Jon (@HereBeBarr), great channel, very informative and well made. But I feel like you are missing out on a whole spectrum of video topics, namely, Desserts and Breakfast. With desserts there is not just cheesecake; were talking ice cream, pies, cupcakes, other sweet breads, not to mention the culturally specific desserts from all over the world that are available in NYC. With Breakfast (aside from bagels) you could cover best pancakes\waffles, classic American breakfast, top bodegas for breakfast sandwiches, how about the best bakeries\baked goods. So instead of another pizza or burger video, I think these would be very well received. Keep up the great work!
🙌🇺🇸😍😇
I saw this video and went to Donovan’s Pub today for the burger. What I didn’t realize is that I went to this place in my childhood and it was so reminiscent being seated there and waiting for my burger. Same burger you got cooked to medium rare and man it is the best burger I’ve ever had for that price at a really cozy place
Nice to see older businesses. So important to support local stores.
Much better than going to chain stores.
Steak fries are the best type!!
Glad to see Maximo getting some shine. I’ve been going to his chimi spot since it opened (it used to be a bodega for years). I love pastrami chimi but the new 3 Golpes sandwich is great too. He also makes jugo de chinola (passion fruit juice), tacos and yaroa. Yaroa is like a lasagna type of dish with chicken, beef or pork. Also includes fries or sweet plantains. Similar to the Dominican pastelon but with more sauces in it.
Just want to say thank you so much. I took my daughter to nyc for new years for her first nyc trip and we went to a lot of places based on your recommendation.. we stayed at the graduate hotel.. the views from that tram are a must see.. some of the hilights were glide bk.. the library with that amazing view.. the Spanish restaurant in Washington heights...the little sushi hole in the wall spot.. and pastrami queen.. thank you so much for doing what you do.. oh and we saw lil shop of horrors based on the bway workers recommendation in your video.. it was fantastic. We had a ball. Hope your 2024 is Fantastic.
HBB Greg is an excellent addition to your video. Greg has so much knowledge of NYNY
Barr I watch you from Melbourne Australia and I’m a big foodie. You rock! If I end up visiting NY one day I’m going to follow your trail of deliciousness.
I lived in East Elmhurst when I first moved to NYC back in Fall of 1986. We were pretty broke but happy and curious and enjoyed trying all of the various ethnic cuisines, particularly the Latin American and Cuban restaurants. Roosevelt Ave and Jackson Heights were two particular favorite places. One thing that I don't even know if it's around anymore but I thought it was the craziest was the Chino/Latino restaurants. Little hole in the wall joints with steamy windows and neon lights and a menu split right down the middle - half Chinese half Cuban/Dominican. Black beans, tostones and rice and ropas viejo and egg rolls with hot and sour soup, fried rice and roast duck. Crazy. But inexpensive and delicious. We used to go to Donovans late at night and watch the Mets on TV winning the World series that year and you could hear the roar from the stadium out side on the street I lived on. Wonderful memories. I miss NYC! Love your channel!
Ah guys. I’m Irish and have only been to America once. I was in Donovan’s for a whole day when I spent a week in New York last may it was such a nice spot. There was also a mets game on that day and it was full of mets fans.
I sat right inside the door with my now ex girlfriend. Her aunt lives in Woodside moved there in the 80s. So nice to see you guys there though really brings me back to a great week I had.
I love NY can’t wait to get back again.
Very delicious looking burgers...so far my favorite burger in NYC area is at Clinton Street Bakery!
Wow! you had me at oatmeal piña colada!! ❤ I would love to try that along with the vegetarian sandwich😊😊 Another great vid Mr Barr👍🍽️
This channel is becoming best food in queens nyc 😅 sort of
Keep up the good work, love to watch your vids!
I live in between these places and never been but definitely will soon. Thanks for the video
On your way to 500K!
Exactly what I wanted to see very good review😊😂❤❤❤❤
Donovan's...what a unique and eclectic spot! I love how they did the cheese under and on top of the burger patty. Steak fries sometimes just hit right too! Great video 🍔🥰
Excellent review as always!
I appreciate that
Great video
Burgers 🍔 are 🔥 look so good & yummy huge lots of ingredients I would like to try all these u showed in the video keep up with the amazing job respect I enjoy ya content happy wknd bro
Instead of going to a chain or fast food restaurant Jon ! I will go to one of these places for a good burger.
That burger from donovan looked so tasty. I need to make a trip to NYC and just go around Queens and Brooklyn 😂
We will be trying all of these. My biggest respects for both of you. You guys bring our communities together as one big family. Very much needed these days. Greetings from Queens 😊
Thanks!
Those chimis 😍😍
:)
I remember having an epic Irish coffee at Donovan’s Pub when I visited NY in 2018
Omg Chimito’s!!!!!!! Yes yes yesssss that’s the best spot
Is it better than the food truck that stands in front of key food on 108th st? That's my usual go to. But they only come late at night
Another fantastic Ep Jon, can’t go past the Donovan Burger ❤
I'll have everything 🤤😆
All those burger joints are amazing. The arepas burger looks the most amazing! Burger club in Astoria on 35th St. and 30th ave is amazing too. Pretty sure you have been there too.
Going to Donovan's sunday for a Cheeseburger i can't wait .Thank God i'm only 2 blocks away. Donovan's is the best!!
What's best medium or med rare ?? Some places undercook or overcook...
All burgers 👀 delicious...but the arepa burger i haven't had in yrs but mmm arepas😋 yummy
Hi Greg and John. This video is well done like the burgers 😄. 🍔🍔🍔 Best burgers in Brooklyn?
Damn those burgers looked yummy!
John he really gets it. He really does.
