I always love how brutaly honest Carpenter is. I dont think there are a lot of directors as honest as him

People need to understand how much of legend this guy is. It hurts when they say "jon carpenter halloween" while he made "the thing, in the mouth of madness, they live" this guy influence in the media has no limits he inspired the "Metal gear, mortal kombat" in wreslting too.
'They live" alone makes him a legend.

He was honest answering how to become a director . Nowadays 2024 it’s a lot easier you can easily making a movie via UA-cam . Back then I believe was really tough . People today knowing how to use this powerful tool , internet , they can truly become successful

Pretty hilarious when he's asked about if he would have directed Interview with a Vampire, and he responds no vampires are a stale genre at this point. Meanwhile John Carpenter's Vampires comes out four years later. 😆

Has to be something else to it then, cos there are some classic one liners in that film, especially from the old guy who owned the garage.. "I catch you drivin' that mechanical asshole in here one more time you' re out on your ass, you got that?"

It's funny when he shouts out George Miller here talking about how he quit the industry...
Cut to the 21st century and George Miller has multiple Oscar winning movies, including a 4th Max film and Carpenter has played Xbox for the last decade.
Not calling Carpenter out, he's my favorite director. It's just hilarious.
