24/7.
+Kyle Booström I totally agree. the ashlands suck.
I first played this game this year, after playing skyrim, botw and TW3, even now this game is probably the best game ever made
The bio is so incredible haha its exactly what I do when I listen to this , lay down and imagine playing my old character , how a game can be so enchanting and wonderfully captivating I will never understand but it is and morrowind is a masterpiece of not just videogames but of all art
Peaceful waters 🤤🥲 this is legend song
Even with all its flaws, I still prefer this game to the ones that followed it. Morrowind just has that... something.
I've been listening to these explore musics ever since the game got released. I still don't tire of them.
the best way to get around was to create a jump spell with max points. you could get from Balmora to Caldera in one hulk leap
Quan Nham I liked to make a long lasting levitate spell and just float over the mountains. Morrowind had so much freedom compared to the newer games :(
This and total annihilation sound tracks are the literal sounds of nostalgia
AH yesss, we were expecting you...
Will always turn to this to assist me with my studies. Thanks for compiling just the peaceful music! :)
This game was amazing I bought it during that good time between 1999 and about 2003 was living in an apartment then now in a room
Wake up. You've been dreaming. Not even last night's storm could wake you.
I heard them say we've reached Morrowind, I'm sure they'll let us go.💋
Ja sehr gut fraulein
When life was simple
Miss these times and I wish I Had enjoyed my life more when I was younger
This game was and still is unmatched. I haven't had as much RPG fun in any game since.
Icarus flight-ing across the entirety of Morrowind with this playing is truly majestic.
My two month old calms down to this. Can’t wait to show him the game.
*You should rest and meditate on what you've learned*
Since ninety stealth she slept the Seyda's inn.
POV:
You've downloaded this in some form and are going to roam parts of your city/town you've never been to before with this in your ears
Preferably places with trees and few people outside

The memories T~T
O GOD PLZ NO!
This reminds me of Vivec this song
Every time I feel the ink black grip of all encompassing rage and anger I run to Morrowind. Morrowind has the power to help ones self overcome the traumas of torture, 😢
Just wanted to say thanks for putting up this video. I rely on this music on a near daily basis.
If I could only beg the smallest amount of your time,
To remind you that you are truth, and truth is simple in that it contains within and without the essence of Love. You are this - an endless fountain of love. Whether you consciously know it or not. And furthermore, you have a purpose and place on this earth.
The universe loves you. I love you. You love you, because there is nothing else.

best music ever
Yes
This sounds like... the sound of an adventure to me.
this is an amazing compilation still!
What a grand and intoxicating soundtrack

jiub (the very first person you see in morrowind on the ship) kills all the cliffracers off. you find out in skyrim in the soul cairn. i knew his name was familiar