Greg my mannn!
This guy is underate
Queens is the best place for food, possibly in the world, simply for the diversity. Outside of maybe London and Toronto I can't think of many other places where you can get that wide a variety of ethnic foods within a few blocks. From roti and doubles on liberty ave, to arepas on 36th ave to tacos on roosevelt ave to the best Thai food in the world at Sripraphai in Woodside. It has everything.
Epic Colombian masterpiece! Pineapple sauce, quail egg, and potato chips?! Mind-blown! The mess is worth every bite. 🤤
Chimitos’s in Corona Queens is the best 🇩🇴
Unfortunately I cant find any Surinamese food in NY 😢
Another great video.
Just one suggestion: (especially) for the outer borough addresses, could you give the neighborhood and borough?
Like Donovan’s Pub, 57-24 Roosevelt Ave., Woodside, Queens (we all know it is NY, after all.)
Noted!
Pub burgers always the best. Check out corn beef in pubs.
Queens is the most underrated borough in New York City, it’s a borough that doesn’t get enough respect. Queens is also the borough in which has people from every country in the world.
And the food mecca of NYC.
Yes ABSOLUTELY TRUE
I’ve had every famous sandwich in NYC, the Chimi is way up there in ranking.
Never heard of some of these businesses. Thanks for the informative video and for not jumping on the "let's trash New York City" train.
Wow delicious yummy burgers in NYC 👍
@1:25 I remember her face and she never smiles when she works!! That old lady worker in the video was rude when I ordered my burger entree online for pick up. I spoke to her on the phone to confirm and she told me they don't do online orders on the third-party restaurant website. I already paid and I confronted her in person. She brushed me off and I told the manager the following day what she did. The manager apologized for the customer service complaint and he gave me a $25 gift card to make up for the unpleasant experience.
Wonder if it’s possible to order a normal sized burger like 4 ounce
That’s not a bad price. $17 is actually a reasonable price
yumm i love a good burger video from here be barr
Havent been to
donovans in decades .. Great memories of only a beer, burger and nostalgia!! Great burger
Geez Jon and Greg! I’m salivating like a fool and this burger 🍔 sounds like the best one ever!
Thanks for the great video.
Much love,
Peter
Our pleasure!
Damn that looks amazing
Au Cheval? Best burger for me
Bro! Re do the video and go to The Alcove in Sunnyside! Haha They have an amazing burger.
Handmade potatoes? Damn! 🤣
God bless 😇🙌🇺🇸🌏😍
Soooooo Deliciousssss
Thanks for liking
The Alcove burger from The Alcove in sunnyside. The Cemita Burger from Laly’s in Jackson Heights. The Colombian Burger from Arepa Lady in Jackson Heights. The Wagyu Burger from The Attic (speakeasy) in flushing. By the way it’s Juan from John’s of Times Square. Haha. Keep up the great work bro!
Thanks Juan!! hope you're doing well bro.
@@HereBeBarr Thank you bro! Come by anytime.
Everything at Prontito is amazing, not just the burgers.
DISCLAIMER: Warning if you used to live in New York City John is going to drive your taste buds crazy showing you all this great food
hahahaha
Irish and British Pubs don't say "Pub" in their title. They just have a name. But I guess in America you have to spell it out.
Kelsey Grammer just visited too.
U should review kosher meat spots… you’ve never tasted anything like it.
I want to go to Donovan's.
I usually add the dining experience in my Yelp reviews so oversized greatness between favorable yet flimsy bread is a no-go for me.
Hey, love your videos just wanted to know how is Ben?
Ben passed away in July :(
❤❤
DO A VIDEO WHERE U GO TO EVERY MCDONALD'S IN A DAYA
I THINK YOU MEANT "Surgical precision" 😂😂😂😂
Procedure head ass😂😂😂
🙏🙏🙏❤️
Bro that Donavan burger looks thiccc
bro check them out.
Never ever put ketchup on a great burger
A backyard fat, juicy burger grilled over coal will always be the best, not these trash smashburgers
👍
🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Even when the chips are as big as logs you Americans still insist on calling them fries, albeit it steak fries. 😂😅
😜
17 bucks for a burger that I could make better myself at home, guess you're paying the fireplaces & the Dali's. thumbs down.
why do you include the unnecessary oversized subtitles? they are very distracting
@varunaxI guess for subscribers who are not proficient in English 😊😅
@@homerb3368 but that's why there is an option for subtitles in settings
lol "this neighborhood used to be super Irish"... in the 1930s😂🙄 that's like 100 yrs ago
Chimis is just a sausage, not a burger.
the wildcard of the video
Viel zu ungesund mann soll wenig Fleisch essen und zu teuer lieber selber kochen ist gesünder Grüße aus Berlin
Surely too much sauce in that Dominican 'sandwich'...
The price is so extreme sad I would never spend that much
$17 dollars for a burger. Overpriced lol
Can tell you've never been to new York 😅
@@SuperUltraSaiyanDoesn’t mean it’s not overpriced lol, just got Five Guys here in Michigan, one burger almost 15
$17 for good burger is what I expect to pay. I live in Utah.
Don’t act like your not spending that at a fast food place just on your self lmfao pay for quality it hits different
Yeah that price is extreme
Total unhealthy food!
How does hamburger America's smash burgers stack up against place with a burger patty that big. When I went to Peter lugers and got the lunch burger it was big thick and juicy and made from cuts of steak as well. I cant imagine a thin flat dry smashburger has a chance against a burger that fat and juicy...
Yes you know im ready too eat 🍔🍔🍟🍟🍺👨🏽👍🏽 food is ON and popping my dude 🍾 @HereBeBarr 👦🏻
