Stanley please revisit this piece!!! I would love to hear your interpretation. Also, you did amazing as a kid playing this piece! How many years of playing did you have under your belt at the time of the video?
One of my regrets is that I didn't start learning piano when I was a kid. I first started learning the piano at a late age of 19 years old. I first learned how to read music in my 20's and I wasn't familiar on how to develop great technique until later on. The great thing about learning an instrument at a very young age is being able to develop healthy technique and being able to grasp that until adulthood, which in turn makes you almost invincible to bad playing habits since children usually have more plasticity in their brain. That's why I always envy people like you who got exposed to music at a very young age. Nonetheless, my adult piano journey still feels rewarding. Incredible job on your performance btw. 👍 I wish to learn how to play Claire de Lune, one day.
I do admit starting at a young age will put you at an advantage, although in my adulthood I'm still prone to developing bad habits and technique! Playing now as an adult is so much more rewarding than it ever felt when I was young and I'm glad it's that way for you as well! Thank you for watching friend!
a follow up vid of u re-approaching the song now is a great idea! just curious (totally feel free not to answer) when you were younger did u see yourself playing professionally as a career someday? or was piano more of an extracurricular the same way sports are for some kids?
It was an extracurricular! My parents forced me to play piano when I was a kid so I hated it the whole time and couldn't wait to quit. It wasn't until I picked it up back up again as an adult that I fell in love with it. Thank you for the feedback :)
@@StanleyDo wow! you were playing at such a high level for it to be a hobby! I never managed to get passed playing beginner's mode ode to joy as a kid lol your channel is definitely instilling confidence in revisiting piano as an adult!
Sorry for my second comment in a day, but i'm very sad to see you not had posted other videos from several month, I discover your channel only today and I am literally kidnapped... Your way to talk about the music, the journey of an adult want start to play...is really motivational... so I hope to see you soon with new content... for now I continue to watch your journey, connected to mine... best wishes!!

Thanks Kirb! I’m definitely going to revisit at some point! I think I played for 7-8 years at the time of the video.

This is unbearably self-indulgent.
