I never thought I would be so deeply disturbed by Nicolas Cage's voice.
The teasers for this movie so far have been top notch... Revealing nothing yet creepy at the same time

Usually don't wait for "horror" films because most of them are just jump scares, but this, this movie is something else, even if it's a horror film, it kept me hooked from the beginning

The trailers/teasers are amazing, they want you to see more, to know more. Can’t wait for the film to be released. The film will be awesome, it looks really really dark and creepy. And if it won‘t, what film will ever be?
These trailers are so intriguing… so do we decipher the symbols? We’re trying to du that now ?but there’s so many in every trailer and they show up really quick. But we have some of it already.

This looks fun now, with the trailers not giving away much but I see the final end product going one of two ways. Either the story is very conventional and the trailers made it look as if it wasn't, leading to disappointment, or the movie will be in the same vein as the trailers leaving everyone confused what it is their watching, leaving, once again, a lot of people disappointed. I hope for the best but for now it doesn't do anything for me except making me think Oz Perkins knows how to build hype. For me, right now, it feels like a conventional serial killer movie trying to evoke True Detective vibes by staying ambiguous in its storytelling through the trailers.

so your take is essentially "no matter what the outcome is, some people aren't going to like it"? i mean...agreed, and i'll for sure be fairly heartbroken if it just turns out to be a stereotypical crime thriller. and of course if it ends up being too esoteric there will absolutely be people that will not enjoy it, because, well...if the film does turn out to be similar to the ads, they're obviously not the target audience, and i honestly don't know why they would've gone to see it anyway. but can't this line of "criticism" be applied to literally every movie ever made lol
don't get me wrong, i also very much agree that there is danger in building too much hype and setting people's expectations too high, but i don't think it's automatically damned to be a commercial failure or anything just because some people might be let down lol

First
Set in 1974, the film focuses on Lee Harker, a new FBI agent, who has been assigned to an unsolved case of a serial killer. As the investigation becomes more complicated with occult evidence uncovered, Harker realizes a personal link to the killer and must act quickly to prevent another family murder.
This is all I got for some kind of premise, which still doesn't say much. I'm starting to wonder if this is all just to cover up a trash story. The teasers have been fun , but I'm ready to see a legit trailer now. I'm not going into a movie blind, sorry.
